Q'n'D

-Kenny King d. Christian York & Zema Ion after hitting York with the Royal Flush to retain the X Division Championship
-Joseph Park d. Joey Ryan by sitting on him
-Velvet Sky d. Gail Kim with whatever the hell her move is called to retain the Knockouts Championship
-Robbie T d. Robbie E with the fireman's carry spinebuster
-Austin Aries & Bobby Roode d. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian and Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez after Chavo frog splashes Daniels and Roode blind tags for the pin.
-Wes Brisco d. Kurt Angle after D-Lo Brown attacks Angle and pulls Brisco out of the cage
-Team TNA d. Aces & Eights after Eric Young pins Mike Knox with a Savage Elbow off the top of the cage
-Bully Ray d. Jeff Hardy to become the new World Heavyweight Champion after...do I even need to mention that Bully Ray's the new Aces & Eights leader?

------------------------------------

Ugh...yeah, there's a PPV tonight. Yeah, there sure is. So yeah......let's get this over with.

Opening video package highlights...who else...Aces & Eights. Because God knows this company only revolves around two things: Hulk Hogan and Aces & Eights. I can't bang my head against the table hard enough when I see TNA try to trot out guys like Wes Brisco and long-retired D-Lo Brown, as if they're actual threats to anybody, much less a wrestling company.

ZEMA ION v. CHRISTIAN YORK v. KENNY KING: X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Boy, this company just LOVES to follow in WCW's footsteps, don't they? Latest homage to the long-dead wrestling organization: knowing they have ONE hot match in the entire lineup and tossing it out as the opener. THIS is WCW TNA!

King takes a cheap shot at York and that allows Ion to attack King from behind. Ion charges in and eats elbow, as York cleans house on the heels. York tries to focus on King, who ducks out. That allows Ion to attack from behind and work over York. York comes off a whip and takes out King with a suicide dive! Ion wants his own, but York catches him with a kick to the head! King comes off with a springboard moonsault (off Ion!), but botches the spot completely. D'oh! Ion nails both guys with a corkscrew moonsault and comes within inches of missing THAT! York holds up Ion and King nails Ion with a springboard Blockbuster! Nice! York's suplex gets 2. King hangs York on the top rope, but showboats, which means York kicks out at 1. King showboats some more, which allows York to come back with chops. King stops that with a thumb to the eye. King is on the second-rope, but gets nailed by Ion. Ion hits King with a second-rope 'rana, while his upper body splashes York! That's a neat spot! Running springboard moonsault gets 2 for Ion! King grabs Ion by the hair and wipes him out. York doubles King over and nails him with a second-rope legdrop for 2. Ion charges in and gets backdropped to the apron. Ion hits a springboard curb stomp on York and baseball slides King! Tornado DDT gets 2 for Ion! King and Ion both eat it on the ramp and York tries to take advantage, but King breaks up the cover. King hits a high knee on York and sets up Ion on the top. King wants a fallaway slam, but here's York for the TOWER OF DOOM~! York covers both men for 2! York takes down King with a bulldog and Ion with a clothesline. King tries for a standing side kick, but eats an exploder! Mood Swing on Ion gets 2 for York! York and King totally blow an enziguiri spot and get booed. Yikes! Now get a combo move, where Ion hits York with a neckbreaker, while York nails King with a DDT! Ion gets kicked in the head in the corner and York tries for the top-rope double stomp...and blows THAT spot, too! Dreamscape on King hits, but King nails York with the shotgun knees. Royal Flush looks to finish, but York gets a small package for 2! Second try hits to retain the title for King.

WINNER: Kenny King - Egads, that was a SLOPPY match. They had some good ideas for spots, but they need to work on not blowing the basic stuff.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash talks to Joseph Park about his match with Joey Ryan. Park says it's the match of "sleaze vs. legalese," before talking about the guys in the back ribbing him. As if on cue, Bad Influence enter the picture and tell Park that Dixie Carter wants to wish him luck. With Park out of the way, Kaz talks about their match and says that they'll be champions tonight. Daniels says they're tired of being disrespected by everyone, from Dixie Carter to the fans to Chavo and Hernandez to Roode and Aries.

