As a Bears Fan, I am happy about Kyle Fuller, he seems a good fit and we need to shore up the D a lot.
I feel for Johnny Manzell. Into the pit of quarterback hell that is Cleveeland.
I bet most folks in the Louisville area are surprised Calvin Pryor went before Teddy Bridgewater.
I was surprised that Matthews went so late. The man is an animal.
That is all

I can't figure out why or how Bridgewater fell so far, and as a Packers fan, I hate seeing him go to Minnesota. I fear the Vikings may have finally solved their QB problems.

I think this is the first draft in a long time that I can remember where there was no shocking reaches int he first round. It seems like each team filled a need, and no one went completely off the board. Even the Raiders drafted smart.
The only two teams I thought went in a different direction where the Giants and Cowboys. I thought the Giants would go OL to protect Manning and the Cowboys would go Defense. However, both picks were good picks and will help there teams.
Life is hilariously cruel.

Did you miss the Jacksonville pick?
Or the Steelers?
I like Bortles as a QB and although they should have tried to trade down, he is a Florida QB who will sell tickets and I think will be a decent QB for them for a long time. They need a face for the franchise and a QB. They got it both with one pick.
As for Shazier, a LB who can stop the run, protect against the pass and blitz the QB...what's not to like? And if a reply was it is too early, then I would retort with I would rather get the guy I want a few picks early then miss out on him altogether.
Again, it seems like everyone got what they wanted. Teams may have drafted them early (Bortles) or given up a little too much (Bills with Watkins) but I do see any "outrageous" picks where everyone completely trashes them for the pick.

Thrilled at the Browns draft on paper, as they got a top rated CB, a QB, and Buffalo's first next year. Wow.
Not necessarily thrilled by the choice of QB taken, but I can cross my fingers and hope. Just really glad he wasn't taken at 4.

At first I thought they were crazy to pass up a Josh Gordon/Sammy Watkins duo (then they could have any QB tossing out there and move the ball) but when I heard how many draft picks they got I quickly changed my mind. I don't know who made the picks but he's even better than Kevin Costner in "Draft Day".
Bortles doesn't sound like a winning QB name to me.
Gruden went 1 for his first 22 on getting the pick right. He was unbearable and I was hoping Cleveland was going to pass on Manziel just so his head would explode.
As a Patriots fan I am not thrilled about adding another defender with an injury history to the all potential but made of glass defense.
As a Cincy fan I wanted Bridgewater. Satisfied that we got a top rated CB so late in Dennard. Our D is going to have to win us a lot of games this year.

I don't think that was a shocking reach at all. I'm a Jags fan and I did not see them picking Bortles (I figured Watkins or Mack), but he was in the conversation for the #1 overall pick for a long time, so I'm not sure how going #3 is a "shocking reach."

Or the Lions? Taking a frickin' TE at #10?!?!?
I love Ebron. He is more a WR than TE. They have Fauria and Pettigree to do the blocking and such. Ebron will be a Graham.Davis type of TE who will be used in mismatches. Seeing single coverages with all the attention paid to Calvin will make it even easier.
I expect a big year from him.

I guess Michael Sam getting drafted in the 7th round answers the question if he would drop in the draft and how far.
Its not quite so cut and dry. His combine and senior bowl performance weren't great, so he probably would have fallen anyway. This (grantland.com) goes into it a bit more.
The most interesting part, in my opinion, is that some teams were hesitant to draft him because he would have been on the bubble and if they cut him, then they'd get blow back for cutting him because of his sexuality even though they had no problem with it. That's going to be especially interesting to follow since he'll play at such a deep position in St. Louis.

Agreed. Good for Sam for getting drafted, he kissed his love when he was like so many before him, but now he's the second best selling rookie jersey (behind Manziel) in the world and that has nothing to do with what he does on the gridiron.

There were a couple of mentions last night on ESPN Radio that Santonio Holmes used the ball as a prop after the big catch that would have resulted in a penalty that would have put the Cards in much better field position. The penalty was never called.
