It sucked.

Ok, it wasn't that bad. Not as bad as some Aussies who planned their vacation for Nathan Fillion who no showed two weeks before the con. The wife and I decided to go on Sunday to avoid the chaos of Saturday plus that was the only day Captain Jack, John Barrowman, was signing. We get their early and in line after 10 am. John arrives at 10:45 does a few signings and goes to the panel. We get numbered tickets and told to come back at noon. Now, if he continued to sign for another half hour, we would have been done. Because as always at these cons, there are the VIP customers. People who jump ahead of you in line, because they paid more money. See my report last year with Punk on how I feel about that shit.

We do some walking and shopping for the kid to come back to see the line is now tripled with VIP members. I decided to get Cordelia from Buffy's autograph who was 15 minutes late to her signing. She was sorta nice after I explained my copy of Buffy season five is the season, I like the least and don't care if people sign it. It was a bit awkward, but whatever.

So, that is 12:30, 2 hours later, the wife finally gets her autograph. Yep, over three hours. The only good thing is we meet a cool girl from NJ who was well everything great about Jersey and studying to get her Masters in Forensic Anthropology so future Bones. I also made her friend's con by giving her my numbered ticket, so she could actually jump ahead and get the autograph. I have no idea if everyone got an autograph, because John made an announcement at 2, he was going to rush through people, because he only had an hour left then he had to do photos. He was funny about it, but he had another 100 or so people after the wife at 2:30.

The only good thing with autographs is I found two legit Doctor Who autograph dealers, one had Sarah Jane and Tom Baker stuff, they were more than willing to sell me for more than they had on their website. I went with the website. The other one had some Matt Smith era stuff, but I may save getting that til I see who is coming to cons next year. If anything, they are doing a special if you pre-order the David Tennant one, you get it personalized, that maybe the wife's birthday or Christmas gift.

As for stuff, we bought. A onesie for the kid that said Ass Kicker as well as a DC and Marvel one. Wife got two shirts and a color Bride of Frankenstein poster. I got a signed Romita and Romita JR comic book at Hero Initiative Charity and a re-release Jaws poster. That is it, we spent $400 and I am not sure on what. $110 to get in on a fucking Sunday, $70 in autographs which was fine and the rest was those purchases, food and tolls. I think last year I said never again to this con, but Barrowman is the wife's favorite Who companion not named Donna and alive, so we went. Nice to get another Scooby on my Buffy DVD, but was not worth it to deal with the dickhead organizers. Why give out the numbered cards when all you are going to do is let the VIPS walk all over everyone. They should have put those people in line with the other numbered VIPs. Instead they find a way to fuck people over. Security was chesty too at times then really nice, it was weird. Yet, its Philly, the city of Brotherly shove, so who knows. If anything, we go to Monster Mania for Carrie Fisher, Romero and McDowell if the autographs are not high if they are off to Baltimore for a real comic book convention.

WWE note, Bryan's line was longer then Cena's line, I heard even though Cena sold out.

I realllly doubt that...Cena was completely sold out in advance, which I've never seen them advertise before. I saw pix and read reports of Cena's Thursday appearance and it was apparently super jam-packed in there.

I was there on Saturday & Sunday, and while I didn't go back to where Bryan was signing, I went to Bryan (and Ricky Steamboat)'s Q&A in a room about the size they had Punk's Q&A last year. Punk was standing room only, this year's was maybe 1/3 full? And I felt like I saw a *ton* of Bryan shirts on Saturday, but maybe they didn't all know about the Q&A or just came for the pix/autographs.

It was still entertaining of course, Bryan talked about the Shield and how it's good that indie guys who have experience outside the system can come in with confidence in their skills. A little kid asked him if he could tell the Bellas apart, and Bryan made the obvious joke in reply (while keepin' it PG). Steamboat told a few old school stories, Bryan re-told his The Ryback-at-Panera tale and said how surreal it is to see his own action figures at Target.

Not what I heard. A lot of it had to do with general admission going into Bryan's line while not a lot of regular folk showed for Thursday with Cena. Punk had a bigger line than both which I believe since there was three to four different lines for Punk.

Its amazing that you can go to Netflix and ser hundreds of movies that were released in the past six months. And I doubt most of them were top ten films. Having a movie make a million dollars is still a big deal.
