"30 Days Without An Accident" and the sign in Beth's cell might be my favorite little joke ever in this show.

Daryl's a rock star. Ladies love him. Meta.

Rick smiled. Twice. Michonne smiled. Brings Carl comic books.

Carl's the boss of the kids. The kids don't like it.

D'Angelo from The Wire's on the show.

Kyle Gallner from many shows, I know him as Impulse from Smallville, was on the show until a Walker ate him and a helicopter fell on him.

Kerry Condon from Rome was the crazy lady in the woods.

Tyrese doesn't like stabbing Walkers in the fence. He doesn't like nearly dying on a run. He doesn't like anything. Nothing pleases this guy.

Maggie's not pregnant. Glenn is relieved.

There's a ruling Council at the prison. Rick's not on it. He's just the main farmer everyone is worried about.

Hershel continues to be Rick's psychiatrist.

The Governor is still out there. Michonne thinks he's in Macon.

Beth doesn't cry anymore.

What happened to that Milhouse-looking kid? Is there a new Walker virus? Shit.

I'm pretty sure that the kid just had some other random, lethal infection. It underscores the fragility of any kind of peace in the world of the Walking Dead. How many times do you hear about a sudden, unexpected death? A heart attack while sleeping? Slip and crack your skull on a table? One accidental death at a time when there's no one around to observe it means that there's suddenly a walker outbreak and who knows how many more people are going to die.

This show is kind of tedious. Elaborate gross-out zombie antics (exploding heads, intestines dangling like rope-ladders)? Check. Gratuitous Rick is stoic and noble scene? Check. It's just the same thing over and over. It's TOO formulaic. So many of the people who were killed off are more interesting than the folks we've got left.

The one idea that the show appeared to be hammering home was that everyone was eating meat. They're raising pigs. They're chowing down on deer. Of course, if the animals are infected, well...yeah, that's going to be a huge problem.

Whatever did the pig in, did the kid in. Some airborne virus, tainted food, swine flu....or something. The kid did a great job of tainting the shower water supply before going!

Glad to have the show back!

The pig is ill. The pig is dead. Pity there isn't a farm veterinarian around to consult. Oh, wait.

Could be a new zombie virus, could be any manner of contamination -- water, food supply, etc. (I will observe though, that we made a big show of Darryl licking his fingers before he shook hands with Patrick, & then suddenly Patrick gets sick. Carol better not be swapping spit with Darryl!)

One of the first things Hardwick said was exactly the same thing I thought while watching: "It's raining zombies!" (Halleluja. Amen.)

I had a lot of issues with this episode, but mostly overall, it was just weak. It seemed like a lot of the writing was less deep than last season. There were things that were too ... obvious. Things that were just kind of gratuitous. I wasn't a big fan.

Let's stab the zombies in only one spot along the very thin fence. What could go wrong?

Well, that was the point (no pun intended). The walkers are only going to one spot now instead of spreading out.

Yeah, I didn't dig this episode very much. The raining walkers, while a novel idea, got stupid pretty quickly. They were shambling around up there for months. How did they not fall through the ceiling before?

When I saw that Vincent Martella (the voice of Phineas from Phineas and Ferb) and Kyle Gallner (Beaver from Veronica Mars) were going to be on this show, I thought that was cool. So, I was pretty disappointed when they immediately died.

I'm going to need more in depth reviewing since this was one of the channels I lost when I just went to digital antennas. Yes, I can see Raw on Hulu.

I can't do full recaps of The Walking Dead. My recap card is already fuller than I would like with Arrow, SHIELD, and soon Total Divas.

Kind of shocked, and pretty glad, no one made a "Clean up on aisle 5!" joke during the walker supermarket sweep scene.

When Crazy Lady was surprised Rick called the zombies 'walkers', it was a reminder that the word 'zombie' doesn't exist in Walking Dead World. Which then brings to mind, then Rob Zombie and The Cranberries song "Zombie" also don't exist.

Funny thing is, The Cranberries song works better if it was "The Walking Dead."

