I'm going to keep this very short, as I'm watching the ongoing Boston coverage in earnest right now.

It's another week of Aces domination, as they were once again all over this show. Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco beat Kurt Angle in a handicap match after D-Lo-ference in a terrible match. Devon's title defense (Yes, the TV title was defended on TV. A novel concept.) against Magnus never happened, thanks to an Aces beatdown. Devon wound up defending against Samoa Joe in another terrible match that Devon won, thanks to more Ace-rference. Strap in, folks, because this is going to be EVERY SINGLE ACES MATCH for the next SIX MONTHS! Also, Anderson yelled a lot, because I haven't had enough reason to mute my TV lately.

The AJ Styles/James Storm match actually happened, much to my shock. Styles won clean with Steve Austin's old Hollywood & Vine submission. Bad Influence came in after to try and recruit AJ, but so did the Aces. Styles simply bailed and the Aces beat down everyone. Dear God, PLEASE keep Bad Influence as far away from the Aces as possible! They're the best thing on this show right now! Bully Ray promises to confront Hulk Hogan next week, because once again, everything in this company ultimately revolves around Hulk Hogan.

In stuff that's not Aces & Eights (yes, there are angles that aren't about the Aces, surprisingly), Bad Influence vowed to go after the tag titles. Austin Aries and Bobby Roode took umbrage to this and it led to one of the BEST SEGMENTS OF THE YEAR, as both teams just took turns tearing each other down with all of their snarky might. The fun, AGAIN, is ruined by Chavo and Hernandez, who beat down Aries and Roode after Bad Influence bailed. I'm STUNNED that this company keeps shoving the Mexican contingent down our throats when Bad Influence and Aries/Roode could put on one of the most entertaining tag feuds in years and offer a welcome sense of relief from Aces overload.

Titles were also defended. The X title match saw Kenny King retain against Petey Williams and Zema Ion, as the main flaw of this title defense format becomes glaringly obvious. Yes, we saw Petey earn his title shot, but why is Ion getting ANOTHER shot? He's seemingly always the token third man in these matches and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Also, Mickie James and Tessmacher saw Monday's Kaitlyn/Bellas match and said, "Pssh, we can top that." And they proceeded to put on an EVEN WORSE MATCH! How is that even possible? I'm flabbergasted!

Not quite the wretched show that Raw was, but I won't exactly call this week's Impact "good", either. Better luck next week!

Back next time, when things are hopefully back to normal, in more ways than one.

I didn't think the KO match was that bad. I also give a lit of leeway to Miss Tessmacher since she is a newbie. I would rather have evil lesbian Mickie, but whatever. Her taking some of Tess moves with the psycho doe eyed reaction would be hot and very disturbing. Velvet does not gave that move set, so ego Mickie makes sense. As for the rest of the show, you are dead on. Its too much Aces and Eights. I understand with Bully's win, they have rebooted the storyline. In doing so, we have to have the heroes beatdown til a hero emerges.

Having said that, the hero should be AJ or a turned Bobby or Austin Aries. If they make it Hogan or Sting, it will backfire. Get the Mexicans out of there and let Bad Influence and Team Ego go at it.

I find that if you skip the Knockouts(s) portion of the show, it is much better. Sad too, as a few years ago it was one of the few reasons to even watch Impact.

AJ over Bully at BfG seems like the way they are going to me, a la Sting-Hogan 1997. But that could change by then. I also see someone getting the brief Luger '97 surprise title run in between, maybe Park or even Storm to salvage that character.

Several of the newz sites have Hogan training hard to get in shape and be the challenger for BfG.

After watching last night, all I could think of is Aces & Eights = nWo; AJ = newly Crow'd up Sting

now, when does the fake AJ Styles show up?

Good Lord.
If they take the belt off Bully before that, I don't care if they go with a Hogan match. But in no way does Hogan need to be in a title match at their premiere event.

Judging by AJ's new look, they could grab a local hobo and make him a dead ringer.

So I've been avoiding TNA since Jeff Hardy became champion over Aries months back. Why is AJ channeling Raven?

Well, AJ went into a funk after losing that "no title shots for a year if you lose" match, then he fought Christopher Daniels for the millionth time and lost clean with his own finisher, and then decided to do his Crow Sting impression. The Aces now want him as part of their stable and Hulk Hogan is begging for AJ to come back, despite the fact that he's the one who made that "no title shots for a year" stipulation that started this whole thing in the first place.

Have I mentioned that Hulk Hogan is a terrible GM?

Isn't AJ still under that "no title shots for a year" thing? I was under the impression he still had several months to go on that. (Of course, somebody could choose to rescind it, and I know it's stupid to try and apply logic to any wrestling promotion in general or TNA in particular).

I, for one, am predicting that Hogan will not only face Bully at Bound for Glory, but defeat him to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Styles can't get a world title shot until BFG so it's possible hat he'll win the BFG series if there is one and would face whoever is the champ likely Bully Ray. I am worried that Hogan will get in the ring to get revenge on Bully Ray after all this whole Aces and Eight stuff has revolved around Hogan. That said, people have been predicting Hogan will be TNA champ for three and a half year and he's only wrestled two matches and neither were for the title. He is turning 60 soon and he might be feeling old and to prove something to himself and "haters" as he calls them I could see him getting back in the ring especially considering his contract comes up soon after BFG.
