Wait they could have put Foleey or Austin in HHH's current role? Whaaaaat.
The amazing thing about this whole thing is that HHH finally gets to be the character that the internet has been accusing him of being for the last decade, and in playing that character he's getting over the biggest online darling perhaps ever. It's the wrestling equivalent of Vince Gilligan writing Walt's phonecall to Skylar in Breaking Bad this week. He really is smarter than everyone.
You might want to re-think that Walt phone call analogy when you read the New Yorker piece LeRoy put up. I did. Unless you are saying HHH is an abuser to the fans then...maybe?
I am saying they could put Foley or Flair or really anyone into the board of directors not the chairman just a board member who can come in and rescue the locker room. COO Foley to me is way more believable since he was Commissioner twice with some good success. He is also a thousand times more sympathetic and fun than HHH.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
But HHH is a heel. That's the whole point of the storyline. Heel HHH playing off of his reputation. Being more sympathetic and fun than him is not what they want.
When they announced Bryan/Reigns, I got all excited because I was hoping the finish would be Reigns going for the spear only to be hit w/ the flying knee. Still a good match, but I can't help but think that was a giant missed opportunity to do that spot. Hopefully it happens at some point.
Ryback is like a brand new character now. He's great! My gradual liking of Ryback from not giving a fuck at all about him last year is now complete. The Big Guy bullying character was a slow burn until he put Punk through the table to save Paul Heyman.
"CM Punk, you're a bully! I don't like bullies." Good.
"This big, beautiful man." LAUGHS. Ooh, better.
Heyman kisses Ryback on the cheek! LAUGHS. Sold! I'm in love.
Heyman's Big Guy. Big Beautiful Guy. Hates that bully CM Punk who tried to kill his best friend.
I'm a Ryback fan! Ryback Rules! Heyman's looks of adoration were impeccable. I hope Ryback annihilates that jerk CM Punk.
Natalya's headset somehow not working - "We can't listen to Natalya talk? What a shame!" - was ideal. Until Lawler let her use her headset and she bored the piss out of me. I mean, AJ verbally jousting with Nattie is like Harley Quinn bantering with one of the Batmobile's spare tires. "AJ, you may be a titleholder, but I'm a born champion!" Oh Lord, which inspirational meme on Instagram did she get that one from?
Idea: along with cutting off Nattie's mic, how about also blurring her a la Sheamus on Total Divas or the old WWF logos on DVD as well?
When Stephanie reamed out Randy Orton demanding the return of the "old Randy Orton", I thought they were going full on Stone Cold leader of the Alliance 2001 and Orton would start needing to hug people as affirmation.
The locker room finding their testicles in the end was an amazing visual. As was, for me and my laughing, Big Show crying and punching out Dusty + the look on Stephanie's face. Stephanie is cartoon supervillainy? No shit, her father was the greatest cartoon supervillain in WWE history. Her father mastered his Adam's apple bobbing when he was frightened and dropped his pants to let men kiss his ass. Stephanie is tame by comparison.
Quite frankly, I don't know what Big Show's problem is. If he looked at it this way, Triple H and Stephanie are taking amazing care of him. He's broke, and they're giving him the easiest gigs. All he has to do is punch people. That's all. Just punch them, and he gets paid the same as if he works matches. It's easy money! The McMahon-Helmsleys are great bosses to him, if he'd stop crying for a half second and see it. After that locker room rebellion, Show has the entire rosters of Main Event and Superstars to punch.

Well it's the Big Show of Emotion.
In denouncing Bryan as a cheating athlete, JBL compares him to Shoeless Joe Jackson. Because Lance Armstrong was a reference that people under 30 might know. I think he and King try to come up with century-old references.
But I don't think the audience knew the Ziggler match was non-title.

AJ being awesome almost outweighs the zero interest I have in Punk/Ryback. So, its basically a wash right now. A long time ago, they could have put Foley or Flair or hell even Austin into a position in the company for storyline purposes to be a savior. Instead they opted for HHH in that role which he sucks at. I have no desire to see Cyborg Linda in between a failed campaign runs save the day and get out the vote at the same time in 2014. If anything Taker coming back and using the Streak against them may make more sense.
...wat?
So, in my understanding of this, Foley, Flair, or Austin could be in the role of evil COO who strips someone of their title, complete with Stephanie McMahon there to use Big Crying Show as her own personal lackey, because HHH is just not good enough to be an evil corporate douche like Foley (?), Flair (?), or Austin (?). Then, to stop it all, the Undertaker puts the streak on the line against who or what? "If I lose, I lose the streak. If I win, be nice!"

It seems like only a month ago you were saying "I give it a month before people become bored with Bryan getting his ass kicked." Oh, it was.
Seriously, take a deep breath and just enjoy the journey. You bitch and bitch and bitch all the time about what "might" happen or what you "think" will happen, and when something cool or fun happens you're just a cynic.