JOEY RYAN v. JOSEPH PARK
Have either of these guys even been on TV in the last three weeks? Is there even a backstory to this match? Or is it just a thing that's happening, because fuck it? Ryan cuts an opening cheap heat promo. Ryan calls Park a MARK! Oh noes! Them's fighting words! Ryan then talks about having a huge dick. Park rebuts with "San Antonio rocks!" Yup. He starts to talk about singing karaoke until Ryan attacks him from behind.

Ryan tries to whip Park, but he's a big fat dude! Ryan gets a thumb to the eye and bails. Ryan hangs Park on the top-rope, but Park quickly makes the babyface comeback. Ryan tries to come back with a second-rope crossbody, but Park no-sells it. Corner charge misses and Ryan goes low and goes to the mounted punches. Ryan works over Park with some methodical offense. Keneley tries to cover for Ryan's weeks off-air by noting that he's working his other career "in the San Fernando Valley." That's kind of clever, actually. Ryan's missile dropkick hits, but he stops to show off. Park grabs Ryan by the chest and RIPS OUT HIS CHEST HAIR! YEEEEEEE-OWCH!!! Park makes the babyface comeback. Park hits the corner charge, but misses with the second-rope splash. Ryan tries for a sunset flip, so Park sits on him for the pin.

WINNER: Joseph Park - Park's facials are still awesome, but the matches are getting borderline brutal. I still don't get what the big deal is with Joey Ryan.

We check out Earlier Today with Jeff Hardy arriving to the building...with NEON PINK LUGGAGE. For fuck's sake, Jeff!

Backstage, Brooke Hogan tries to pep talk Bully Ray. Ray says he wants to make her proud and he wants to make Hulk Hogan proud. Hulk Hogan enters the picture on crutches, so Brooke exits. Hulk says that Jeff's been a good champion "for the moment", but he sees something special in Ray. Hulk says Ray is the company's launch point. Yeah, I'm sure Jeff's going to love to hear that. Hogan's supposed to be a babyface, right? Anyway, I can't be bothered to pay attention to any of this, but they're laying this on awfully thick. SLEDGEHAMMER OF PLOT ALERT!

GAIL KIM v. VELVET SKY: KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Oh good lord! Speaking of things I can't be bothered to pay attention to! Kim argues with Taryn Terrell during her entrance, just in case anyone couldn't see the ending coming a mile away.

The angle starts to kick in as Gail tries to grab the ropes during a pin attempt. She argues with Taryn Terrell. Taz says it's probably that time of the month for her. That's charming. Sky makes the babyface comeback. Bulldog and deathdrop get 2. Gail tries to grab Terrell for leverage and we end up with a double KO spot. Gail gets in Terrell's face again and shoves her. Gail slaps her. Why isn't this a DQ? Gail, in fact, dares her to DQ her. Terrell opts not to and spears her, instead. Sky finally wakes up and hits the Carpet Muncher to retain the title.

WINNER: Velvet Sky - All angle. Nothing to see here.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash talks to Robbie E. E calls T an oversized hamster and says he's been holding him down. E does a terrible Texan impression. Yup.

Here's a video package for the E/T feud. Really? For THIS feud?

ROBBIE E v. ROBBIE T
Good lord, we are NOT off to a good start tonight.

E wants to hug it out to start! Dr. Shelby would approve! T, apparently, does not subscribe to Dr. Shelby's newsletter and shoves E across the ring. E does some stretches. E grabs a headlock, but that gets him nowhere. T powers him down with one hand. E tries a single-leg takedown, so T casually tosses him with a gutwrench suplex. E charges in, so T launches him. Corner charge misses and E tries to work over T. He stops to show off, though, so T grabs the GOOZLE! E breaks the grip and tries for a chop. T disdainfully dusts that off, so E bails. E hangs T across the top-rope and hits a seated dropkick for 2. E grabs a sleeper hold. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Crowd is comatose, because they're not buying any of this token E offense. T drives E back into the corner. E tries to dive, but gets caught. E slips out, but T makes the babyface comeback. Military press slam hits. T calls out to the crowd and hits a fireman's carry into a spinebuster for the pin.

