Dudes, if it is up to me to start a RAW thread, we are all in trouble.

But I actually watched last night. Not into the Olympics except hockey and Curling so I thought I'd watch.

Out comes Betty White with the Show, as they have a cute conversation dropping the name of her show, and she says she is on Raw to Kick some ass!, out come Steph and HHH, hug Betty and then go to the ring to talk about the face of the WWE. After a few minutes both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan come out to argue for their merits as the face. Trips and his lady are having none of it and give Bryan the night off. They also inform us they have given Kane a suspension.

So, I won't be able to recap the whole show but here are my highlights.

The Wyatts faced Dusty's kids and Rey Mysterio in a 6 man that wasn't bad. Goldust can still go a bit. Good brawl and a pretty sick looking side bulldog at the end.

The other Shield guys goad Ambrose into a title match challenge

Fandango beats Santino in a bathroom break match

Sheamus and Christian beat Ceasario and Swagger. Some fair action here.

Del Rio beat Ziggler, but I turned away to watch a little downhill and didn't see the finisher.

Mr Ass and the Road Dogg try and play a prank on betty White but she turns the tables on her and while they are out doing comedy during a bit of a time filler between the Usos and the newly jobber Ryback and Axel, Mr. Ass apparently has an Ass leakage issue

Lita's in the hall of fame.

A returning Mark Henry wins over Ambrose by DQ when the Shield interferes and we have a staredown between them and the Wyatts

There is a cluster of a Diva match

Every Randy Orton and John Cena match ensues with Cena coming back for the improbable win

There we are

(edited by AWArulz on 11.2.14 1140)

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

This typo pretty much encapsulates my feelings about the matter.

This was a really dull show. Nothing much happened, except the stuff with the Wyatts and the SHIELD, which were easily the standout spots of the night. Their lack of actual WrestleMania plans are actively hurting the weekly show at this point.

Really liked Guys With No Last Names vs. Real Americans. Have Sheamus and Cesaro had a long proper match?

Hope Orton/Cesaro gets 20 minutes tonight and just go to town.

I'm now beginning to hope that Cesaro got put into the Chamber to set up a Sheamus/Cesaro Mania match. That would be a great undercard brawl.

I figured he was in there to carry the workload because they want to hold off putting Bryan in until the end.

But yeah, I want a good 10-15 minute Mania match with those two wailing on each other.

Was I hearing things? Did that wonderful crowd go BOO!/BOO! during one of Orton and Cena's punch exchanges?

About that Wyatt/Shield standoff...I loved it, the crowd loved it, it was booked in such a way to elicit a positive crowd response. Thing is, I can't figure out why I loved it. They're both heel factions. I should have no dog in this fight. I should hate all six of these guys and shouldn't care one way or the other how this match turns out. Yet, it's really, really exciting. Can't put my finger on it.

I almost gave up halfway through the show, much like it seems New WWE Broadcast Team Member Byron Saxton's facial hair gives up halfway down his face.

This was my guess as soon as the spoilers came out for the Smackdown where Cesaro and Christia were added. Sheamus vs. Cesaro has the feel of a hot opening match and losing to Sheamus wouldn't hurt Cesaro, especially if Sheamus is willing to eat an uppercut off his top rope dive and give Cesaro a few other big spots like that.

I think many of us will agree the highlight of the entire show was the backstage promo that consisted entirely of a close-up of Christian's bruised, ravaged face. ONE LAST MATCH.

(The actual highlight was the excellent Christian/Sheamus ("White Death?") vs. Real American match. Everybody was great in that, especially Christian, Cesaro and Sheamus. Great finishing sequence, too. Also, Zeb calling him "Mister Sheamus!")

It's getting to the point now that I think Reigns is getting the best introductory booking since Warrior. Even Goldberg had that weird dud with Mongo at Starrcade. Everything they've done with Reigns has been note-perfect, even to the point that his first pinfall multi-man loss seemed like a huge deal that didn't hurt him and made the Usos seems like big deals. Last night, he dominated the Shield and Shield/Wyatt segments, manipulating Ambrose into a match, then just kind of cracking up when it was Henry, without being over-the-top to the point that Ambrose looked like a dope for not calling him out. And Reigns came off like the biggest badass in wrestling when he was the one who took the first step back over the barricade, then onto the apron and then into the ring to call the Wyatts' bluff. Reigns has jumped past Deacon/Ric's Friend Dave Batista levels right to the cool, genre savvy badass Batista who beat HHH. If they end up giving Lesnar and Batista xx millions and don't use one or both to give Reigns a huge win, they're...well, right on target, I guess?

Speaking of Warrior, I really thought he was going to be the one to answer Ambrose's challenge, ala Honky Tonk Man. The place would have EXPLODED, about as much as the Warrior would have been by the time he ran to the ring. ;-)

And Wyatt is shaping up to be the heel side of that "perfect build" coin. The guy is unbelievably good in his role. He and Reigns really are the future of the business. Imagine a heel champion Wyatt/face Reigns main event - it would make money NOW, let alone in two years' time.

So, I was happy to hear that they'd given Alberto Del Rio his old theme back, as the newer upbeat one just doesn't fit for him as a heel. Then after his match they played the new theme anyway.

