Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

Anyone with a brain could've figured out that Miz was going to win once Heath Slater (!!!) eliminated Cesaro. (I mean seriously, Slater? That spot was TAILOR-MADE for Bo Dallas.)

I said two months ago that Jack Swagger should have gone over in the US title battle royale instead of Sheamus, and I stand by that now. It would've made Swagger/Rusev more meaningful and forced them to book Swagger better (as well as leading into Rusev getting a title, which he's going to need before long to keep anyone caring about him), and it would've made Sheamus a legitimate possibility to win the match last night (even if Miz was the obvious choice once Cesaro went out).

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

My PS4 feed was acting up during the Pre-show (kept rewinding and plays the same thing over... drives me nuts) so I switched to Xbox One. That lasted a lot longer. Had about 4 freezes throughout, had to exit the WWE Network app and launch it again. Missed a few spots. But the PPV was crappy so oh well. I normally watch it on PC, but I have to remember to turn off screen saver and sleep mode...

Watched via Roku here, and it was the worst so far with lots of skips and burps during the opening match. We just paused the show for about 10 minutes or so, and it was much better on a delay.

Thanks to the Last Man stips, though, good ol' Y2J gave Wyatt only his second pinfall loss, which is probably Jericho's biggest win since Wrestlemania 2010.

Bray pinned Roman Reigns in the tag at Elimination Chamber, which I think was Reigns' second pinfall ever? I don't expect any more until he drops the world title.

If true, this is impressive even by the standards of WWE storytelling. Meltzer says he was told that with Lesnar coming back, Heyman is just going to stop managing Cesaro without explanation. Cesaro was originally supposed to have a big break-up with Paul and turn face at the end of the summer. Then they decided they only wanted to focus on establishing Reigns as a top face, so Cesaro is going to spin his wheels for now and then turn "when we need it."

Amazing job all around since the night after Mania, when Cesaro looked like he was going to keep "we the people" as a babyface catchphrase, along with the music that the fans were literally singing a capella. Now he's got, uh, the swing a jacket. A+ work.

I enjoyed most of the ppv, including the Dean/Seth confrontation.
The moment he came out, you knew something like this would happen. And I thought it came off looking good.
A match would be better, but as far as anticipation building goes, it was good.

The battle royale was fine, though it was obvious that Miz was going to win it with him being on the floor most of the time. And though it was unplanned, I liked that you saw him 2-3 times trying to hide while others were eliminated. It made it less like a spot.
Sheamus/Ziggler did what I love most in a BR. Fight back and forth for a bit before the elimination.

I liked AJ & Paige up until I realized it was one of those matches where one gets destroyed up until the quick counter+finisher. And it was sloppy but still fun.

Wyatt & Jericho didn't deliver the awesome match that I hoped but I keep my fingers crossed they purposely save it for next time.

Harper is the man. Nuff said about that match. (No wait, the Usos are good too..)

Cena won, that was to be expected. The least interesting match of the night.

Now for Lana & Rusev. Sorry but I chuckled when she started dropping hints about a true leader who doesn't lie etc etc.
And yeah, I'm Dutch. I don't see anything wrong with some irony and sarcastic humor. I guess I'll go collect my ticket to hell now? As for the match, I actually like Rusev and Swagger and hope they get to have a good solid match next time.

All in all, yes a place holder ppv but an entertaining one.

WWE issued the following statement on Lana’s promo at WWE Battleground:

“Last night’s segment during WWE’s Battleground event was in no way referring to the Malaysia Airlines tragedy. The storyline with characters Rusev and Lana has been a part of WWE programming for more than 3 months. WWE apologizes to anyone who misunderstood last night’s segment and was offended.”

But no apology for the show itself?

And, in case you're wondering where Paul Heyman was.

Let's bring some positivity into this thread. Man Cameron is terrible in that ring...shit let's start over.

The 2 out of 3 falls was fantastic and easily the true Match of the Night winner (Thanks Lexus). Stop saying Rowan can't hang with Harper in the ring he broke out the only double superplex I've ever seen, he's going for top rope splashes, and he flops and sells like he got hit by a flaming barbwire bat when anyone dives at him or hit's him in the face at the right angle. I loved the face of disbelief from Jey when the regular Uso Splash couldn't kill Rowan for the second fall. Dueling Superkicks! Double Samoan Splash! Diving Hillbillies! The match was stupid awesome!

My feed hiccuped during the Diva's match so I only caught the ending. Why was Paige stalling so much? I also haven't seen AJ in a good match since her and Naomi went at it on NXT Season 4. I always blamed it on the women she had to work with, but I don't know now. Paige on the other had had great matches with Natalya and Emma so I don't know.

You guys don't seriously believe they are gonna waste Rusev's monster push on a Swagger win do you? The guy who fucked up his big Wrestlemania push, legit injured two more over Superstars because he works sloppy during their big pushes, and the same guy who straight get's hardly any reaction with the exception of the "We the People" catchphrase? He still needs Zeb to speak his promos. Rusev is supposed to be a foreigner what's Swagger's excuse?

Dolph v. Miz for the IC title = Good. The last time they had a legit feud it was totally overlooked because it was on Superstars/Main Event pre-network, but the promos were great and they work well in-ring. BTW Zigg0man is starting to look like Ken from Street Fighter.

