Howard does go to Houston, and it looks like the 50/50 thing was either a misunderstanding or bad reporting. Howard wasn't going to 'officially' make a decision until he talked to the Lakers, but that talk was only about politely letting them know he was leaving.
Yeah, please remember, it's not like Howard came out and said "Rockets! No wait, let me think about that again...". These were all reports made before he made any official announcement. Don't blame him for "not making up his mind." It wasn't Howard making these proclamations, but the media.

Regardless of whether he "changed his mind" momentarily, Dwight Howard is the least likeable athlete in American sports* and Lakers fans should be glad he's gone. It's not like the team was any good with him on the roster anyway.
* not counting guys like Aaron Hernandez and others more notable for crimes they are associated with than their actions as members of a team
Dwight Howard's four-year, $88 million maximum contract agreement with the Houston Rockets will include an early termination option after the 2015-16 season and a 15 percent trade kicker, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
I look forward to taking this ride again in three years.

As if I didn't have enough reason to hate on FIBs...the #1-ranked Illini went and beat #19 UW at home, 75-65. (ESPN) It snaps the Badgers' 38-game win Kohl Center winning streak, and is head coach Bo Ryan's first Big Ten defeat on home court.
