I feel so bad. I didn't write anything for the third anniversary because I figured no one would even remember or enjoy my columns... And then CRZ picks me THREE F'IN TIMES for the Top 80 columns of the year! I feel like such a jerk. My apologies, CRZ, for not contributing...but thank you for enjoying my stuff!
YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME!?! - The immortal, chilling words of...The Shockmaster!
I was surprised to see one of my columns in there too. I had never had one of those slashes next to the title on the main page, which, as far as I can tell, is like an endorsement from CRZ (correct me if I'm wrong). But based on the fact that even the one of mine he chose seemed kind of thrown together and sloppy, I have to ask a question. CRZ, did you try and take one from every single person who wrote for the site in the past year?
Mean Gene: "You know, I don't think it's a question - Goldberg, I don't think it's a question of who's next, I think it's a question of who's left?" Goldberg: "No, see, that's where you're wrong. It ain't who's left, it's - WHO'S NEXT?"
"Just how hardcore am I? Well this morning, I drank milk that was two days past the expiration!" -Norman Smiley
Yeah, I was happy to get a few up there, especially for a couple that I don't even remember writing. Now, the Citizen Kane parody I still love, so I'm happy Mr. Z did too.
“The function of a good teacher is to discourage film as a course of study for the non-avid. There are film societies and cinemas galore for the serious non-film student.” – Robert Steele, “Film Scholars at the New York Film Festival,” FILM COMMENT 2, Fall 1964, p. 41, as quoted in It’s Only a Movie, by Raymond J. Haberski Jr.
I really do enjoy this site. In fact it's the only wrestling site that I visit daily. I like the randomness of the columns, you're bound to find a flavour that you like. I also like the fact that if I ever get out of my short random thoughts mode, I can write a column and most likely BE POSTED on the main page! It's a great feature that CRZ really doesn't have to feature. So, before I get all mushy and break down on you I'd just like to say it's going to suck if you ever find a new hobby Z.
It would most sincerely suck if CRZ quit doing this, because then I'd actually have to do something more often than whenever the heck I feel like it. Keep up the good work, Chris. And never break that SmackDown! streak.
I'm just bummed that one of my guest big-assed PPV recaps didn't make your top 80 columns list. Then again...I guess a recap is not really a column, is it? Anyways...happy 3rd anniversary! And try to keep Christ off your site from now on.
Thanks for the recaps, CRZ. I followed your work from Wrestleline over to here, and they're the only ones I read now. This is a great site, and I enjoy everybody's contributions. Here's to many more years to come.
Yes, as usual, you rule, Z. You're the only writer who actually seems like a FAN rather than a cynical fuck who simply wants to bash as much as possible. Never give up!
Old School's Film Quote O' The Week-"Five-foot-nine, I didn't know they stacked shit that high"-R. Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman, Full Metal Jacket. He obviously hasn't met Tazz.
Sorry about that! Sorry to bother you again, but it doesn't seem to work. I see every post in every thread I visit, even if I've been in it a few times already. Anyway, it's not too much of a deal.
