It is possible the two sides are still trying to come to some sort of agreement, but at this point that’s what we know.

I'll miss TNA when it is gone. I mean, it mostly sucks and I almost never watch a full show anymore, but it's there and I like that.

If this is the end, TNA deserves it. Hell I'm amazed they haven't folded sooner. You feel bad for the performers, but I always kind of felt bad for them anyways.

It will be interesting to see where everyone lands.. The WWE needs Jeff Hardy right now more than he probably needs them. Everyone else falls into the midcard or lower.

TNA is dumb, but they had me roped in quite a few times until they got dumb again.

I hope someone fills their void, only someone better.

I wonder if another station would pick it up.

Also, I wonder if maybe WWE would push NXT to replace it.

Meltzer on the LAW says the negotiations were going smoothly until the revelation that Russo was working for the company and TNA had been lying to Spike about it. "The straw that broke the camel's back."

This is a promotion that could not stop hiring Vince Russo, even if it killed them.

AND THEN IT DID.

There's going to be a lot of dancing on the grave, there's going to be a lot of repudiation towards people dancing on the of grave because innocents are losing their jobs, but what I really want to know is this: Is Bully Ray the TNA of Dying Days of WCW Jeff Jarrett, and who can he get to go out to a fishing boat with him?

Also, I wonder if maybe WWE would push NXT to replace it.

Feel bad for the Wrestlers for jobs they are gonna lose. Don't feel bad one bit for Dixie Carter, who stupidly kept rehiring Russo even though he failed time after time. I thought the ratings spiking the last month might save them, but obviously not. Meltzer pretty much said the 10-15 mil they got from Spike was all that saved them well no more.

As much as WWE would like to pretend that they never knew TNA existed, this has to be good news for them. If they come out of this mess with Jeff Hardy back on their roster, it freshens up a desperately stale main event/upper mid-card scene in one stroke.

As someone that saw the potential greatness of this company a few years ago when Austin Aries beat Bobby Roode at Destination X, can I give a hearty "Fuck you" to Dixie Carter for riding the Bischoff/Hogan train straight to WCW-ville? It's just staggering how many careers were wasted so that this company could focus on Hulk Hogan's pipe dreams and another nWo rehash (they're BIKERS this time!) straight into the ground. It was depressing to watch the same WCW story unfold a second time, as I watched immensely talented guys like Aries, Christopher Daniels and Kaz, Samoa Joe, Joseph Park, AJ Styles, James Storm (ESPECIALLY James Storm), Kenny King go to complete waste. This is more infuriating to me than any Groundhog Day story with WWE, because it's a story that ends with a whole lot of talented people losing their jobs with nowhere to go.

This is a dark day for wrestling.

What are the chances of them getting another network to pick them up?
Perhaps a type of company like ROH (sinclair) that isn't well known but does seem to be able to fund the bills.

I never really became a TNA fan but checked the product from time to time, reading reports to stay aware.
In general I feel their problem was always "no plan b"
If WWE screws up an angle or push, they usually have ways out of it even if it makes the smarter fans roll their eyes.
When TNA screwed up or overpushes they keep going and going and going.

Anyways, I do hope they find other options.

Oh btw,

I'd ask if a show that draws a 1.4 mil per week can't get another network interested, but look at the WWE TV deal, which was under what the WWE was expecting and they have three million more viewers. I guess we'll be seeing a lot more Cops reruns on a Spike going forward, which btw drew nearly as many viewers as Impact. Fox Sports One would make sense for TNA what with their generally newness and low ratings, but Meltzer put the kibosh on that. TNA had so many chances to do something like hire a Heyman in 2910 or stop hiring Russo and the Carter's could have sold the Company to Toby Keith and Jeff Jarrett in the fall and pulled out in the last second. Sad day indeed if this is it for TNA.

TNA's known this outcome was a possibility for some time, so maybe they've secretly been working a deal. However, it's a deal that's got to come together in just two months when other networks probably already have figured out what their spending their money on. TNA was done no favors by this decision taking so long.