WINNER: Robbie T - Total comedy match that was ruined when they tried to make it serious.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash talks to Austin Aries. Borash wants to know where Bobby Roode is. Aries says he doesn't need Bobby Roode and that he can beat all four of his opponents by himself. Fortunately, Bobby Roode IS here and he gets a mild pop upon entering the picture. Roode simply says "You miss me?" and exits.

HERNANDEZ & CHAVO GUERRERO v. KAZARIAN & CHRISTOPHER DANIELS v. AUSTIN ARIES & BOBBY ROODE: WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Tenay tries to sell this match as the three best tag teams in the world, so Taz tries to throw D-Von and Garrett Bischoff into that conversation. Can someone please bludgeon him with a baseball bat?

Daniels works over Chavo to start, as they begin with a wrestling sequence. Chavo comes back with a backdrop. The Mexicans work over Bad Influence before focusing on the champs. Bobby Roode eats a drop toehold right into Aries' nuts. The faces clear the ring. Hernandez brings Daniels in the hard way and tags out to Chavo, who hits a slingshot senton. Hernandez hits the bear hug throw. Chavo hits a seated dropkick and Aries breaks the cover. Kaz tags in, but runs into a hiptoss. The Mexican contingent continue to hit their big spots, as the champs noticeably stay out of the match. Daniels runs interference, allowing Kaz to take Hernandez down with a missile dropkick. Kaz taunts the champs for a bit before taking Hernandez to his corner. Bad Influence start to work their double-team spots with Aries making sure to break the pin. Chavo starts going suplex crazy with everyone, but Roode's able to take him down from behind. The ref removes the champs, as Bad Influence continue to work over Chavo. Kaz dances, as Daniels chokes Chavo in his corner. Daniels hits a second-rope knee and TAKES A BOW! We hit the chinlock. Daniels mocks the champs, but that allows Chavo to dropkick him into the corner. Roode makes the blind tag and continues working over Chavo. Aries tags in to a noticebaly big pop! He comes with a corkscrew senton for 2. Chavo's stuck in the champions' corner. Double KO spot, but Aries is able to take out Hernandez...and decides to take out Bad Influence, for fun. Bad Influence take umbrage to this and now the heel teams are going at it! Aries and Kaz take each other out with crossbodies! Chavo wipes out Aries and Kaz with a top-rope crossbody and makes the hot tag. Hernandez cleans house on everyone. Hernandez holds up Aries. Chavo puts Kaz on Hernandez's shoulders and Hernandez takes out BOTH Aries and Kaz with a backbreaker. But surprise, surprise, Earl Hebner's out of position, so it only gets 2. NFL tackle takes out Aries, but Daniels takes Hernandez out with the STO! Somersault kick takes out Daniels, but Roode's uranage takes out Chavo! Kaz swoops in and takes out Roode with the springboard DDT! Roode nails Kaz with the Double R spinebuster, but Aries gets crotched by Daniels! Now Roode and Daniels are going at it, but here's Hernandez with a NO-HANDS TOPE INTO THE RING to a HUGE pop! Daniels tries to come off the top, but gets caught with a sit-out powerbomb! Chavo wants the Frog Splash, but Kaz crotches him. Aries dumps Kaz and tries to take Chavo for himself! Hernandez grabs Aries, but they take themselves out! Daniels now pounces on Chavo, but gets shoved down! Frog Splash looks to finish, but Roode makes the sudden blind tag! Roode covers Daniels for to retain the titles!

WINNERS: Austin Aries & Bobby Roode - Great match with a bit of a convoluted finish. But if that means we can continue with Aries and Roode as the champs, I'm more than fine with that.

We take a look back at the Knockouts title match from earlier tonight, with Taryn Terrell snapping on Gail Kim.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash talks to Taryn Terrell, but Gail Kim leaps in and attacks her. Road agents separate them.

The steel cage is being constructed.

