Yeah, my work schedule is getting more and more intense, meaning I'm going to have to do with Impact what I do with Raw, and that's keep it abbreviated. I'll save the full recaps for PPV's until the workload lightens, which could be a long way away.

So we start the show with James Storm coming out for the opening promo, with AJ Styles out in the audience. Storm admits that Styles was the better man last week and puts over his new finisher, before asking Styles for his help with the Aces. That brings out Bad Influence, who bemoan their own beatdown from the Aces. They ask for AJ's help and propose a Fortune reunion...which is a VERY intriguing idea, come to think of it. Storm runs afoul of Daniels and Kaz and gets a beatdown for his troubles. After Bad Influence bails, the Aces come down and beat down Storm even more. Joseph Park makes the save, but gets beaten down and gets put through a table. AJ simply watches stoically from the crowd.

Ray then delivers a promo, talking about the Aces having single-handedly destroyed the entire TNA roster, naming off all the players one-by-one, like Joe, Magnus, and Angle. Remember this for later, because this will be important. Ray promises to confront Hulk Hogan later in the show.

Taryn Terrell beat Tara in an ok match. Tara was noticeably without Jesse...

...because Jesse is being propositioned by Robbie E. Man, THIS tag team was just a matter of time, wasn't it? E wants Jesse to beat up Rob Terry tonight. That goes about as well as you'd expect, as Terry destroys Jesse in a squash.

Bad Influence wants Bobby Roode to help move this Fortune reunion forward, which doesn't sit too well with Austin Aries. That gets the team arguing again and that argument goes forward to the tag title match. Chavo and Hernandez retain their titles after some botched interference from Bad Influence. ENOUGH ALREADY with this feud! Move them all on to something else, please!

Matt Morgan comes out to talk about Hulk Hogan, because everything revolves around Hulk Hogan, of course. Hogan comes out for rebuttal, so Morgan offers a proposal. Morgan will take care of Hulk's Aces problem in exchange for a title shot. Hulk declines this offer and says he'll take care of Ray himself. Yeah, I don't like where this is going.

Velvet Sky and Mickie James is your main event and DEAR GOD, what a trainwreck this turned out to be. Somebody thought having VELVET SKY sell an injury throughout the match was a good idea. Velvet's determined to take home "Worst Female Wrestler of 2013" honors from Kaitlyn and I'd say she's way ahead in that department.

That brings us to our main event interview. We get the confrontation between Bully Ray and Hulk Hogan, as Ray reiterates that the Aces have single-handedly destroyed the entire TNA roster. Ray gets physical with Hulk and keeps pushing him until Hulk starts to fight back. Ray tries to match Hogan's 80's comeback, but he's no match for Hogan's OLD MAN POWER! The Aces come out for support, because God forbid the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION should be any kind of match for a senior citizen, but the lights go out. And would you look at that...Sting's back...again. How many returns has this guy had? Armed with his bat, Sting and Hogan destroy the Aces. Remember, they made it a POINT to emphasize that the Aces had demolished the ENTIRE ROSTER...and then they turn around and have HOGAN AND STING be the answer to everyone's problems! Unbelievable!

So yeah, that was a show, alright. Somebody keeps thinking that the key to TNA's success is "more Hulk Hogan" and that's what they keep going with. The person who thinks that is...probably Hulk Hogan. Strap in, folks, I have a feeling that things can only get worse from here.

That finish to the show was awesome back when I was in high school back in 1997. TNA's ratings are way down the last two months so what's the out of touch fools who run his promotions solution? More Hulk Hogan as if this show isn't already built around him while Storm and others flounder. Also, pushing a talentless muscle head like Rob Terry while Magnus and Joe can't even get on the show is ridiculous. How can anyone think Terry and not Magnus is the future? It boogles the mind really. Chavo pinning Roode was terrible, but hey Chavo is a former WWE guy so there's that reasoning. Amazing how good this show was a year ago when he promotion was on fire and now this promotion right now is every bit as unwatchable as it was during Russo's reign of error with the Hogan stuff and the Aces and Eights stuff.

What's worse is that Magnus is a borderline musclehead himself, but can actually go and is decent on the mic.

Ugh. That is all that needs to be said about a Sting/Bully main event.

As much as I want to agree with you guys, you do know that Hogan keeps having the highest rated segments of the week. Just this week, Hogan's interview at the end got a 1.22 which was 25% higher than every other part of the show. I know it's NOT funny, but it's absolutely funny.

Hulk Hogan is a reasonable person to build around. Whenever I explain TNA to people who aren't wrestling fans, they are most interested in it when I describe it as a soap opera with a microstory about how Hulk Hogan deals with getting old and overcoming the sins of his past, and a macrostory of a group of wrestlers at war with a biker gang. Hogan's archtypical stature makes him the perfect character with which to explore the intersection of masculinity and the weaknesses of aging.

Kaz/Daniels and A-Double/Roode on the mic are still the best parts of any Impact. Tara/Taryn was ok and Mickie did her best to bring what ever she could out of Sky but while I'm glad the Knockouts were back to getting 2 matches they didn't rock the world or anything. The rest was typically uninteresting to me.

TNA has lost an average of 300 thousand viewers since Vince Russo quit. Think about how bad his booking has been over the last decade plus and people preferred to watch that dreck to this. Yes some of it is the new time slot and it's hurt the ratings badly as the first hour ratings has been hideous, but still the fans don't care about the Aces and Eights storyline and check out the quarter hour that lummox Rob Terry drew and look at the hideous quarter hour that Taryn Terrell's match drew and again as the Hogan's turn draw lower ratings than anything Russo has ever booked even in TNA. Also after spending time last year in trying to build new stars they have completely abandoned that this year. Hey let's give Sting his millionth title shot vs doing nothing with Magnus and Joe.

Liked the video for Sabin's return and sad that Shelley isn't coming back with him. Surprised he isn't going after Roode who beat him down on his last appearance on Impact last summer. Guess they'll forget that and just throw him in X div. The rest of the show can kiss the fattest part of my ass.

And to boost morale, they'll make it Hawaiian Shirt Day on selected Raw and Smackdown shows, where the wrestlers have the option of wearing a Hawaiian shirt out to the ring if they choose to.
