I wouldn't watch that much Simpsons! That being said I would watch a "Tree House of Horror's" marathon. That episode is the only one I try and seek out every year. I wish it was a 1 hour special each year.

I agree, you have to be a die hard fan to even try to watch a sizable portion of this marathon. Still, I love that FXX is going through with this. I'm especially looking forward to seeing a bunch of the early episodes I have been unable to see in syndication. I have the 24th and 25th marked down as much watch days.'Mother Simpson', '22 Short Flims About Springfield', 'Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie', 'Trash of the Titans'- those two days are chock-full of great episodes.

About halfway through S2 to about halfway through S11 is probably the single greatest collective run of any show in history.

Yeah, I'm going to have this on a lot, at least until we hit the 21st century. The local stations carrying the show have been heavily favoring the last few seasons for some reason. The Simpsons stayed good for a remarkably long time, but in recent years it's been pretty dire.

Season 4 is the best.

I was hoping to put it on in the background, but I do not have the proper FIOS package to watch it.

Seasons 9 and 10 had some hints of the bad to come. Seasons 11-13 drove me away. I'm willing to look at those episodes with fresh eyes, though. The marathon just entered season 10.

I love being able to turn to FFX and watch for either a few minutes of some hours and remember some one liners I forgot.

Warden: There's no air in space!
Homer: But there is air in the air and space museum!

Life is hilariously cruel.

It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.

Reading this thread is kind of interesting to me. I am amazed at the love for this show and understand that it must be loved having been on TV for 25 years or whatever.

But I have really never seen it. I used to watch the segments on the Tracy Ullman show. I have seen short clips and know some of the lore of Bart and Homer (Doh! and so on).

It's interesting because it is clearly a cultural icon to the Gen y folks - but I wonder how many boomers (like me) or Millennials care.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I am 46 and have watched this show on and off since the beginning. At times, it is sheer brilliance. Others, crap. But for the most part, I have always found it funny and enjoyed the laughs.

My kids think it is hysterical. So I can now watch with them.

Sorry, but to drop another Simpsons line, now that didn't make a lick of sense.

Homer's reply is actually "There's an Air In Space Museum."

Man, I thought this line was from when he was on the space shuttle in Deep Space Homer. D'oh.

I do watch it and I am in your age bracket, sir. I watched it before I had kids and now with three teenagers I still watch it.

I watched it from Tracy Ullman til probably early 2000's, then really haven't given a crap since. Not that I ran out of interest in it, just found other things to do and never came back.

Now, if I could only do that with WWE.............

I've been doing this as well. Been watching with my kids.
It's oddly comforting to know the show is always on. (and they can go twelve days without repeating) Maybe FXX should just run them on a continuous loop.

I'm hoping they do this every holiday like how Sci-fi runs Twilight Zones.

I probably watched it regularly until 2004ish, but I am also comforted knowing it is still there and am usually pleased when I remember to watch it.

Mondays from 6 p.m.-midnight
Tuesdays from 8 p.m.-midnight
Thursdays from 8 p.m.-midnight
Fridays from 6 p.m.-midnight
Sundays from 4 to 8 p.m.

I've been doing this as well. Been watching with my kids.
It's oddly comforting to know the show is always on. (and they can go twelve days without repeating) Maybe FXX should just run them on a continuous loop.

I would have no problem with that idea. And I agree, it is nice to know that when I turn the TV, I always know there is something good on!

Life is hilariously cruel.

It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.

Twilight Zone marathons are usually only on New Year's Eve and Fourth of July. My friends and I used to joke about the promos SyFy would run if they truly did run a TZ marathon for every holiday...
