(That's one reason I liked First Class: it was almost Wolverine free.) Not to say Wolverine shouldn't be there, but maybe not everything should be about him. What about Jean Grey recast to be young? Famke Janssen was 30 when she crushed James Bond between her legs, and that was 5 years before X-Men 1. What about a real Storm who's not a perpetually miscast Halle Berry, her Oscar aside? This franchise needs a youth (not a CW youth, mind you) injection and a completely new vision of the X-Men. Maybe someday. I mean, it'll have to happen eventually.
But this is FOX we are talking about. The rumors for the Fantastic Four reboot has been scary. Miles Teller for Mr. Fantastic? Michael B Jordan for Johnny Storm? Hopefully the X-Force movie will have an all different, younger cast.
If you look at the DOTFP trailer, you will see Hugh Jackman is the only actor on the first credits screen. Then the 2nd screen has the oscar winners and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. So yeah, they are going to revolve it around Wolverine. I can't imagine them putting Juno on the forefront like the actual comics, she is a B+ player at best.

Regardless, I'll be in line opening day with fingers crossed in an X for DOFP.
CBR makes me look like a rational fanboy at times.

The great hope has to be Marvel finds a way to get those movies back under the Disney brand. Even then, I am not sold on going younger for these roles since we did that for First Class which worked once. It would be like doing the Star Trek reboot two years from now with a younger cast.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
But the X-Men are supposed to be young. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Angel, Iceman - they're supposed to be kids when we meet them. Iceman was the only one who started off as a teen. It was always weird Bryan Singer set the rest of those characters already in their 30s. As for whatever First Class - which again I really, really liked - did, setting it in the 60s with a weird hodgepodge of characters, those were some of the strangest choices of all.

You don't want to see a reboot, though? That's my dream for the mutants: a total top to bottom reboot of the X-Men movie franchise. Everything that came before, gone. It won't be painless, losing Hugh Jackman, Academy Award winners Jennifer Lawrence and Anna Paquin, Sir Ian McKellan, Sir Patrick Stewart, etc. But they've done their service.

The thing is, you don't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Wolverine and the X-Men is one of the best comics on the stands. Can you imagine a film version of that? Hugh Jackman heading up a younger cast with cameo appearances from the rest of the old cast, or even using Ian McKellan as the main villain with his own band of young mutants (which I know they actually did in X3, but I mean good this time)? Just because you want to inject some youthful energy into the franchise doesn't mean you need a complete reboot. It's what the X-Men have over virtually every other major film property.
Meanwhile, a The Wolverine sequel is in the works. (THR.com) I liked The Wolverine and the ending was open ended with Logan and Yukio, his "bodyguard." Will be interesting what Mangold does on his own instead of picking up the pieces left by Darren Aronofsky.
I thought Wolverine* was retiring from being Wolverine?

Wow, the alternate ending (comicbookmovie.com) of The Wolverine teased the classic Wolverine costume. Also a behind-the-scenes clip for Days of the Future Past.