That's about all I've got.

God. Shield/Wyatts is like 49ers/Seahawks. It's the real Wrestlemania.

Randy may be a dud as world champion but the continuing line blur between his real life and character freakouts is gripping and wonderful.

["Same Old Shit" chants]
[Randy gets a gleam in his eye]
"AH! WATCH THIS! WATCH THIS!"
[top rope hanging DDT]
"I'VE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE, SO IT'S NOT THE SAME OLD SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH--!!!"

He had finally checkmated his tormentors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EROJk8tD218

"Bellas gonna ball?" I think Bellas gonna fall." - Eva Marie, gypsy sorceress. Cameron's finisher being called Girl Bye is joyous, but please please please also have her do the powerbomb.com.

I am proud to have broken the news on the Usos' imminent tag title win after the Royal Rumble. If the Real Americans split -- oh my god, it's all coming to a head in two weeks with Hogan and Swagger against Zeb and Cesaro -- I'm not sure who there is left for them to work with (briefly) at Wrestlemania though. I wouldn't have Harper and Rowan wrestle on the undercard. Mizzler (Mouths Make Unhappy)? Wrestlemania 20 commemorative 4-way? AIR BOOM?

Someone called 'em "Christmus." Pretty stellar. I can't quite get to "Irish-Catholic."

manipulating Ambrose into a match, then just kind of cracking up when it was Henry

Also: Seth runs in to break up the finish because he just wants everyone to stay friends forever, but Reigns stands there like "that's a shame. sorry about your slam luck."

It's getting to the point now that I think Reigns is getting the best introductory booking since Warrior.

Yep. With different booking (and/or a different talent who wasn't so good at the big and the little things), people would resent Tall Hoss 2014 getting pushed ahead of his indy partners and a free pass to main events. Instead, everyone is dyin' for it.

I remember this one from back when Cesaro was getting pushed the first time. IIRC one of the earliest usages of OH SHIT THE UPPERCUT.

I figured he was in there to carry the workload because they want to hold off putting Bryan in until the end.

That is a good quandary. Because you'd think THE AUTHORITY would rig the Chamber randomizer technology to make sure Bryan is first in and he could go end to end. But it would also be cool to stick him in his pod for a few cycles to let the Bryan chants build.

That Can-Eire Connection/Real Americans match was really great. I just wish Layfield and Lawler didn't feel the need to tell us it was really great every five seconds. That part wasn't so great.

Thanks for not dying, Betty! (Betty's 92, you know.)

OH I FORGOT, the Batista stuff had a tinge of desperation to it, trying to have him do something spectacularly badass and then (finally) positioning him in opposition to Triple H. And tragically, still boos. To me the question now becomes whether Del Rio will garner "¡SI!" chants at the PPV.

It was just a really cool segment. No words were needed, just like the HHH/Taker sign point moment. I felt like a kid watching badass LOD versus badass Demolition facing off. Very well done.

The Shield are becoming like Attitude era Stone Cold and The Rock. Not changing how they act, yet getting cheers because they are just cool.

Was Bryan's only appearance in the beginning when hey told him he wouldn't be on the show or did he show up again?

I didn't make it very far, but I would have liked to have caught The Wyatt/Shield stuff.

Kane made an appearance later in the show to apologise for his actions the previous week, and Bryan came down to attack him and force him to retreat into the crowd.

Both of these statements are 100% true. I wish Raw was just "Orton promo/Wyatts match/Shield promo/Shield match/Wyatt promo/excellent Orton match" with some D-Bry, another singles match, and one other good tag match. That is the Raw of my dreams. (Also, it's two hours long.)

HOW IS THE WWE CAPABLE OF THIS SHIELD/WYATT GOODNESS AND ALSO NEW AGE OUTLAW POOP JOKES ON THE SAME SHOW?????

Also, DEAN AMBROSE DEFENDED THE US TITLE. <3 Only 15 weeks until the next one, eh, Dean?

I think maybe Reigns is going to have the career Lex Luger SHOULD have had.

This was a much better show than I expected it to be.
The opening segment with Orton and Bryan was good.
I liked the fine line that HHH&Steph walk, between heel and face. I mean, they are obviously heel but not everything they do is handwringingly evil.

the ChristMus/Real Americans tag match was great.
Please let them go for the Sheamus/Cesaro WM match.
Sheamus would be beet red at the end of the match from all the hitting and slapping.
And Cesaro's pop was great. The crowd really helped him here.
This is the type of performance (and response) that gets noticed and should result in a push.

Shield-Wyatts. Wow. Everyone is playing their parts perfectly in this one.
What I liked is how Reigns is the first one to get into the ring, but the two other Shield guys don't stay behind. No heel cowardice by Dean.
The Wyatts looks just as bad ass. Bray stepping down wasn't true heel cowardice. It befits his character and the mind games. (Just like I love how he laughs after getting blindsided/losing/when things don't go his way. It's all part of the games)
I was sitting on the edge of my seat throughout this segment.

The only thing I fear is that it'll be over after EC.
Wyatt saying others await makes me fear he's going back to Cena.

Oh and Steph looked hot last night.