Well, Lance finally admitted it. Jackson died claiming he was innocent (and people to this day still fight the good fight; go to the Society for American Baseball Research Conference and there's always at least one Shoeless Joe presentation).
I'm very curious to see where they go with this. The implication I got from the HHH/Armstrong scene was that Armstrong was shocked he was fired because he'd been previously told "Do this for me and I'll take care of you." How long before that comes out?
I was a little surprised that they didn't do any backstage conversations between Bryan and others about the situation. If they'd started as doubters but been convinced, the show-end run-in would have been even better, IMHO. Over the next few weeks, though, I don't think JBL should be the only one questioning if he did it.

I was wrong. I am saying early on like 2010 not now they could have put Flair or Foley in that position thus the phrase a long time ago not last month or whenever HHH got the job for no reason. Was HHH even a GM? It would have been fairly easy to have that ace up their sleeve, but it seems they never do.

Following Stephanie McMahon’s manipulation of the gargantuan Big Show, forcing him to knock out WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes on Raw, WWE.com reached out to both of Dusty’s sons; Dustin (Goldust) and the recently fired Cody, for their reactions.
“I’m sick to my stomach!” Dustin screamed into the phone.
“Triple H and Stephanie’s so-called business decisions make me sick. First Cody and now my dad. To have Big Show hit a 68-year old-man? Show, I don’t care if you are rich or poor; you don’t do that!”
The elder Rhodes brother ended the terse call with an ominous message.
“Steph, you crossed the line. Triple H, you crossed the line. You won’t see me comin’. You won’t see Cody comin’. You’re all gonna fall.”
Cody Rhodes did not return our texts or e-mails but simply tweeted to the world from @CodyRhodesWWE “Cowards. #WatchThemAllFall” ------------------------------------------------------------
I wanna see Goldust vs. HHH on a semi flatbed going down the road at 35 mph.
I think the Rhodes boys will be doing the righteous justice thing.
I still think the Real Americans are the next big thing, especially in a rather blah (albeit increasingly stacked) tag division. The huge 'WE THE PEOPLE' chant at every tag transition? Unbelievable.
The show was good. Crying Big Show better have a payoff where he portrays his angry no-nonsense heel persona as a face, clobbering people left and right. Ultimately it means Big Show is a dummy and someone had to point something out to him, but eh.

I just want a scene where Booker-T walks up to Goldust, puts his hand on his shoulder and in a very serious voice says something like "I got your back.....partner."

I think you're confusing everyone here. HHH has looooong been acknowledged as part of the front office and family, so it's hardly for "no reason" he's COO. And he fits into the role perfectly -- especially given that (as someone else said) he's playing the exact role everyone's accused him of.
What I *think* I get from your posts is that you think someone like Austin or Foley or Flair could have been positioned as an eventual counter to HHH with some longterm planning? An eventual savior, so at least it's not someone in the McMahon family that sees the lights and champions the cause of Daniel Bryan? Is that what you're trying to get across?
Miz's mom was fantastic with her reactions during the Orton beatdown. Miz's dad, not so much. The camera caught onto this pretty quickly too, and they kept cutting Miz's dad out of the shot when they wanted to get reactions.
I thought that was a good use of both Orton and Miz. The beatdown was brutal but in character for Orton, who'd been specifically told earlier to channel exactly this emotion. I thought Stephanie came off really well in the short backstage segment with Orton and HHH. Later, not so much. The whole Dusty Rhodes segment, though decently-written, had all the subtlety of a Bollywood movie.
Big Show HAS to stop crying. We get that the man is conflicted. But him crying every week doesn't advance his character in any meaningful way. Sure it builds up to his grand moment when he finally stands up for himself and knocks Trips (or more likely Stephanie, since she's been his chief tormentor) out, but he doesn't need to cry each week to get there.
I noticed the Sierra Hotel India... thing from the Shield entrance when I went looking for their music on youtube. I find that entrance theme an absolutely perfect fit for the Shield. Very underrated work from Jim Johnston.
Mark me up as one of the group enjoying Ryback's new character. The precedent has already been set with the stellar work of Bully Ray over in TNA. In fact, when Ryback called Punk out and declared he didn't like bullies, I felt he was very much channeling Bully Ray. I have to wonder if Ryback the performer can pull it off, but he's got Paul Heyman to push it forward. Also, is this the end of the Axel/Heyman alliance?
I felt kind of sorry for Lawler yesterday. It doesn't seem like he can really hang with the other two on commentary anymore. When JBL was arguing about how Daniel Bryan was the cause for the Miz's demise, Cole was offering logical counterpoints while the best King could do was the incredulous "Are you serious?!" Cole and JBL threw points and counterpoints throughout the show while King was kind of left behind.
The Usos are the new number-one contenders for the Shield's titles, presumably meaning that the PrimeTime Players have officially moved onto the main-event feud.

Pretty sure I havent seen anyone else post it yet, apologies for my blindness if I'm wrong. RAW this week scored a 3.9, down a whopping great .1 from last weeks 4.0. Apparently the main event (Goldberg/Flair)
