Last week was our first episode without a Raven sighting since his debut. All was not lost however since we did get a CRZ sighting.

We start with still shots from last week of Public Enemy losing their Tag Team Titles to Sabu and Taz.

Chris Benoit video package follows. Lots of Benoit violence mixed in with hand rubbing in jean shirts. Watching this it's amazing Sabu is still walking, he seemed to bring out the worst in Benoit on a regular basis. Benoit disagrees with anyone who gets in his way. They really liked the hand rubbing in jean shirt clip, that can't be stated enough.

ECW Episode #95 ...

Joey Styles breaks it down for us. They are really pushing Benoit attacking Sabu after last week's tag match. Styles just confirmed my question on why we never saw any tag action ... VHS money!

Styles get serious as he tells us Public Enemy is out of action, AWWW, but he knows they will be back for revenge, Damnit.

Paul E Dangerously cuts a promo on Benoit.

The Giant Paul Lauria w/ The Sexiest Man on Earth Jason vs Mikey Whipwreck

They start brawling before Mikey hits the ring. Mikey throws Lauria in the crowd ... and they throw him back.

You know what, this was filmed at the same event as last week because we have another CRZ sighting on our hands.

Pretty standard match between these two. Neither one really knows how to sell anything other than being tired. Mikey ends up punching Jason who stuck his nose where it didn't belong and then reverses a backdrop pin thing into a backslide for the three count on Lauria. The crowd is pretty psyched and chants Mikey's name.

This was a different time and the underdog never won much in wrestling, so this was kind of a novelty. It's of course been done a million times since then with much better wrestlers, hell I even liked it better when Spike Dudley was doing this a few year later in the same promotion. In a way Mikey might have broken a little ground for future performers, I don't know if I am saying that or not because I always thought Mikey Whipwreck was a little boring.

Joey Styles takes us to a match from Florida which is in progress.

Cactus Jack vs Sandman w/Woman

Sandman hits a DDT and Styles thinks it's already over, but no only a two count. Cactus gets Sandman in a corner and pounds on his face with 10-15 legit fists to the face. Sandman looks dazed and goes outside. Jack follows and just crushes his skull with a brutal chair shot, and the second one was even nastier. Jack hits two more and the Sandman is busted open.

Cactus Jack grabs a table set up at ringside, no not the ones of today, but one of those real heavy banquet ones you would see at potlucks back when you were growing up and he throws it on Sandman's head sending him tumbling down in a heap.

Cactus Jack sets the table up but gets thrown into it by Sandman. Sandman can barely stand, but he gets the Singapore Cane from Woman and starts hammering on Jack anyway because that's what he does. Cactus Jack really deserves every bit of this and more for what he did to Sandman earlier. Oh Christ, Sandman sets up another Spike Piledriver, holds Jack for twenty seconds and delivers it. Jack isn't paralyzed.

Sandman grabs a smoke, but this allows Jack to make a comeback and Cactus starts bashing Sandman with the cane. Styles, "Sandman seems more concerned with his smoke than he does Cactus." Sandman picks up the smoke off the ground and takes more shots.

Sandman wanders around the arena and Jack follows beating on him the whole way. They climb a guard rail/fence and start fighting atop it and Sandman loses his balance and takes a nasty spill to the floor. They head back to the ring and Sandman does not look okay. Jack hits a sunset flip off the apron on Sandman who is still on the floor and gets the pin.

Back to Styles who breaks news on the last Sandman/Jack match that occurred at the Double Tables event. Sandman apparently suffered a severe brain concussion (no shit) and we will see highlights next week. According to Styles since this happened in Pennsylvania Sandman has to be put on a 21 day out of action list.

So, I don't know if the Florida match we just saw was before or after the one we saw in Episode #93, I'm guessing it was before because Jack's hand seemed okay. The reason I bring this up is Sandman was every bit as concussed as he was in the other Florida match. So in back to back events Sandman took two very serious looking concussions and kept getting beat in the head anyways. Has anyone seen Sandman recently? It's wild to think that this was okay only 20 years ago.

Anyway, Styles brings Sandman in for a word. The Sandman gimmick is really great. He never cared about wins and loses he just wanted to hurt people, and it never affected his standing because people bought into it. He has found a replacement to fight Cactus Jack and calls Style 'Todd Pettingill' Ha.

A replay of the Hack Meyers mess from last week.

Paul Lauria cuts a promo on Hack Meyers. Tells him to watch his ass. Tells Whipwreck it isn't over. Tells the crowd he is a giant and 911 is nothing. This of course brings out 911, Lauria steps up, then backs down some. Chokeslam. Heyman getting 911 over may have been his greatest trick ever. 911 listens to the fans and gives Lauria a second chokeslam.

Paul E Dangerously trolls the crowd a little and says two is enough. The ECW Arena does not care they want one more. He says two is enough. The chant for one more continues so he declares one more is in order "for the 90 of you who flew in for the computer circuit". CHOKESLAM! CRZ approves. The ECW Arena approves. ECWECWECW. We are out of time.

Cheers

That comment hurt worse than the loss. In reality you only lost $200 which is to be expected if you are bringing home way more than that.
