Joey Ryan would be splendid in the role Brad Maddox is filling right now. Plus, WWE's roster is stacked with guys he's worked with in the past: Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Kassius Ohno, Seth Rollins, Antonio Cesaro, Daniel Bryan...

Nice of TNA to free him up in time for PWG's 10th anniversary show next month.

Sad to hear about York, because this really was his last chance to make any sort of name for himself. This is probably the end for the guy.

TNA putting Sting into a prominent main event angle, while his contract is running out and while he's openly sending feelers to WWE, just reeks of TNA. The Ghost of WCW lives on.

In case you're slow (like me), the inference Justin made up there is Sting is now very open to working to WWE because his TNA/Spike deal is either gone or would be very reduced going forward. That'd be why WWE is so certain of signing him - he was always going to end up there for one last big payday as soon as the TNA money ran out. It's out.

The five people listed as cut probably were getting most of their money per appearance, and probably very small amounts. Cutting them doesn't amount to much budget savings. Letting Sting go, even if Spike was fronting a lot of the cost, saves a whole lot more.

!!

I'd... wow. I'd pay to see this. Of course Sting would lose the match against 'Taker at WrestleMania, so perhaps debuting him at WrestleMania with a loss wouldn't be the best of ideas. How soon? SummerSlam, Survivor Series?

I'd also love to see a Sting deluxe DVD set.

Sting breaks the streak and he & Undertaker retire the next night.

This is about as close to impossible as a possible thing can be. They're not going to have Undertaker's streak broken by a half-in-shape 52-year-old with no real ties to either WWE or Undertaker himself.

Having said that, it's still well removed from those "Undertaker loses by countout" or "the streak ends because Undertaker's partner got pinned" ideas that people seemed so insistent weren't hideous.

I would think Sting doing Wrestlemania vs Taker would be a can't miss, and then I remember thinking about how bringing back UFC's buyrate monster Brock Lesnar would be such a game changer ... so it is all in the execution I guess.

The WWE bringing big names into their world can be weird and so can Undertaker feuds and if the McMahons want face time with him this could get all mucked up.

IThe WWE has a weird way of making sure things kind of iffy.

A WON podcast said Crimson & York were cut, but Ryan & Hendrix just had their contracts expired. TNA did not want to keep Joey Ryan, but did offer a deal to Hendrix. The existing deal wasn't much so she turned them down.

Hmm...that...actually works. TNA can wrap up the Aces/MEM angle at Bound For Glory and that would give them more enough time to give Sting ONE MORE MATCH and give him a classy sendoff.

I hope it goes this way. There's no reason for TNA to have animosity for Sting leaving for a WWE pay-off before he's too old to wrestle anymore. He's given a lot to the company and helped establish them as a viable second tier (not competition to WWE, mind you, but I don't think anyone could've made that happen). He deserves the chance to get the Hall of Fame induction, the box set and the Wrestlemania payoff. It'll be surreal seeing him in WWE, but I want to see it.

From what little TNA I've seen, we're five years or so beyond that point. Sting in WWE would be neat and all, for sure. Enjoy the novelty and the spectacle, but don't get your hopes up for good matches.

If we do wind up with Sting in WWE, they need to dust off his old Crow theme, for old time's sake.

Technically good matches no, but Triple H and Taker had a MOTY contender at WM that was a terrible match if judging technically. Emotion and storytelling at WM can make all the difference.

Matt Morgan would be a good acquisition by WWE. I've heard he's much improved from his first WWE run. (I rarely watch TNA).

The problem is that Matt Morgan is damaged goods. Outside of Hustle, I don't recall him ever getting over to any degree.

By the same token, I don't think HHH is going to be competing for the CW title anytime soon either.