That takes us backstage to D-Lo Brown rallying the troops. Considering that none of them have masks anymore, hiding them in the shadows is pretty silly, guys. D-Lo thanks Devon for giving the group access to the company. What the hell is he talking about? D-Lo worked there, too! Why couldn't HE have done that? D-Lo credits Wes with luring Kurt into their trap. I don't know, given that Kurt could have easily told ANYONE about D-Lo in the six days between shows, I'd say Kurt has no one to blame but himself. D-Lo sends out Wes for his match.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash talks to Kurt Angle. Angle promises bad things for Wes Brisco.

Here's a video package recapping the Kurt Angle/Wes Brisco feud with snippets from Wes Brisco's godawful promo.

WES BRISCO v. "THE OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST" KURT ANGLE: STEEL CAGE MATCH
Taz and Tenay talking up Brisco's legacy just brings back bad flashbacks of David Flair.

Kurt easily outwrestles Brisco to start. Brisco tries to run for it, so Kurt brings him back in with a back suplex. Kurt misses a blind charge and Brisco works him over with his dizzying array of stomps and kicks. He goes to the mounted punches, because I suppose a wrestling move would be too much to ask for. Brisco expands his moveset with CHOKING! Now for some STALLING! And let's hit the chinlock, to REALLY endear him to me! I know, I know, stomping and choking is EXHAUSTING, isn't it? Kurt tries to break the chinlock, so Brisco catches Kurt off-guard with a WRESTLING MOVE! In this case, it's a flapjack! But man, that's tiring too, so Brisco goes right back to the chinlock! Double KO spot and Kurt makes the babyface comeback. Brisco charges in, but gets hit with a belly-to-belly suplex. Angle tosses Brisco into the cage repeatedly and then hits the Rolling Germans. Angle climbs up and tries a frog splash (!), but misses! Brisco tries a schoolboy for 2. Brisco goes back to his bread-and-butter: punching. Clothesline is countered with the Angle Slam! Brisco hits Kurt with the Greco-Roman Nutshot. Brisco tries to crawl out, so Kurt brings him back in with the Anklelock. Brisco actually counters it. Come on. END THIS MATCH! Brisco tries to climb out, but Kurt catches him at the top. Kurt slams Brisco's head into the cage and brings him back in with a SUPER GERMAN SUPLEX! Angle Slam misses and Kurt nails the ref. Because we need a ref bump IN A STEEL CAGE MATCH! Kurt grabs the Anklelock with the Unbreakable Heel Hook. Brisco taps, but we have no ref. Kurt puts Brisco down with the Angle Slam and walks out of the cage. But oh look, here's D-LO BROWN smashing Kurt into the cage, tossing him back in, and pulling Brisco out. Brian Hebner wakes up and...yeah.

WINNER: Wes Brisco - Terrible match, despite Kurt's best efforts, with an atrociously overbooked finish. In other words, Just Another Shitty Aces Match.

Here's a video package on Team TNA vs. The Aces. My will is just about sapped and I don't think this next match is going to make things any better.

THE ACES & EIGHTS v. TEAM TNA
We start with "Stone Cold" Ken Anderson (probably since he's the only guy in this entire stable that can work more than five minutes without getting gassed) and Magnus.

Anderson mouths off to Magnus, looking like a fake tough guy the whole way. They exchange punches before Anderson begs off. Anderson hammers away in the corner, but the tables are quickly turned. Anderson soon goes to work with his shitty offense. Now we hit the chinlock! Oh, fuck off, Anderson. Magnus comes back, but we're joined by Mike Knox.

Knox and Anderson double-team Magnus. They take turns on Magnus. BORRRRRRRRRRRRRING!!! We're quickly saved by Samoa Joe.

Joe cleans house on Knox and the faces double-team Anderson. The faces coordinate their attacks on both guys. This doesn't last, as Garrett Bischoff comes in.

Bischoff comes in and rakes faces. Then he punches. Yeah, show that moveset, Garrett! And the crowd is reading my mind, because there's a LOUD "You can't wrestle!" chant! Magnus and Joe quickly dispose of Bischoff. Joe hits Anderson with a corner clothesline, but the numbers soon take over. Odds are evened by Eric Young.

