I'm familiar with puroresu, lucha libre, shootfighting, hardcore, Southern beatdown, Memphis fiasco, Bill Watts' top rope moves are bad, and WWE (ugh!) booking styles. What is exactly King's Road?
I presume you're talking about All Japan (correct me if I'm wrong). If so, here are the trademarks of the promotion (and I mean classic AJPW, not current):
1. super stiff work 2. clean pinfall finishes 3. main event wrestlers with multiple finishers 4. long matches (40+ minutes for title matches or 6-mans) 5. a tier of main eventers, who are mostly equal 6. a match starts slow and builds to many near falls
“The function of a good teacher is to discourage film as a course of study for the non-avid. There are film societies and cinemas galore for the serious non-film student.” – Robert Steele, “Film Scholars at the New York Film Festival,” FILM COMMENT 2, Fall 1964, p. 41, as quoted in It’s Only a Movie, by Raymond J. Haberski Jr.
