It's to bad this wasn't next week when my wife will be gone for a couple of days. Still, I just did it and can't wait to watch tonight!

-Geez, I really don't ever check my spelling, do I.
As for the network, i couln't wait, went and watched the end of WM30 again. The feed was HORRIBLE. Must be a ton of people going on. Can't wait for the "Did you know?" fact tonight.

Coincidentally, this is the first week that Saturday Night's Main Event has been made available, so there's that to enjoy!

I didn't get that text so I wonder if its just me or they can send texts out to non members only.

On a slightly different note, if you already have The Network how much of a price hike would be too much for you to sign up for another six months? I really like having it, but would probably cancel for anything more than a buck or two. Right now I only watch PPVs, NXT Specials, and an old ECW here and there.

Okay, I just talked myself into 14.99, but I could see talking myself right out of it again and would probably wait until The Rumble.

Edit #1 Just got the text.

Edit #2 clicked on episode #7 of SNME while at work, and saw Jake the Snake taking a shower with Damien wrapped around him while cutting a promo, just wonderful. This might cut into my ECW time.

I got notification via email from my WWE Shop account. I get maybe an hour of total TV time a day to myself so I still won't get the network. But not giving them a credit card number and not having to remember to cancel after a week is an attractive offer.

Went to go watch some SNME and the first episode I click on is Elizabeth saving Macho from Honky Tonk and the Hart Foundation by running in the back and grabbing Hulk Hogan, beginning The Mega powers era. Thanks buddy!

Started my free week by watching Money in the Bank, and damn the ladder matches were awesome! I think the midcard MitB had the better highspots, but the ladder match for the belts had more star power and was enhanced by Orton bleeding all over the place for the finish. It looked like he got busted open the hard way by the ladder, but he and Reigns definitely capitalized on it, Randy had a crimson mask by the end (something I didn't think they were allowed to do anymore now that it's all antiseptic and 'PG'). Time to go a little more old-school and watch the 2012 Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. I completely missed Daniel Bryan's first title reign, so I thought I'd catch up while I was also checking out some of Santino's big moments (such as they were).

I have the Network since day 1, and, at this point, I really see no reason at all why I should ever cancel my subscription. Maybe, if they would raise the price to $ 25,01 a month.

So, what did everyone juat watch this wee?

I'm digging the hell out of SNME. They only have shows from '85, '86, 'and '87, but since that was just before I started watching wrestling full time, there's some real gold in there I hadn't seen before. The November '87 episode has a great Macho/Bret match that made me wish they had a proper main event program together.

Now I'm checking out Terry Funk's WWF appearances from '85/'86.

Everything is awesome.

The Macho/Bret match and a 20 man Battle Royal are what I remember most from those shows and what I plan to seek out first.

These were a huge deal to me growing up. I never got the PPVs and waited for the VHS tape to show up at the video store.

I remember the Bret match being EPIC, but I only watched WWF back then so I hope it is still at least really good. The Battle Royal I watched a thousand times because I taped it, but its been so long I don't remember who won. Hercules?

Yeah, I remember that match fondly as well. Seeing Demolition before they were even close to being contenders, Andre eliminating Hogan and Lanny Poffo's head being split to holy hell by an Andre headbutt. But, yeah, Hercules winning was really an afterthought.

I just got done watching the battle royal. Amazing. Vince's commentary was probably the best of his career. The only thing that topped it was the after match interview with Heenan. There really will never be another Brain. Just masterful. Poffo bladed, right?

Edited to say that the retirement tribute to Piper is surreal and should be aggressively sought by anyone with working eyes and ears.

Also, every Hogan backstage interview is 87% better by imagining Hogan standing next to Mean Gene and not wearing pants.

I've been sticking to newer stuff myself, since I've had a few hiatuses after the Invasion angle. I just watched two awesome Elimination Chamber matches from 2012. In a way I kinda miss having two big titles because it allowed for a lot more people in the title scene. Maybe that's not such a bad thing with many of the main eventers in WWE currently injured, but it would definitely help elevate some guys who are near the top of the card but just can't seem to quite make it there.

Big Show had a rather impressive feat of strength in the second match, ripping enough of the chains on top of Bryan's pod loose to allow him to slip through and trap himself in the pod with the champion. As Booker T put it, it's like being trapped in a phone booth with an angry silverback gorilla. It was interesting seeing Barrett without the beard and the Bad News gimmick, and kinda crazy to see Santino be a serious contender for the World Title (being eliminated last by Bryan himself). Boy was the crowd popping hard for Santino doing the Cinderella story thing ... feels weird after witnessing the rise of the YES! movement to see Daniel Bryan as a sneaky heel again.

After this, I'll probably watch some of the ECW shows they put up since the last time I tried the Network. I'm eager to see the debut of Raven and the early days of Benoit and Cactus Jack.

I'm trying out the free preview but, to be honest, I wish they did a two tiered pricing plan. I would love a $3.99/$4.99 live feed only without the archives, especially if it was Chromecast/Apple TV-ized. I figure that is typically the "cost" for a cable channel and it could be a good way to introduce people to it.

Make the special events (PPVs - maybe the NXT ones could be like the old Clash free-per-view events) part of the full all-access package (or one-time for others).

Most cable channels cost about 16 cents per subscriber. Only the dumb sports channels are $5-7 dollars a month.