Young is a house of fire and wipes out the heels. Everyone pairs off and they aren't even trying to have a cohesive match at this point, as we're just waiting for the rest of the guys to come in. Next up is Devon, just to REALLY pick up the pace!

The faces all fall like dominoes to the mighty thunderous punches of D-Von fucking Dudley! Young manages to get a blow in until Bischoff attacks from behind. Joe puts Anderson down with the Hundred Hand Slap in the corner. Has Anderson actually DONE anything in this match? It feels like he's just been laying in the corner this whole time. James Storm joins us next to a big pop.

Storm mercifully picks up the pace of this match, taking everyone out with his big moves. Last Call for Bischoff! Keneley notes that there are no pinfalls. Wait, so then how DO you win this match? Has anyone actually bothered to explain that? Whatever. We carry on with Doc.

Announcers waste no time in talking about how BIG that Doc is. Yeah, he sure is BIG. The Aces all pose, in lieu of doing anything resembling wrestling. Hey, do you guys like PUNCHING? How about KICKING? And STOMPING? Oh, let's not forget CHOKING! Well, then THIS is your match! We finally end with Sting, who comes out with PLUNDAH! Ok, NOW this should pick up!

Sting wipes everyone out with his baseball bat! Ok, now they're saying that the next pin/submission wins. Why didn't anyone say that before? Sting brings in a trash can full of goodies and everyone grabs weapons! And it's a one-sided match now. Everyone's going to town with the weapons. There are also WAY too many bodies in the ring and it's hard to follow any of what's going on. Sting gropes Bischoff's nuts, for fun. Yup. All the TNA guys are just DESTROYING the Aces with weapons. It is a completely one-sided match now and if the Aces somehow wind up winning this, it's going to make EVERYONE look like idiots. Sting holds up Anderson and we almost have face miscommunication! Anderson is able to hit Sting and Young with nutshots. And now the Aces have somehow taken control. Unbelievable. Now all the faces are being laid to waste. Storm gets hold of a trashcan and goes nuts with it. Storm and Bischoff go face-to-face, so Bischoff runs for it. Magnus and Storm catch him, but here are Anderson and Devon...and here's Joe! FOUR-WAY TOWER OF FUCKING DOOM! That SHOULD be the finish, but it's not. Knox tries to take out Sting with the chair, but Young blindsides him. Sting nails Knox with the Scorpion Deathdrop and motions for Young to go up top! Young gets to the top rope, so Sting tells him to go higher. Sting lays out Knox again and Young hits the Savage Elbow off the top of the cage to finish for Team TNA!

WINNERS: Team TNA - The four-way Tower of Doom and Young's elbow off the top of the cage were great spots, but this was a hideous match, otherwise.

Here's a video package for the Jeff Hardy/Bully Ray match.

BULLY RAY v. "THE CHARISMATIC ENIGMA" JEFF HARDY: TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP STEEL CAGE MATCH
Jeff comes out in neon green and blue face paint, looking like a Fruit Roll-up covered in Silly String. Jeremy Borash gives us the championship intros.

