Wow. Today was the first day I watched that show in months (I too think it gets to be unbearable half way through an episode), and was wondering the same thing. Is that the same girl, though? Or did she get a haircut? I dunno. She looked different to me, for some reason.
And I, like everyone else here, I'm sure, am pretty confident I could be the Wrestling Geek.
I'll confess to having that thought as well What topics could they use for the GeekOff, though? I doubt there are enough topics that are both easy enough for non-fans while tough enough for the geek....

Yeah, she got a haircut and I think she dyed it too.

A) Blaine Kapatch, former MAD TV writer, is the new host. IMDHO, he sucks donkey balls through a garden hose. I had no problem with J. Keith VanStraaten, who (to paraphrase a recap term) did Perfectly Fine Hosting. If I hear "Thanks, Tiffany" in that mock G-S voice again, I'll sledgehammer my TV. Unlike HHH, *my* sledge will job.
I'll see if I can find out why there was the change.
B) Yes, that is still Tiffany.
C) BTG 2.0 is actually a bit better; they've updated the graphics a tad, the first round is actually watchable from a quiz POV, and the Three Geek-migos are still there. Blaine brings it down. Lemme put it this way -- a ***1/2 to **** show down to a **1/2 because of him.
D) BTG is *not* the best in the world. Maybe to you, but to me, a nice Password Plus or Jim Perry-hosted Card Sharks does the trick.

so, the 4th geek, the short haired music geek is gone?
You can't fire a gun in a confined space! What are you tring to do, make us deaf?!" "Just get out of the chopper." "What?" "Get out of the chopper!" "The crops!?" - Jack Lemmon and James Garner, "My Fellow Americans", and the reason I say "The crops?" instead of "Huh?"

I think short-haired Music Geek was gone after prolly 10-15 eps, when Andy took over; the reason why you saw Shorty enough times is due to the sensation of taping shows in order, not having a returning champion so that you can air them out of order.
AFAIK, all King World game shows, Weakest Link and TPiR are the only shows that have episodic numbers (even tho' WL doesn't have a returning champion). I would assume Pyramid will have episodic numbers b/c there's either going to be a returning champ plus celebs.
However, if you look at GSN's first-runs, CC's game shows and a couple of other games, they're completely out of order. BTG is more glaring cuz of the two music geeks.
I guess you could say Andy would be like Michiba on Iron Chef.
were they out of order? because it seemed to me that the music geeks would alternate shows because i've seen shows where they both were on with the same guest geek [007, star wars, star trek come to mind]

They were shown out of order, yes. IIRC, the first ep filmed was with the Star Trek geek from Trekkies (with the short hair music geek, I believe.). Marc Edward Heuck (The Movie Geek) previewed it at a rehersal for Shock Treatment at the NuArt Theater (where he's manager and projectionist) last October. All the shows are filmed over a few day period.
The short hair music geek might've been too busy with his dayjob (if Marc's any indication, the geeks all still have their dayjobs) to continue with the show.
Out of the Three Amigos, Both Andy and Paul have been on games as contestants before; Andy lost in a Terminator IIRC on "Greed," and Paul, of course, won a TV Land quiz bowl -- hence his "King of TV" moniker.
Paul has posted both on alt.tv.comedy-central, and alt.tv.game-shows; you can google it if you want. Interesting threads.
I'm more the Marc mark myself -- he seems to have the most out-there but coolest personality of the three.

I don't know the others personally, but yeah, Marc's pretty cool. He introduced me to the brilliance of "The Adventures of Captain Invincible", so I'm indebted to him for that.

And Van Stratton is gone? Shit.
holy crap, who is this new FAT, SHORT-HAIRED BLONDE MUSIC GEEK????
i heard rumors of having more than 2 music geeks so they would have different music tastes on the show...
damn...they just asked the tv geek who he'd like to see in a celeb boxing match, and he said to the new host "You and J. Keith Van Stratten"
"What? he'd KILL ME!"
word.
