Although to be honest, when he came in during the Booker T promo, my first reaction was "Wayne NEWTON?!"

Wow. I'm at work and we have a TV here. I was enjoying the Booker promo and when he came on, I thought, Who's the fat guy with the bad hair. When I realized, I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure it was Shawn Michaels. Of course, I can be real cynical and say 'Way to sign another non-wrestler Vince' but hey, for the first time in a while, I'm shocked. But who's he fooling with the black hair?

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

You know, that was an AWESOME moment until it, just like every other angle in WWE, had to come back to how great HHH is. I'm pumped to see where this goes though and if it brings in Scott Steiner I'll be a happy man.

I have never in my life hoped that a quarter hour share would tank more than this one.

Once again, McMahon looks to the future by rehashing the past.

TELL me I didn't just see that.

I live in great fear that Stephanie McMahon will be named head of Smackdown, using one of the following reasons: 1) because she's family, Vince "trusts" her; 2) Vince wants to complement the "son of a bitch" on RAW with an *actual* bitch ( ); or 3) (in storyline terms) he wants to keep HHH from going to RAW by putting Steph in charge of Smackdown!

Should this happen, I'd rather watch Cracka Ez-E than Stephanie Can't Act.

Well, I guess they've got some more material for Confidental now.....

Seriously, I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, the audience that's left is probably the die-hard fans that know Bischoff, so at least they recognize who walked out.

But, I think the problem that the fed had with Hogan is going to come up here. I can't remember who said it,(and I don't want to lead on that this is my idea), but the argument was that after years of the Company telling the fans that Hogan sucked, when he returned he was suppose to be "The Man" again. Well, I think that same thought applies to Bischoff.

I guess we'll have to wait and see where they take this. I hope they're not looking for a quick fix, though, because I'm certain that isn't going to happen

Oh, and ten bucks says Vince names himself GM of Smackdown to "compete" with Bischoff again".....

Remember when we wanted ECW vs WWE vs WCW? Well, the heads of those promotions can battle it out if Heyman is named GM of Smackdown!

Wow, now instead of Commissioner its "General manager"! Once again, this will be proof that WWE is just looking for a quick ratings fix. The payoff? Signing HHH? Umm...right. Can WWE ever do anything other than the evil owners?

No one felt it significant to point out WCW's downfall during the promo, and how many things Bischoff did blew up in his face. Kind of how WCW and ECW downfalls were played up quite a bit during the ridiculous Invasion angle.

Well, the match Benoit was in was pretty good.

The wife wanted to watch Pleasantville and the match lineup looked uninspiring, so I missed the first hour of Raw. She goes to bed, I click over, and there's Eric Fucking Bischoff in the middle of the ring. It's like opening my bathroom door and finding Amelia Earhart and Judge Crater in there playing pinochle.

Yeah, it's a SHOCKING SWERVE!, but Bisch's promo was pretty uninspiring. It reminded me a lot of HBK's recent promos about the nWo/Clique -- a lot of yattering on about how cool he -used- to be six or seven years ago. Which is the antithesis of cool. It'll be interesting to see if they actually change anything on the shows, or if it's just going to be the same old stuff except with Uncle Eric playing the evil owner instead of Vince.

And if the Cat shows up on my TV again, I will take up a collection to have Bischoff killed.

I am just upset that I got no closure from Booker T *sniff*. There he is with coach, saying "man, are you sure you're black?" something something Allen iverson style (WTF? had me cracking up) something something Can you dig that........ no payoff. He was holding it too, the crowd was yelling it, and then walks in Eric Bischoff. Darn you Eric Bishoff, for depriving me of my "SUCKA!".

Aside from that, I thought they did a good job so far. I marked out when Shane walked into Vince's office, I'll admit it. I was sure the managers were going to be Shane and Stephanie.

Damn right, the Cat ruled. I'd rather see him than Bischoff on there. I always likened him to the Earth-3 Bischoff. A very weird opposite number.

While ol' Ernest was a little shrill . . .for some reason when he came out with Ms Jones, I didn't seem to mind.

I agree with everyone on this. 1997 was the first time I ever got "in" with all the backstage stuff and the first bit of backstage news was the Montreal Screwjob.