Even if a CMT or whomever decides they want wrestling, and TNA can hang on until they're ready to start airing them, they're now competing for a spot with Jeff Jarrett's group (which is basically TNA without the name and maybe some of the baggage.) You can also look it the opposite way - if there were networks who wanted to air a TNA style of wrestling already, why hasn't Jeff's promotion announced any sort of TV deal? There's not enough interest to keep WWE secondary shows on TV, there may not be enough interest to keep secondary wrestling promotion of any brand on TV (unless it has a really specific niche.)

(Ironically enough, there are far less advanced but JR-perpetrated rumors out there about ROH and Sinclair may be splitting up. Which means even more competition for spots or less interest in making them available, depending on how you want to look at it.)

It's looking like we get to have to the "How is the Network doing? Oh, ohhhh, oh no." thread again Thursday (when the updated subscription numbers are released.) Interesting times.

Dylan Waco, a internet wrestling dude that seems fairly connected, is claiming on twitter that TNA told some indy promoters to wait until Monday to book TNA talent on their shows, because they might be able to get them at a cheaper price then. Uh, wow.

I guess that opens the market for Jarrett's fed, but really, the stars of the 90's are getting old and there hasn't really been that many new stars created over the last decade to where I don't see how that could be a suitable replacement of any kind.

I'll hold off on any TNA retrospective commentary until something definitive happens, but things aren't looking good, and haven't been looking good for the last year or two.

At least there's still NXT, which is what I've been watching instead of TNA whenever I want to escape WWE. I guess there really is no alternative.

I can tell you from my hard time recapping WCW that there's no greater relief as a recapper than knowing there's a date of the final show and your last recap. (Although...do people even recap TNA in 2014?)

There are a lot of people who may or may not deserve schadenfreude - I started listing them but I thought better of it. (Maybe in a few hours.) At the very least, you have to think MVP is wishing he'd made a few decisions differently.

But let's not write TNA's obituary just yet. Dumber things have happened! Has anybody heard from Bischoff and/or Hervey yet? Lagana? "Big?" Bruce Prichard? Wait...I wasn't gonna make a list...

I certainly gave it the old college try for a while. This was the last show I recapped.

And that reminds me...Hulk Hogan sure did know when to jump off this sinking ship, didn't he? He couldn't have timed his departure any better, even though he's also a pretty big reason why this show started to tank, quality-wise.

It sucks. I have been a fan and supporter for TNA for awhile. I lost hope during Aces and Eights, but was looking forward to the TNA New York tapings which were sold out. TNA made a lot of dumb ass moves the first giant one was making Jeff Jarrett the face of the company instead of Joe and AJ early on. Yet, the biggest mistake was signing Hogan and Bischoff who destroyed what I thought was one of their hottest streaks during the time.

Why you would continue to do business with Vince Russo is beyond me and they deserve to get shit canned for that alone. They do bring in a million viewers which on cable TV is a pretty good number. Yet, after the debacle of the WWE negotiations, I am not sure who will pick them up and at what cost.

Yes, people can be smug about the company close their doors. All this will do is make WWE lazier. They will hire some of the talent they want and then people will bitch they get pushes over the stars that are there, who are not really moving the dial. Then again, as stated before how much money WWE can throw at these guys may depend on the Thursday conference call about the new network numbers. If anything this Global Wrestling company may have hit the jackpot as long as they don't commit the first mistake TNA did which is making Jeff Jarrett the face of something.

I won't spell doom and gloom yet but didn't Spike pick up a lot of the tab for contracts and production? That could hurt a bit if they don't get as good a deal as that on another network -- especially if they have to go online only.

Also, did Spike cancel them because of Russo or because of the fact that TNA seemingly lied about it?

What do Hogan and Bischoff have to do with the fact that TNA brass were openly lying about their association with a guy that Spike wanted nothing to do with? I don't think the Hogan/Bischoff deal helped TNA in any form or fashion, but it wasn't as though they were solvent every month until those two showed up.
