While Bad News Barrett's surgery looks to have been a success, it looks like he'll be out for a while.

From Jim Ross:

Bad News for Wade Barrett as he will be out several months after undergoing serious and extensive shoulder surgery. Hopefully WWE can keep his TV persona alive with a new role on weekly TV or the Network utilizing the Brit's verbal skills.

Other folks like the Torch are speculating that Barrett might even be out until 2015. Either way, this really stinks for the poor guy, because it looked like he finally found a winning gimmick.

Damn, that does suck for him :/ Then again, he spent quite awhile just doing his 'Bad News' segments before he got back into active wrestling. Maybe they can have him come back now and again to make sure the fans don't forget about him and try and retain some of his heat.

They had Randy Orton do his "Updates" when he was hurt, why not keep the Bad News Barret going? It is a great gimmick that Barrett is doing well with and it keeps him in the spotlight while is not wrestling. I see no reason NOT to continue.

Life is hilariously cruel.

It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.

I....declare.....BANKRUPTCY!!!!

Are RAW and SmackDown still using GMs? He was already acting as The Authority's bully. Why not make him a spokesman?

Well, Brad Maddox was fired as Raw GM a few weeks ago. I don't think Smackdown's had an official GM for a while. Basically the GM position has been subsumed under the Authority.

But you're right, that opens up a nice niche for Barrett to occupy until he's healthy again. Give him the whole shebang: rising podium, gavel, the works, and have him demanding decorum and delivering bad news on a weekly basis.

I ask sincerely: Is it fair to look at Swagger for the injuries to Ziggler and Barrett?

Swagger clocked Dolph with the ladder, killing the title reign, the Thundarr Threesome, and Ziggler's main-event station. Swagger chucked Barrett into the railing with the hammerlock.

Aw, hell, that _does_ make sense. Vince said: "Every WWF superstar lost at the Royal Rumble. Every WWF fan LOST at the Royal Rumble. 'cause I'm about to do something that even I will regret.