Argh, fuck you That's gonna be all I hear from now on.

Thought it was a good episode, and I do wonder what is up with the Milhouse kid...
But it doesn't really matter right? THey all turn zombie after death anyways? Unless he's got an aggie version that turns you undead before it's your time.

I know the big theory out there now is that the zombie virus has gone airborne, but I think that would just be stupid. There's no fear in getting bit anymore if you're running some random risk of getting infected just by hanging around.

I personally have thought the same way as Tenken347 in that it's just to show that total safety will never be possible as long as "we're all infected". However I have been shouted down when trying to explain that idea as it's not as exciting as "OH MAH GOD NEW VIRUS!!!!" or "TOUCHING DARYL KILLS YOU!"

The walkers falling through the ceiling was an interesting idea, but watching it I just felt like it was missing something in it's execution. Like they needed a wide shot of the group panicking while they fell around them or something. There was something really off in the filming of that scene that I can't put my finger on. Daryl climbing a box of beer 2 feet in the air caused all walkers around him to stand still and patiently wait for Glenn to come kill them. Stuff like that was just weird and not the kind of thing the show does.

I liked Rick's 3 questions, especially the first one (How many walkers have you killed) which I think is the most telling out of the three. Someone who says "I don't know, hundreds?" is probably not giving as good an answer as someone who pauses and says "27".

From the guys on Talking Dead afterwards, it sounds like we're going to lose some people in the next episode. Zombie Milhouse was certainly going to kill a few people before the prison recovers and deals with it, but they made it sound like we're going to lose people we know rather than have it be all extras.

And of course, Michonne is going to hunt down the Governor, who in leaked footage is shown enjoying his road trip away from the pressures of leadership.

Maybe I missed something, but what was with the Crazy Lady's bag moving, after she had been killed and Rick left the scene?

Her scenes were probably the most taxing on me, as a viewer. Throughout the series, I've always gotten excited when new survivors have wandered into the story, but I could not have cared less about her.

The Big Spot fight seemed like something we would've seen in season one or two.

I think the insinuation was that her husband's head was in the bag. Kind of a low-upkeep version of the Governor keeping Penny alive because they can't accept the person is dead.

She wanted fresh meat for him which is why she brought Rick back to the camp.

Got it. Thanks. Hurt that the group I was watching it with kept insisting that Crazy Lady was really talking about a baby the entire time. "It's a zombie baby!" was what they got out of it. Figured that wasn't correct.

Yeah, I found that whole subplot to be extraordinarily tedious. Her situation & backstory were both pretty implausible. (She was a lot of a mess, for having such a nice, tidy tent set-up. Hard to believe that there are swarms "right close by" at the prison, & her camp is untouched right there in plain sight. And are we really expected to believe that she decapitated the guy herself with her cute little knife?) We've run into crazy people before without taking half an episode to deal with. Yes, Rick's gone soft & stupid (Regardless of her request, he should have dispatched her before she turned, wandered back over to the fence, & was just one more walker to poke with a sharp stick.) & has lost his edge, but this all was a pretty dreary way to demonstrate that.

I totally agree. Peeking behind the curtain, I think this is an indication of exactly how important Glen Mazzara (vulture.com) was to the show.

You make an excellent point about something airborne.

If they are indeed going somewhere with a modified version of "a zombie virus", I can see a couple of potentially useful directions. If it's something directly communicable, then you question the wisdom of "we're safer with a large group of people". If it's infrastructure-related (i.e. the farmed food or domesticated animals are contaminated), then you have to sort that out, & again, this bodes ill for the reestablishment of civilization. If we're heading for an immunity thing, then you get social divisiveness & a medical mystery. Something like that might be plot-worthy.

My thoughts on the airborne thing is not so much that it's an airborne zombie disease. It's more that there are still other illnesses and diseases around that will result in major sickness or death. Some people will have stronger immune systems but some will ultimately die. Then they will of course turn into walkers since they all already have the disease.

I'm guessing it's their attempt to keep the show realistic...as in what would actually happen in a world like this. How it plays out will be another thing.
