It won't. You'll have to add the channel on your Roku. You won't have to download the WWE app to any other device unless you choose to do so.

If I sign up, am I able to watch it on multiple devices? I don't want to be locked onto one device.

I'm sort of hoping that since Roku is going to carry WWE that I'll simply have the WWE icon on my Roku menu and be able to choose from there if I so decide.

I'm still in the initial stages of the streaming learning curve.

We're talking about two different things here. You only need to download the app to the devices you want to watch it on. So to watch it on Roku you'll need to go into Roku and download the Roku WWE app. I'll be using my PS3, so I had to go into my PS3 and download the PS3 WWE app there. You don't need to do anything with the tablet or phone app unless you plan on watching the network on those devices. However, in order to watch it you'll need to have the app downloaded somewhere.

You'll be fine, it's meant to work exactly the way you are looking for it to work. Your subscription is associated with your account info. You could put the app on your phone, table, computer, gaming device, and everything else just as long as you're not trying to watch the network on all those devices at the exact same time.

To prove to you, the loyal reader, that I am open-minded, I downloaded that network app this very morn. I have not subscribed as of yet because I want to hear how the first few weeks go. I could be talked into using the network for Mania. Keeping an open mind.

A question:

My 360 is set up so that I can view the US version of Netflix, even though I'm located in Canada. Will this setup work for those who want to view the WWE Network?

Not to be an alarmist or anything, but it's OMG LAUNCH DAY and WWE.com has been down for an hour, at least when I try and get on it. Not a good start.

It's working fine now, about 40 minutes prior to launch.

I'm not gonna say I'm stoked watching the first few seconds of the network, with Vince welcoming us all.... but I'm stoked. This is pretty cool.

My caveat for the service not having downtime is that the delivery of the video will be flawless. The website to sign up for things is a different story entirely; MLB Advanced Media has nothing to do with that.

Let's move this inane discussion from the EC thread over here where it belongs...

First, I don't "want" people to do anything - it's a free country and they can buy it or not. I'M going to buy it, and I'll try to buy it tonight.

There is no need to get it in March unless you really really want to see the Mania hype and the content that will be there when you ordered it in in April.
You have fallen into the trap of assuming that the only content of value is the PPV and that's it, and you're so focused on the PPV that you fail to see the bigger picture. It's like arguing that there's no need to pay for HBO this month because "The Sopranos" will still be on demand a month from now - hey, maybe I want to watch "The Sopranos" THIS week. I think an argument can be made that ten bucks is worth it to have access to every WrestleMania in March so they could be watched before this year's version. That's only one example; I didn't even touch the "new" content - which may suck or may be awesome, but I should probably sample it first before making a determination.

To be fair, after six months, how much past content are you really going to watch? The first run stuff is just the PPVs and the third rate shows.
I like NXT, but it's tough to watch on Hulu. If it's easier to watch on WWE Network, I'll probably start regularly watching it again. One example. I own a hell of a lot of WWE DVDs, but how often do I watch them? I'm still not going to throw them in the furnace.

Smackdown and Raw are still on a delay.
...and I'll still watch them live, but that doesn't affect my decision to purchase the network or not.

There is also the issue that the first week is going to be a problem for any website when its first release.
Perhaps that's why they decided to make the first week free.

You might as well wait to see if they can figure it out or see if it become RawCare.Gov
This joke wasn't much funnier the first hundred times it was tweeted. THANKS, OBAMA

Yeah, they have acknowledged this on their main page now. I can't even get the network.wwe.com to open right now.

[Quote] Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), WWE’s technology partner, was overwhelmed and their systems have been unable to process most orders since 9 a.m. ET due to demand for WWE Network. MLBAM has been working aggressively to resolve this issue. Your order will be processed as soon as possible.

I really like the how they worded this though.

As of 10:42am Pacific, I'm officially a subscriber. Network was showing last week's Superstars live. That was streaming OK. Picked WCW Uncensored 95 at random to test the PPVs On Demand. It won't start on my iPhone.

EDIT: This year's Royal Rumble is not available yet.

I'll be able to do this week for free, but it looks like unless you have a US billing address Canadians are still SOL.

Followed the free trial link and got a $9.99 hold on my card.

I'm subscribing anyway, so whatever, but I wanted my billing to start next week.

Wasn't there an extended version of the commercial opening the show? That said, it does kind of seem like a given that they'd want to put that commercial out as an "extra".
