Honestly, good on him for getting an NFL job, which he's never denied has been his ultimate goal. Good on him for getting the yutzes in charge to reduce his buyout by $13 million just before he interviewed. Good on him for getting a job closer to a reknowned Children's hospital for his son, who is severely disabled because of a congenital brain deformation. I'm still bothered, as an alum and fan, that he was telling recruits and players as of 2 days ago that he wasn't leaving. After waiting decades to finally hire a new coach, it's irritating to have to repeat that after only two years. I also don't understand why he fired 2 coaches a month ago if it's true that he told a reporter he wouldn't be the coach in a month.
I do get why he left, though. When the sanctions were announced in 2012, we still had a lot of underclassmen on scholarships. A lot graduated the past 2 years, and there are still years of scholarship reductions (3, I think?) to go. He kept the win-loss record consistent. The same core of players on the 2011 team that had 9 vacated wins went 8-4 and 7-5 with O'Brien. We'll be lucky to see 15 wins combined the next 3 years, so why not jump before your stock plummets?
Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

Fixed that for ya since Lovie's coming home where he belongs.
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
O'Brien's interview on PennLive should scare the hell out of anyone wanting the PSU job. The cult of Paterno is going to do more damage than any sanction or fine.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

Loved how O'Brien referred to them as "zombified acolytes".
