Ok. I've been trying to figure this out all day and haven't gotten the results that I want. I have a SONY Blu-Ray player, with wi-fi and a hard connection. It has the ability to stream HULU and NETFLIX. I have accounts with both services. I am able to watch both services. But the HULU connection is effing terrible. I run speedtest.net and consistently come up with 30+ MBPS down and 3 MBPS up. But when I connect to the player wirelessly, HULU struggles to stream the show; the shows run at 1 MBPS or less. But the commercials will run at 10 MBPS and higher. I tried several different router settings and have no problem trying the same ones again or more if that's a concrete way to fix the problem. I also went and bought a CAT-5 cable to hardwire the thing to see if that works. It keeps the connection to HULU at around 1.5 MBPS which is better but not nearly ideal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Is there a firmware update for the blu-ray player? Or maybe a way to update the Hulu software? I know the early days of Hulu on the PS3 were riddled with problems.
Firmware is up to date, and I can't find any way to update the Hulu software. To add to the confusion, it streams perfectly on my laptop. I assume that it is an issue on Hulu's end with my blu-ray player. I tested again today, streamed a show, and got .5 MBPS. I stopped the show and streamed on my laptop without one hiccup. I'm just going to throw my hands up and connect the laptop to my tv when I want to watch Hulu.