Feeling out process to start. Ray overpowers Jeff and is drawing some noticeable heat, either because they're sick of the Brooke segments or because they also see the heel turn coming a mile away. More feeling out process, as the announcers argue, as they've done all night. Now we get a lock-up. Can we pick up the pace, please? Jeff hits armdragsj and catches Ray's corner charge. Whisper in the Wind gets 1. Crowd solidly behind Jeff here. Jeff hits a springboard splash for 2. Now both guys are fighting on the top rope. Ray kicks Jeff off and he gets crotched on the top rope. Ray hits elbows for 2. Bodyslam gets 2. Jeff tries to escape, but Ray pulls him back in. Now we hit the chinlock. Man, I didn't know all this "RESPEKT~!" would lead to such a slow match. Dueling chants are up and Ray knocks Jeff down with a back elbow. Twist of Fate is countered with a Bully Bomb attempt! That's countered with the Twist of Fate! OFF COMES THE SHIRT!!! But here are the fucking Aces. WES BRISCO and GARRETT BISCHOFF climb into the cage. Jeff takes both men out. Ray takes them both out, too. Poetry in Motion hits and the angle has completely taken over. Ray chucks out Bischoff. Jeff chucks out Brisco. And now we're supposed to start the match again like nothing happened, but the flow is borked. Both men exchange blows. Jeff hits the flying forearm and the wishbone legdrop for 2. Jeff tries to climb out, but Ray catches up to him. Now they're fighting on the top rope again. Ray hits a HUGE chop, but Jeff comes back with right hands. Enziguiri attempt brushes Ray, but Jeff falls to the ground...and Ray collapses on top of him...for 2! Twist of Fate hits again! Jeff tries to climb out, but Ray's in pursuit. SUPERBOMB HITS! IT GETS 2!!! Now here are HULK HOGAN and BROOKE HOGAN, because the angle hasn't taken over enough yet. Hulk tells Ray to get up. And now the rest of the ACES & EIGHTS are here. Should I even bother to recap the rest of this match? The Aces are all climbing in, as Ray takes out his chain. Devon passes Ray the ball-PEEN hammer. And oh, gee willickers, Ray turned on Jeff. Nobody could have POSSIBLY seen this coming! Except for this guy! And this guy! And especially this guy!

Oh yeah, if anyone cares...

WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: Bully Ray - This fucking company....

FINAL THOUGHT

Does this mean we can safely give Sting his "Dumbest Man in Wrestling" title back for ever trusting Bully Ray in the first place?

So basically, they made the exact move tonight that they were essentially building to 5 months ago at Bound For Glory. That's some time well-spent, isn't it?

I hate this company.

Until next time.

There is no way to salvage the Aces and Eights, but at least Bully is a heel again and he is easily one of he best heels in wrestling so at least he is a heel again and getting rewarded for his great work, but you know the turn should have happened six months ago and Ray would have made the faction somewhat tolerable. I do fear that Hogan being made to look like this much of a dope will lead to him getting back in the ring and being TNA's savior. Man hat would be so damn horrible. Sounds like he X division match was a complete mess and man has Christian York not impressed. He botches at least two spots per match and you can understand why it took him so long to get a job with one of the bigger promotions. The tag title match sounds like it was the only standout match and I hate to hear that Chavo and Hernandez were protected while Daniels are the pin. I prefer to see Chavo and Hernandez to go away so e could get out Aries and Roode vs Bad Influence feud. Sounds like the Brisco-Angle match was Angle's worst singles match since he faced Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble back in 2006. The finish to the Lethal Lockdown match, but I would have preferred Magnus get the star making finishing move over Midcard comedy act Eric Young, who simply will never be taken seriously. Main Event sounds okay with the finish everyone and their mother predicted until I stupidly predicted a real swerve. All in all, sounds like a underwhelming PPV.

I'm inclined to give Sting a pass on this one, considering that Bully Ray did spend nine long months putting this plan into action, including five months of which spent after Bound for Glory. For Calfzilla to have been so absurdly patient implies a level of self-control rarely seen in professional wrestling.

I am in a positive mood. Bully Ray as a heel is great. A wrestler other than Eric Bischoff as the big bad behind Aces and Eights is great. (I'm fine with Bischoff as a sidekick, just not as the big bad.) Bully Ray as the world champ is a dream come true. Bully Ray as an evil mastermind with a superfaction behind him is an exciting premise. Brooke Hogan as the new Stephanie McMahon-Hemsley is forthcoming, and will be fun.

Cheers to our Champ! Props as well to Jeff Hardy for his worthy reign.

THIS MAKES NO SENSE. Bully for Bully, but still. Argh. Heel executes nonsensical months-long plan to win a title that they could have stolen multiple times whilst wasting time being Machiavellian, part XXXVII. THIS IS TNA.

The major problem with this angle them waiting to do all of this at Lockdown. They either should have moved this PPV up or just made up a PPV to have team TNA vs. Aces and Eights with Bully's turn. Now we have to wait another to end this thing instead of ending it now.

