I am all about Foley. It seems like ever since Foley ended his good stint at Commisioner (not the Invasion stint) the WWE has gone downhill since he left. Plus he has a book coming out soon he needs to schill.

Other than Foley Shane would work for me. As would Hillbilly Jim.

Maybe it will be Bob Backlund, then Angle will control SD thru him.

I know! Due to him being so dedicated to the company for so long, and having such a recognizable voice. The title of Smackdown GM will go to the king of broacasters.....

It's gonna be Shane, even though that won't make a whole lot of sense with Vince giving him the job and all. So, here's how I think it'll could work: Vince wants to give the job to some pretty dull - no one the fans would get excited about. A Paul Heyman or a Pat Patterson or a William Regal or one of his flunkies, and Shane finds some way to steal it, ala the WCW purchase.

HBK is a possibility, too. It's gotta be someone the fans will support, since they seem to be setting up whomever it is for a fued with Bischoff.

And, Lawler did say: "I know of two other McMahons!" at one point, so Steph was *kinda* mentioned.

It'll be Ahmed Johnson. Think of the interviews!

Cole: "Welcome back. What will be your first act as General Manager of Smackdown?"

Johnson: "La kiche na zhit fo po mikwer, grumble mumble!!"

Cole: "And there you have it."

- Heyman becomes the GM of Smackdown!
- Angle wins the belt on Sunday.
- Lesnar goes face.
- Angle vs Lesnar at the Summerslam.

I can only hope.

EDIT: OR Piper gets the GM nod. GOLD!

So let me see if I have this straight:
Vince is still mad at Shane for trying to get control of the WWF/WWE last year, and doesn't make him GM of RAW.
Eric Bischoff tried to run Vince out of business, so that makes HIM the new GM of RAW.
Stephanie was a leader of the Alliance, and Vince had her dragged away. He's still mad at Shane, so logic would suggest he is still mad at Steph.
Therefore, by WWE logic, Stephanie McMahon is your NEW Smackdown! GM. And I am WALKING! home from the arena tonight because people have threatened to leave me there if she's coming back.

Piper as GM would seriously own. The man was pretty much always entertaining on the mic. I'd love to see an exchange between him and The Rock.

They should name Barry Horowitz the new GM. He won his first match in Wilkes-Barre almost seven years ago to the day. They could have some sort of lottery between all the people named above & Horowitz, and Vince draws Horowitz' name out of the Royal Rumble Ping Pong Ball/Bingo Number Randomizer. Michael Cole could start screeching, "Horowitz Wins, Horowitz wins!" Casey Plaza would go crazy.
Or not ;)

Well, they seem to be setting Bischoff up as a heel so the SD GM would almost have to be a face. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shane make a long face run here. I think he's a much better face than heel anyway.

When Vince announced the NWO was dead and then said there'd be 2 managers I figured HBK and Nahs would be the two guys. I suppose one of them (probably Nash) might still be up for SD.

Oh, it's not Austin. Only one man can truly deal with Eric Bischoff toe to toe, and that man is DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE...I will be proved right, don't you worry.

It would be a decent way to use him, seeing as he's worthless in the ring anyway. However, while it made sense to use him during his previous shoulder injury in a nonwrestling role, with a leg injury, he's not going to be walking around anytime soon.

It's a BIG surprise that will shatter the industry!

ROAD WARRIOR ANIMAL!

What about Funaki? He'd be great! Or Viscera! VISCERA FOR GM! *STEVE BLACKMAN*!

Who am I kidding. We all know it'll be Rob Black.

I hope it's not a McMahon. I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for a McMahon.
Since they mentioned Mick's name on RAW, I think that eliminates him from contention- but damn, I miss Foley.

I miss Foley, too, as I've said in another thread, but after reading this thread, there is one name that hasn't come up.

One guy who's available, logical, and would make for a good rival to EB, given their history.

They'd have to do some shuffling but what if Vince names...JR as the GM of SmackDown!?

It'd be just disappointing enough to be par for the course of late, without being totally hopeless as far as storyines go.

Just adding one more blind stab before the spoilers hit.

Later, Rudy

What I want to know is who Jeff blew to ghet paired with Trish? I seriously cringed last night and was thankful when Steven Richards prevented them from "kissing". It's just not believable. But beyond that I see no point.
