The last week of the month equals nothing from DC I'm interested in.

Uncanny Avengers #5
Guardians of the Galaxy #1
Superior Spider-Man #6AU
Wolverine and the X-Men #27, which is the only thing I've read so far and it's hilarious. A fun, crazy joy ride, a 180 from #26. And Doop wasn't even in it.

John, When you get to it can you let me know if the Superior #6AU is worth the money?

The only thing I grabbed from DC this week was Batman Inc #9 Which only served to confuse me even further as to the timeline of events with death of the family and Damien's death.

From Marvel

Guardians of the Galaxy #1
Age of Ultron #3
Young Avengers #3

Im not really sold on the Young Avengers yet. I know that they're doing the slow build towards something major but the story line is just not hooking me the way the old series did.

I guess it's worth the money if you're really into Doc Ock Superior Spidey. The main point of the issue is to establish this is Superior Spider-Man in AOU acting like he's Peter Parker and his actual thoughts and feelings about Ultron's conquest of the world. It takes place between AOU #2 and #3 and details Superior Spidey's attempt to take down Ultron all by himself. Doesn't go so well.

Issue left me with a big question: What else did Brand New Day erase besides Peter and MJ's marriage? There's dialogue between Stark and Parker/Ock where Stark says he didn't know Peter was a scientist. I thought they were mentor/pupil in the pre-Civil War days, Iron Spider and all that.

One more day wiped out the common knowledge that Peter Parker was Spider-man. This went to the supers as well as the general population. This is on top of the fact that Tony Stark's memory was wiped back to the the point where he originally was Extremis enhanced, which would be pre-civil war. Would explain why Stark did not know Peter was a scientist. (although part of me wants to say that they held on to the fact that Peter worked for Stark at some point, perhaps as a photographer.)

Even more confusing is the fact that Peter had to identify himself to the avengers after his rescue, he had already come out with his secret identity for the second time with the new avengers and fantastic four. I'm getting definite alternate universe vibes out of the age of Ultron. Although that could just be because they decided to Tarantino it as opposed to starting from the beginning.

Light week for me this week:
Marvel:
Thunderbolts #7
Wolverine and X-men #27
IDW:
Love and Capes Vol 4: What to expect TPB

My fiancee LOVES the Love and Capes books from IDW and she is not a comic book person. If you want to get a female into comics this is a very good book to show them. Not only is it very funny, but also a sweet rom-com as well.

I really liked Guardians of the Galaxy. It was action packed and weird.

Uncanny Avengers #5 was the best issue of the series so far. In a way, it should have been the issue to kick the series off.

Aren't you glad you took my recommendation? Quentin Quire is one of the best characters in comics right now. "I'm shooting cowboys and robots with a laser shotgun. I've never felt more...American!"

I hear what you're saying on this one, but I am also enjoying this new direction with the characters. I don't think we'll ever get anything quite as good as the original Heinberg series, but this is a fun way to keep the characters active. You should also be reading Hawkeye (everyone in the world should be reading Hawkeye) because Kate Bishop is one of the main characters in it.

Absolutely. Thank you a million times. "Leave the dinosaurs be. Tag the mutants' faces and measure their genitals." is one of the greatest lines I've ever read in comics.

"I've got some genitals you can measure!"

Honestly, except for their brief early 1990s Jim Lee heyday, I was never a big X-Men fan. I liked the X-Men just fine, but I was never all that into them. Wolverine and the X-Men changed all that to the point where, along with All-New and Uncanny, I've never liked the X-Men more than I do right now. But I still like Wolverine and the X-Men the most of the three. And for me, these X-books blow away the X-books I used to collect from 20 years ago. If I were a teenage mutant, I'd totally matriculate at Jean Grey School.

It was interesting, but I'm not as much of a fan of these titles that are to foreign/alien/cryptic. I need a little more to grab onto to really enjoy it. I would put this along with Saga. I'll keep reading and see.