I got hooked up with a stream 1/2 way into Joey's match. Meh is all I have to say about it, which is sad because I know Joey and he's good when put in with people who can match his work.
Gail did her best to try and drag a decent match out of Sky but the screwiness of the storyline got in the way.
(Side notes) TNA is planning a Knockout's taped PPV but several former KO's have publicly stated they turned the offer down, which doesn't make the company look good at all, especially considering they barely have a women's roster right now. They also settled the lawsuit Daffney has been pursuing over the medical bills she incurred as a result of being injured and put out of wrestling while working for them.
The Robbies match was blah.
The tag match was the best one of the night (that I saw) and even Hernandez was decent in his parts.
Even Angle can't make Brisco not look bad.
Aces & 8's vs TNA had a couple cool spots but let's just call it the cluster it was.
I zoned out during the ME & honestly don't care about anything that happened.
I've been to 5 Indy shows so far this year ( including Dragon Gate USA Open the Golden Gate ) & ordered 3 on iPPV,and IMO they were all far superior in terms of entertainment value to Lockdown
.

I don't know why I didn't notice before, but with Wes Brisco being in Aces & Eights, was he there all along? The guy with the mask and the long blonde hair who was there before Wes every showed up on Gut Check. Is that him?

That was definitely him, which makes Kurt's shocked reaction to the heel turn even more absurd.

I'm more shocked that TNA planted that seed in advance in the first place. Aces & Eights being planned out is the most shocking.

Wow, I can't defend some of the matches (especially Robbie E v. Robbie T), but I definitely think It's False and some of you are being too hard on this show. I thought Wes Brisco did just fine against Kurt Angle. Hell, I've seen better wrestlers have worse matches with Angle than Brisco.

The Lethal Lockdown match was pretty good in my mind, with a satisfying ending. The main event was also good, and it had a PERFECT finish. Just because you know what's coming, that doesn't mean it can't still be great. Yes, the six months leading to it doesn't really make sense, but what we got on this show was a great heel turn.

BTW, I know people want to focus on the sloppiness of the opening match. They have every right to do this, but I thought Zema Ion was fantastic in the match. Unlike the other two, he timed his stuff well, especially that one move in the corner. I think he did a huarancanrana off the top on York while in the same motion landing a moonsault on King. It looked so fluid. Zema is a MAN.

i agree on Zema. He reminds me of a young Sean Waltman think Lightning Kid days. He has a good look, carries himself like a star and really is usually pretty smooth out there. Yes I know he had one accident that badly hurt Sorensen. Zema is fry charismatic and if TNA ever shows interest in rebuilding the X division he could be a big part of hat. I think much like Magnus TNA doesn't realize what they have in Zema.

But he only turned face to turn heel here. They wasted six months with their best heel being a slobbery, chump babyface just to get him back to square one. Bully was doing GREAT as a heel - why did he need a patented "WE FOOLED YOU ALL" nonsense angle? Why does it need to involve Brooke Hogan? Can you really see this going forward without the payoff being the Hogans getting revenge?

Yeah, the turn was good. And Bully was GREAT. But these are moments in a larger tapestry or terrible booking.

I liked Brooke Hogan being involved in the Bully stuff more than when she was the Knockouts booker. They even got a wrestling "wedding" out of it, so I didn't mind it that much. I know Bully is great, but he wasn't doing much leading to the turn to facedom.

I do fully agree that the ultimate payoff for this Bully turn on Hulk won't really resolve, because it's not like Bully is going to face Hogan in a match (at least I hope not). But now that Bully is with Aces and Eights, you have enough TNA guys that will want revenge for Hogan (Sting and Hardy being chief among them).

Disagree. Early prediction: Bully goads Hogan into a match with him, going so far as to put the World Title on the line so that he has an opportunity "to beat up on the old man" and "finally end Hulkamania". And then Hogan "shocks the world" by defeating Bully for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary, a full eleven years after defeating Triple H for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

(People thought Hogan was pretty old to be champion ten years ago, too.)