I agree with Dr. Unlikely Shaemus should just say "Foight" and "Fella" only or just not cut promos where he smiles like a jerk the whole time and he'll make a fan out of me.

I like Seth and Ambrose's non-fight. If you think about it they still advanced their feud and fought they just did it everywhere but the ring. Fits the character of both men seeing as for months they attacked every Superstar randomly
for months in and out of the ring. They were mercenary ninjas for the first 3 months of their debut before they had a real match. Ambrose/Rollins having a regular match to start the feud is too fargone at this point, we are basically at the grudge gimmick match right before the bloody cage/street fight to end it all. Plus I always wanted to see two guys who keep fighting the whole show well beyond their scheduled match "no ring can contain their fury!" sort of thing.

If Punk was the Austin-like anti-authority badass through
his words, Ambrose may be it in his unsanctioned actions and capacity for vengeful unrelenting violence.

Main event was what it was.

I hope you guys are into dance pop-rap because Flo Rida is probably gonna perform a mini concert tonight. The one Monday I'm glad to be working. Though since Raw will be in Florida (the state not the pop rapper) they will be awfully close to Full Sail Uni. I wonder will they be picking up some young talent from NXT before they leave...?

Don't forget the incredible puffed out chest, the confidence required for which can only be found by being a Paul Heyman Guy.

Kofi continues to shine in battle royals. Cesaro's dead lift suplex of Kofi from Big E's shoulders had me cringe.

Slightly ashamed to admit I forgot all about Miz hiding outside the ring.

For sure, man. Lana was directly alluding to "recent current events" like Lebron and The Purge sequel. For people who see themselves as such audacious visionaries, they are pretty mealy-mouthed cowards any time someone accuses them of doing something that couldn't be used in a Did You Know? graphic. I know it's not quite "shoplifted $20" bad, but at least they didn't have to scapegoat and fire an agent this time.

They should try to be a little more judicious with this one, because unlike with Muhammad Hassan when nothing of value was lost, Lana is good.

AJ vs. Kaitlyn at Some Show Last Year and AJ vs. Natalya on The Main Event were the best women's matches I've seen in WWE in the 2010s, so what that tells me is maybe AJ works best with someone bigger than her to catch her and bounce around for.

Man Cameron is terrible in that ring

Cameron needs to be a heel valet straight away, her contempt for the proletariat is superb but then what's she gonna do, wrestle? F that. Cameron and Fox would be a powerhouse duo, but they already just put LayCool back together. Oh right, I guess Fandango has an opening. Maybe they can mash up their entrances.

If Bo Dallas had spent the entire battle royal standing outside and encouraging the guys that got eliminated to BoLieve, then went in and sneak-style eliminated the "winner" like Slater did Cesaro, that would've been awesome, right? Since it was the Miz, I knew he was winning but I held out a tiny bit of hope that either Sheamus or Ziggler wouldn't hit the floor and would foil the Miz's plan. Oh well.

It's kind of funny watching with IJ...we were both marking out like crazy during the tag match. When I tweeted about how I hoped the Usos would lose because their problem was that they lost due to looking too much alike and then showed up in the same matching gear ANYWAY, she wasn't pleased. That was a great win for the Usos, though.

Then when Dean attacked Seth the second time IJ said "you can tell when storylines are 'storylines'...this is REAL LIFE." So, well done Seth and (mostly) Dean.

I think the big problem with this PPV (besides CENAWINSLOL) was that the Usos/Wyatts match was SO WHITE HOT, and THEN we were going to get Seth/Dean and it turned into...that. What a smoking pile of Letdown City.

And I will keep saying it...I love Roman Reigns to death but that guy is not ready to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champ. I honestly would have preferred HE win the IC title battle royal and get a nice long IC, uh, reign. I will say, though, the crowd going "BOO!...YEAH!...BOO!...YEAH!" whenever Cena and Reigns went toe-to-toe was a nice touch. Cena is like the Ultimate Dynamic Dude.

The crowd didn't seem particularly hot for this after Usos/Wyatts, either, once they realized they weren't getting Seth/Dean.

The whole "lay outside the ring during a battle royal for the entire match" thing is so tiresome and needs to go. As soon as I saw Miz out of the ring, I knew he was going to be involved in the finish. Him winning was just garbage.

There are plenty of ways they could stop doing it. Just stop doing it for one. Have a count out rule.

They also need to stop with roll ups. They are not a satisfying end to a match, ever.

When I first saw the Rowan & Harper, Rowan couldn't hang.
He looked so green and just moved slowly and stiff.
Now, he's good (at what he does) and he definitely belongs.
It's just that Luke Harper has shown so much that it's hard for Rowan to catch up.

About Aj en Paige. I think the biggest issue is that WWE seems to like matches where one person beats up the other and then there's a quick comeback and a win.
It doesn't allow the two to get any good flow or chemistry going since one of them is on the mat most of the time selling pain.

They've got to do something else with Harper. The way I'd book it is to just have him start acting crazier and crazier, with Bray doing the "I'm the only one that can control the insanity that is Luke Harper" shtick. The breakup writes itself after a couple months of that, and Luke Harper can start out on a singles character of being the crazy guy & just see where it goes. Hey, worked for Mick Foley.
