I think it was established that the virus has always been airborne thus they are all infected. I do think that a new illness could occur, but I get the feeling the original has mutated into something else.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
What's to stop the zombies who are getting picked off outside the fence from piling up ala World War Z and climbing up over the fence? You can't tell me that they are able to go out there and clear the bodies out very easily.
I hope it wasn't the deer Daryl bagged. The kid thanked him for it in the outdoor commissary. If this is a mass food poisoning, they could lose the vast majority of the new prison population.

I'm thinking that someone will eventually remember that Herschel was a vet, and he'll get around to taking a look at the pig only to find it's dying of West Nile virus or something. They'll assume the kid died from the same thing and come to a realization that their feeling of safety is a false one.
Assuming Herschel isn't eaten in the next episode or two, of course.
My girlfriend likes the idea that Milhouse died because Daryl licked his fingers then shook his hand. Not because that theory makes any sense, but as she put it: "That means touching Daryl is enough to kill you! That makes him even MORE badass!"
1. The episode was flat. I expected more and felt this should have been a mid season palate cleaning episode, not the season premiere.
2. I thought it was a baby in the bag. The governor had heads in jars. I know we have seen half bodies crawling around, but have we ever seen just a head?
3. What use is Tyrese? None. Get rid of him.
4. Carol teaching the kids how to protect themselves was awesome. For a character I hated so much when the show started, I love her now. Her character transformation has been great. And I assume she is with Darryl now?
5. Logic says the pig is the cause but I think it might be something else. Plus do Walkers eat animals? I did not think so but might be wrong.
6. I agree with the theory on the eyes. They spent a lot of time on that one Walker at the fence. There has to be a connection.
7. The first thing I said with the sick pig was "where the hell is Herschel?"
8. I hate Maggie. I hope she is the next to go. I would rather have Glenn solo. And thank GOD she is not pregnant.
9. I am intrigued to see where they are going with Beth. Her character has been vastly underutilized. It would be smart to give her more of a bigger supporting role. The show could use it.

The governor kept some in his man cave.

I agree that Show-Tyrese is a joke. Comic-Tyrese is most definitely not a joke and the inclusion of Daryl into the show is our consolation prize for that. Imagine if instead of a redneck with a crossbow, Rick's right hand man were a former NFL player with a claw hammer. That's Comic-Tyrese.
Show-Tyrese becoming more like Comic-Tyrese is a very good thing for us and a very bad thing for the walkers.

Well unless show-Tyrese has a change of major change of heart, that is going to be stretch since he does not like to go out for runs or kill Walkers at the fence.

I'm gonna wait for his back to be against the wall like they showed in previews. Something could just snap with the guy.
On the Talking Dead this week, Gimple talked about how it was very important to them to show a transformation of his character.
Comic-Tyrese was always Comic-Tyrese. I guess they wanted to show a transformation from Show-Tyrese to Comic-Tyrese, which involved making the poor character that Show-Tyrese is.
Wpob was just talking about how much he loved Carol's transformation. artistic types love transformations.
I don't know, it kind of makes more sense to me that there would be a lot of people in the world of the Walking Dead who are just ill-equipped to deal with the walkers. Maybe they've survived by being good at other stuff (hunting, finding shelter, etc.), but they need other people to deal with the shambling corpses. And Tyrese isn't even bad at that, he just hates doing it, which honestly seems like the most reasonable response any human being could have. Constantly staring death in the face shouldn't become passe. It should be troubling all the time.

Saw a theory elsewhere that this new virus might be the result of the food they are growing is being planted on the ground where they had buried all those walker bodies after they cleared the prison. Would YOU want to eat veggies grown in the dirt filled with rotting flesh? Count me in. I want to say, "Nice going, Rick!", but the garden out there was Herschel's idea. Nice going, Herschel!
