Man, Ross has really taken to riffing on the net in the past few Reports. The man is certainly entitled to his opinion, and as a high-ranking WWE official I don't expect him to love the largely negative 'Net, but come on. How can he criticize the net for rampant speculation when he throws out all manner of one-liners?

"X-Pac has been unbooked from our live events this weekend."

Trouble in the Clique?

"Booker T is the video-game champion of WWE and is tough to beat, especially on Madden 2002."

Could this be related to last week's comments about some talents shutting themselves in the locker room and "playing cards or video games?"

"I also was surprised this week to receive a 1954 calendar in absolutely mint condition featuring the "divas of the NWA," including Lou Thesz and Verne Gagne."

I have no rampant speculation for this one. I also edited that statement a little. Spot the error!

But, eh... Ross is probably working us all anyway. "Stirring the pot," if you will. Just thought it was worth noting that as business declines, Ross gets angrier and angrier at us poor, humble internet folk.

I counter that none of those are angry. Perhaps...

X-pac has a dentists appointment.

Booker-T is really good at video games.

He thinks the NWA TNA girls are really old. Actually, I'm not sure what to do with the third one. Maybe I should go read it in context.

When I said he was angry, I was referring to this comment:

"Random thoughts, news and opinion ... and numerous cryptic messages that can only be deciphered by those with active imaginations and significant insider sources:"

I'm not trying to come down on him, really, I just think it's noteworthy that he takes shots at the proverbial IWC on an almost weekly basis. If internet wrestling journalists are so bad, why dignify then with a mention in an official WWE column?

He seems to take shots at RVD one week then build him up the next. Then there is always the RVD will be a big star IF he can stay healthy line.

I think JR is burnt out, and is on his way out (at least as VP of Talent Relations). He has a damn hard job trying to keep everyone focused on a common goal with everyone looking out for their own interests.

A month ago his best friend walked out on the company.

Six months ago he rehired Nash, Hall and Hogan. Hall is no longer with the company, Nash has wrestled about 10 minutes in the last six months, and Hogan became a face, was made champion and the ratings bombed even further.

The so called "biggest draw" in the company came back after being gone for several months and ratings in the fast overnights **dropped** .1 from the last regular show.

As head of talent relations, ALL of these reflect badly on him, and don't even get me started on the flight from hell. I think that if JR isn't forced out within the next three to six months, he should voluntarily give the job up... I for one won't think any less of him, but it's obvious he can't do his job properly anymore, and something needs to be done, or else things are going to get worse, no matter what the writers come up with.

JR leaves and is replaced by.... who? Nobody. Unless JR wants to quit, and is actually burnt out, there's no way they're going to force him out.

JR leaves and is replaced by.... who?

Johnny Ace is apparently very capable.

And there are probably hundreds of guys who would salivate at the idea to hold Jim Ross' position - and out of them, a dozen who could do an admirable job.

It's not a position that can't be filled. Lots of good respected wrestling minds are out there.

It sounds to me like you are simply varifying his "those with active imaginations..." comment. He never once mentions the internet in the column, but you are certain his comments are directed at the internet.

Ya because we all know in recent months if you're not in tip top form there is no chance you'll get a BIG main event spot *rollseyes*... JR really should stop worrying so much about cruisers highflying moves or RVD style. And start worrying about his boys filling themselves with HGH and tearing their muscles everytime they take a step or a swing. I know, I know one thing might not have nothing to do with the other. Just strange that Triple H seems to be transforming into Scott Steiner with his body and now with all his injuries. I wonder what the connection is.

One thing J.R really should do was read his posts from a year and a half ago to 2 years. See how he used to make fun of WCW with ALL the mistakes they made. From picking on them for using old WWF ideas or pushing people on reputation alone and having awful mainevents... Well fast forward 2 years and we have NWO (wcw idea), Vince kissing another sexy blonde (done WWf idea)and unlike with Trish, this angle seems to be going no where at all, and a Canadian anti-American group (old WWF AND WCW idea). And truly awful Main events in the last 4 months.

The similarities are amazing. Make matters worse some of the people that he talked about being the problem is in his company now stinking up the joint. But I heard it wasn't JR idea to bring them in but Vince overruled him. So what's worse being a hypocrite or being a glorified southern puppet

I don't like JR pretending that Lawler's hand is up his butt as he is parroting what Lawler says in the "Fat ass angle". That should embarass him enough to quit.

"Business has just picked up" says JR. Then right on cue, Molly enters the arena! Never was JR any better in introducing someone. --Raw 7/15

Dave Meltzer may have asked for it. On Sunday's Wrestling Observer Live, he was discussing the recent Jericho "shoot" on Goldberg on KUPD that never happened.
