At the very least, I can say that something happened on this show.

The opening promo was solid. I liked the intensity from Angle on the mic, contrasted with Sting trying to be level-headed with AJ. Also, I liked that Sting addressed the pink elephant in the room by mentioning his Crow days and comparing them with what AJ is doing now. I figured AJ would once again say nothing and walk away, and that's exactly what he did. Nice brawl between AJ and Angle, though.

The KO tag match was just OK, mainly because I've seen iterations of the same match already. First it was Taryn/Velvet vs. Gail/Tara, then it was Mickie/Taryn vs. Gail/Tara, and now it's Velvet/Mickie vs. Gail/Tara. Lots of lather-rinse-repeat going on here. I appreciated it aesthetically, as I do most KO matches, but the only thing that really mattered was the post-match shenanigans, with Gail attacking Tara. I'm guessing this is leading toward Gail getting another shot at Velvet's title. Oh well.

The Aces & Eights promo segment was good, but I don't know why they just don't kick D'Lo out of the group. They say he was needed to gain access inside TNA, and now that they've got that, he's expendable. Just kick him out. I don't know why they're keeping him around as the errand boy. A's & 8's say they don't like quitters, but there's an awful lot of losers in that group.

The Magnus/Doc match was all about what D'Lo was going to do to help Doc win, and he caused Doc to lose. Once again, just gang up on him and kick him out. By keeping him around, it makes it appear that no matter how bad you suck, you get to stay. It seems like Anderson is the de facto VP now, with how he's making decisions and talking more. Too bad the Aces & Eights B-Teamers took Magnus out later, though.

The tag match festivities were pretty much all about James Storm. Both teams butter him up with beer, and then he superkicks the hell out of both Aries and Daniels during the match. James Storm is spinning his wheels right now, but at least he's doing it in an entertaining fashion.

There was an actual X-division promo segment, which shocked the hell out of me. I thought, "Is that Kenny King, asking for a mic?" What also surprised me was that it wasn't that bad. Both Kenny King and Sabin were alright on the mic, and it seemed to build up a 1 on 1 match between them for the title; too bad the X-division matches are all 3 ways now.

The main event built up the 3-on-2 situation throughout, with some intrigue as who the 3rd guy would be to join Sting and Angle. Then Abyss popped out and cleaned house. It's been a while since I've seen him, and he mysteriously shows up just when Joseph Park is taken out. Hmm. I guess those two can't be in the same place at the same time, lol.

I can say that a few things did happen on this show, namely Abyss showing up and D'Lo losing his VP spot. I thought the promo segments and backstage stuff was very solid, and while the main event was a bit too long for my liking, the Abyss reveal wasn't that bad. As far as a grade goes, I'll give this episode of Impact a borderline B-/C+. Above average, with a bit of actual story progression. An improvement over what the hell kinda show they have been putting on the last two months.

Better show than the past few months, but still some serious issue. Sting pretty much mentioning how similar his angle seventeen years ago is to Styles' doesn't help things. Angle and Styles have had some of the bet matches in TNA history, but I really don't wanna see them feud again. It's an ok hat just like a Daniels-Styles feud was. Magnus wrestling a match and the match being all about D'Lo Brown, who hasn't meant anything in fifteen years tells you how clueless TNA can be sometimes as all he attention should be on Magnus and he should be built up strongly. The problem is he keep getting beat down by the job squad and that doesn't make him look very strong. So after all these years of trying to build Storm up and then tearing him down it looks like James Storm is becoming a tag wrestler again? Poor bastard, The showdown between King and Sabin was very good as King was very strong on the mic. Hey look Abyss is back again and is being pushed a one of TNA's saviors. Nothing against the guy, but Abyss hasn't interested me since like 2006 and another big push for him won't do much for TNA as he simply isn't a top guy or a difference maker.ball in all, this was a improved show, but definitely some flaws an things that annoyed me.

I actually marked out for Abyss. Its at least someone who makes sense. I also liked the tag team match alot. I mean a ton. Magnus getting a win was nice. That is all I saw, so I am going with thumbs up.

I kind of agree with Brian that with so few Knockouts now, any match has a feel of "been there done that". The match itself was pretty good, mostly because it was Gail & Tara giving Mickie all the heat & Velvet just came in to hit the hope spot and take it home. Gail at least is being given some meat to her character. I really wish they'd bring in 2-4 more women to fill out the division but unfortunately TNA isn't exactly giving too many people any real incentive to want to sign. The situation with the KO Tag Titles a prime example.

Bad Influence vs Dirty Heels was awesomesauce, seeing who could outdo each others evil deeds. They continue to be the main reason I keep watching.

I'm glad to see Sabin back, & King's promo actually created some story so it's good that they're breathing some more life into things too. No idea who is going to be Suicide this time around, but hope it's someone who can show depth of character through the mask.

Not really into the rest of what happened, but that's just me.

I still haven't had a chance to catch this show on the DVR, but there's apparently a scandal brewing from it between Austin Aries and Christy Hemme. Here's Keller on his soapbox.

KELLER BLOG: Austin Aries should be reprimanded for sexual harassment of Christy Hemme (or just being a d---)

At last Thursday's TNA Impact Wrestling taping, Austin Aries got upset with Christy Hemme for messing up his ring introduction. To apparently show her up, presumably with the defense being his heel character is a chauvinist or a male pig, he stood on the turnbuckles in the corner and shoved his crotch near her face. She turned away with what has been described as an uncomfortable laugh. She later, on Twitter, called it "Unacceptable."

Austin followed up with some double-entendre puns: "Pretty nuts, some of the junk people get the balls to say over the net, knowing they couldn't to your face...Eh, anyway, time to sack out."

This isn't going to end well.

I like Aries as a performer, but between this and the whole "Boston bombing was a false flag search for the truth" stuff he's apparently been espousing, he's coming across like a real douchebag as a person.

Yeah, this is clearly another case of having to separate a great performer from his actual personality. I don't care if Christy screwed up your intro, crowding her into a corner and then rubbing your crotch on her face isn't okay by any stretch of the imagination. Just because you can throw a great suicide dive doesn't make it okay.

I actually did turn to my wife and said "Did he just teabag her?" She thought so and I was wondering if it was part of a future storyline with her screwing up the names. I guess not. Yeah, Aries, should be punished.

Ha ha ha! I guess the Cabin Boy reference went over somebody's head. Personally, I think the Cabin Boy storyline would kick ass, provided that Big Show is given the Mulligan gimmick, and John Tenta comes back as Sharky...
