I should probably be asleep right now, but eh.

Spoilers down below, if indeed NXT can be spoiled...

Our group at work broke at 4 and I realised that I WOULD be able to easily make the NXT taping (doors 5:45, bell 6:30), so by the time I got back to the hotel to buy a ticket online...I was a half hour after the online sale closed. Drat! I decided I could chance it and drove to Full Sail Live, where I was mistaken for a student and charged five bucks instead of the ten I would have paid online. Sweet! Parking was free - sweet! Florida was in the 40s and I was in shorts - less sweet! But I didn't have to wait too long before I got in.

It's a very nice place - a cozy studio probably holding an audience of about 500 (I could look this up but why?)

I got bleachers seats, three rows off the ground. (Second row that was open - they ended up pulling the ropes once the crowds were filled in and plopping people on the front row behind the floor seats later) Good and close to the ring. I tried to take lots of crappy photos; we'll see what came out when I get back to my home laptop. I'm pretty sure I caught Adrian Neville in mid flippy-flippy but never properly captured Summer Rae's abs - and believe me, I tried.

Dark match saw Jason Jordan beat Baron Corbin.

They taped four episodes, and I believe that means the four leading up to the "NXT PPV" airing 2/27 on El Network. I also believe they tape 'em out of order. The go home sight of Adrian Neville standing over Bo Dallas is sure to drive everyone who watches NXT to catch the PPV, I'm sure. This was the result of a holla holla match pitting Neville & Mason Ryan against Alexander Rusev and Bo Dallas after Nevill ran in to counteract Rusev running in to give Ryan a DQ victory against champion Dallas. I just said all that backwards so you may still not be spoiled!

Neville had a match earlier in the show/a previous week, pinning uhhhhhhhhh I've already forgotten. Tyler Breeze? The dude with the smartphone entrance. Yeah.

Same week as Neville's first match (2/19?), Emma (with Bayley) beat Summer Rae (with Sasha Banks and Charlotte) and The Ascension beat Ready for Action.

Same week as Neville's second match (2/26?), Bayley beat Sasha Banks (with Summer Rae and Charlotte) and CJ Parker beat Big Cass Colin Cassady - it took me way too long to figure out Cass' chant.

Guessing 2/5 or 2/12 episode?: The Ascension beat Ready for Action II, Charlotte (with Summer Rae and Sasha Banks) beat Bayley, Antonio Cesaro beat Justin Gabriel in the match of the night, Adam Rose (who is not Leo Kruger despite several signs in the audience suggesting otherwise) has an entrance that got way, way over and also he beat the dude with the cowboy hat with BLAKE on his trunks and Rusev (with his manager/interpreter/blonde) beat Xavier Woods (with "Somebody Call My Momma" theme but on his lonesome).

Guessing 2/5 or 2/12 episode?: Summer Rae (with yes and yes) beat Aksana, Aiden English sang a lot, got very red but beat Big Cass, Oliver Grey beat Sylvester LeFort's French protege whose name I have already forgotten, and do they air the "main event" matches? If so, then The Ascension finally got an entrance but lost via DQ to Goldust & Cody Rhodes. Ring announcer Brandi Rhodes didn't let us know she was married to Cody and I want to say she used a completely different name (Dawn something?)

Two commentary teams got intros: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Tensai and Alex Riley and William Regal. I may be getting the groupings wrong there. Who cares?

What you REALLY want to know about are all the CM Punk chants, right? Well, there were CM Punk chants. The thing is they weren't much different from what are probably any other chant in an NXT college crowd - about a dozen guys start a chant, and the sheep join in. Punk was NOT the most over man of the night - I'd say that was split between Cesaro and the Rhodeses. The Punk signs were duly confiscated by the crack sign police. They also gave a mandatory time out to a gentleman who deigned to throw up a BATHROOM BREAK MATCH sign - I guess "bathroom" is a verboten word. What was funny was they would occasionally air a toy or video game ad where Punk was prominently featured. One thing I will say is that the crowd was so busy trying to work up Punk chants which will surely be edited out that they totally forgot to do their #YesMovement chants. Oh, and during the three Ascension matches they seemed pretty pleased with their "Yah!" chants - mostly the two dudes in front of me who seem to believe they started THAT phenomenon. (I kept my eyes from rolling.)

They finished at three hours on the dot - very impressive. It did drag a little bit towards the end. Bleachers are uncomfortable if you're not a college student! I don't know how the elderly couple I sat next to made it (although the man DID trip on his way to the floor, so....maybe not so well!)

I will either be alllllll over the television or you won't see me at all due to my placement behind a turnbuckle. I'm right in front of two guys with WAWA shirts.

JBL has promised lots of excitement on the NXT PPV and if you buy tickets for it AND the 2/28 next NXT taping, you'll get a VIP package, meet & greet opportunity and a gift bag! Special guests include Shawn Michaels AND Bret Hart, Paul Heyman and John Cena. I would totally do it if I weren't going to be in Minnesota for the rest of my life after today.

Full Sail is less than a mile from a Steak and Shake, so it was a very, very good night for me. Speaking of... good night.

I forgot to add that it got to the point where, any time a "C-M PUNK" chant would start up, another group of dudes would add a "QUIT!" chant to fill the pauses. Kinda funny.

Thanks for the report! One other site said these tapings were for March, which makes no sense and spoils the PPV title match, so I'm taking your word here.

"SAWWWWWWWFT!!"?

NXT is a great lil show, and I'm really glad it's on Hulu for free now.

No Sami Zayn? I guess he's still legit injured...though they are building to a rematch with Cesaro when he's healthy again...

I had read somewhere that Zayn wasn't going to be cleared until just before the "PPV."

I kinda expected to see Paige, too, but she didn't appear. She WAS mentioned for the PPV as well.

When you say PPV, does this mean special on the network or are they really going to try and get actual PPV buys for this too?

I think she's also injured, I remember a reference to that during Bayley's match last week.

Special on the network only, but built towards like a PPV.

it's cause he has hippie hair. Lots of us more mature folks with longer hair (although not me - mine hasn't been longer than my military haircut since I went in 38 years ago), but most longer haired older guys look a tag scraggly. Zed just looks like old hippie. They might have tought he was coming to try out. Long hair is de rigueur for your wrestlers.

I gave them a tenner and they still gave me five in change with my ticket. So I used it as my tip for the nice old lady Steak and Shake waitress on my whopping $12 bill (which I put on the expense report). CRZ: He pays it forward.™

Nice report! NXT is the only WWE product I watch on a regular basis / follow more than passively. When I went to Florida in December for SHINE I also checked out an NXT house show at the FCW arena. I already knew a few people out there from when they wrestled in California, it was really cool to see them again and I got to meet Becky Lynch ( Rebecca Knox in SHIMMER ), Emma, Byron Saxton & CJ Parker ( who's actually a pretty cool guy .) Steve Keirn ( Skinner ) sold me nachos

I'm a little late on getting them onto Flickr, but you can get a sense of the view I had in my photo set (flickr.com).

(SPOILER ALERT: They've been REALLY good about training people to act towards the hard camera and keep their back to us most of the time, so expect lots of butts)

I love the look on the Taker's face as he tries to no-sell the goldfish slap...yet he still sheds a tear. *insert expected comment here about the dead goldfish being a more interesting opponent than The Great Khali*
