That and the very good 6-man were the saving grace. I mean yeah Punk and Bryan teaming is cool. Happy for Tyson Kidd. Happy for Ziggler getting to beat Michael McGillicutty -- it's come to that. But we need to Van Winkle the rest of calendar 2013. Just sim the remaining 7 Raws.
So what's the boringest case scenario to prepare for? I suppose Big Show winning the title and then dropping it to Triple H.

The inevitable Big Show/Kane feud, culminating at TLC, of course. Hard to believe that these two guys have been going at it for almost 15 years and have still yet to put up anything even remotely watchable.
-or-
The Corporation, led by Triple H and Randy Orton and flanked by The Shield and Korporate Kane. The only one who can stop them? Why, John Cena, of course! And naturally, he'll be the one to beat Randy Orton in the main event at Wrestlemania.

"Playing guitars. It's hard to sing while playing...guitars."
Nah, HHH as champion would surely give us more "RVD, Jericho and Edge" moments, and those are not boring. Boring is Orton vs Show at Survivor Series and a rematch at TLC and then vague directionless TV before they realize they don't have a challenger set up for Rumble.
"Big Show Talks/HHH Talks" main events make me tune out at the end of Hour #2. So, yeah, how about that awesome 6-man main event? I know Cena isn't the most popular guy, but I'm glad he's back because he's usually involved in good matches.
It's built into Big Show's real life contract that he gets at least one main event push/match a year, right? Sure seems that way.
I really like how competent they're making Orton in the ring as champion, but I don't like how all of his emphasis is as HHH's proxy. It's actually justified if it's setting up a HHH turning on Orton moment where he seizes control of the WWE Title and they do some sort of "Absolutely Corrupt" twist to the angle... but only if it were done properly (meaning Orton still remains a heel/tweener), but that's a BIG if, and HHH has to then face CM Punk or Bryan and get his comeuppance for messing with their careers.
Everything since, say, Night of Champions has been a real slog until we get to the Rumble, and even then there's no guarantee that things will get better as we head to the big milestone WrestleMania.
Worst case scenario is Show beating Orton and headlining against Kane, yeah. It makes both of Orton's reigns this year a complete waste, it keeps Show in the main event picture, and Kane is probably his worst main event level opponent.
The worst case scenario is going on now, there is no need to speculate. They had better stack the Rumble full of returning legends and a few dream matches other than Taker at Mania, because Orton/Cena as the main event will be as interesting as a school board meeting about which color to paint the gym. SS won't crack the top ten ppvs this year.

I honestly don't get why some people even post if all they want to do is complain (well, no, I do - the Internet and everything)... I'm absolutely convinced that, at this point, the entirety of Raw could consist of a three hour Daniel Bryan/CM Punk match and people would still complain.
I mean you got pretty much non-stop wrestling, with minimal segments - especially in the first hour - with a mix of new faces and established faces all centred around the championship belt and I've never seen so much hand-wringing...
Randy holds the title to Wrestmania, defending against Bryan. (who will have beaten HHH to earn his spot in the main event against Orton)
Lesnar returns at RR and screws Cena out of the title. Punk wins the rumble itself, getting a shot at redemption that we can actually give a crud about.
Leaving Cena with the BLATANTLY FREAKING OBVIOUS choice of The Undertaker.
Kane in a suit may just be the most bizarre thing I've seen in all my years of watching wrestling.
(He looks so much like John Laurinitis that it's rather hilarious, actually).
You do realize that the current "worst-case scenario" is merely a matter of building long-term heat, right? You're supposed to get angry, so that you'll be that much more elated when the good guys finally triumph.
Which, I'm hoping, will culminate with Daniel Bryan winning the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at WrestleMania XXX.
Be patient and let them tell the story they're trying to tell! Jeez, have you ever watched anything in which the good guys always have their way?!
And in the meantime, having Daniel Bryan and CM Punk feud with The Wyatt Family isn't that bad of an idea. I personally find The Wyatt Family rather interesting, and very different compared to most other WWE heels.

Somewhere in the back, Jojo pulled her curly hair out and kicked a Total Divas camera man in the shins.
Show was so absolutely 100% convinced he was going to win his lawsuit and own the company, he gave it all up for a title shot at Survivor Series. Remind me to play poker with both Big Show and Triple H. A couple of dummies.
Triple H: "You wanna stand here and trade sophomoric barbs all day, I think I can hang with the best of them!"

Mm-hmm. Win the lawsuit, and you'll own the company, and you can give yourself a title shot at Survivor Series.
Plus there's the fact that no court in the world would agree to several billion dollars in damages over defamation, wrongful termination and the other couple things he mentioned. (To say nothing of the fact that this all happened on a professional wrestling program, so they'd be all, "But it's just fake, right?")
Pro wrestling always does require suspension of disbelief.

I am not sure why people are complaining about Punk and Bryan working with the Wyatts, who many have complained have floundered since SummerSlam. If Punk and Bryan are truly made, main event guys (and they both are, to an extent) then that is what main eventers should do when they are not in the main event: help elevate other guys up the card.

Kane walked out, threw chairs in the ring and cleared the announce table. He did not lay a finger on Big Show. I could see him standing back as muscle for The Authority until Stephanie pulls out the mask to unleash the monster.
Tyson Kidd was on FIRE last night. Looked jacked, too. Kinda Dynamite Kid-ish with a splash of Benoit put in. Now, if he can develop a personality.
During the wedding vid/pics, saw Harry Smith as one of the groomsmen. Harry's back on Raw! Was Bret anywhere in the crowd? Anvil looked gassed walking down the aisle.
Not sure why they brought Kane back before last night. Bringing him out in a suit and tie, out of the blue, would tie nicely into Bray's "the Devil made me do it" hints from last week. The Wyatts reprogramming the monster and lending him to the Authority, so to speak.

This would alleviate at least some of the problems I had with Kane showing up and not caring about the Wyatt angle, but now that we've seen Corporate Kane, I just want them to inexplicably have him become Concerned Politcal Pundit Glenn Jacobs, aka CITIZEN KANE, and for Citizen Kane vs. David Otunga to be the Miracle on 34th Street Street Fight this year.
What I really want from this is for poor Miz to be repackaged as a hillbilly zombie to go with Harper and Rowan as part of the Bury Miz tour.

Big Show, in order to defeat the combined power of The Authority and Citizen Kane, is forced to steal THE MASK AND WIG OF KANE and put it on, in order to be imbued with THE POWER OF KANE. It works, but he becomes fully possessed by the KANEFORCE, just as Bray Wyatt has been planning. (The "Devil" that gives Bray his orders is the same Devil who has chosen the Kane entity as his favorite demon.) Now fully evil and with the KANEFORCE power added to his own, The Big Show sets out to destroy The WWE Universe once and for all. This, of course, draws the attention of the ANCIENT SNAKE GOD who has chosen Randy Orton as its own avatar, and the two engage on a war on multiple planes of existence (and also the Royal Rumble), finally requiring The Undertaker to return and challenge them both to a match at Wrestlemania XXX with the fate of all creation and The Streak hanging in the balance.
OR!
Citizen Kane interferes in Big Show/Orton at Survivor Series and Big Show is forced to call upon David Otunga for a Showtunga vs. RKaneO tag team Desks/Corporate Ladders/Office Chairs match at TLC, with courts agreeing that the winning team controls WWE. Showtunga wins, Show gains controlling interest in the company and rebrands himself by finally taking on the name "Titan" that he was supposed to debut with all those years ago.
