TNA crapped the bed tonight. Granted I only flipped to this during breaks in the Knicks game, but what I saw was.

A terrible Briscoe promo.

Danny Davis taking Taz's place in Gut Check while they name drop how he has trained the biggest stars in the business like "Mr. You Can't See Me"

They then picked a Gut Check winner that the crowd totally shit on.

... and the big reveal D-Lo fucking Brown is Vice President of Aces and Eights. We all liked D-Lo at one point, but the guy hasn't had one relevant fucking moment in at least 10 years, and it is probably longer than that. Are there really no semi relevant washed up stars out there that could add a little something and fill a few of these slots like Raven or Rhino?

D-Lo Brown didn't even have rank in the Nation of Domination, but he is VP of Aces and Eights? Who is next Jose Estrada?

I am guessing the big reveals are still Bully Ray, Abyss and Eric Bischoff, but they could be Stone Cold and Bill Goldberg and I don't think it would matter at this point.

This promotion could fold tomorrow and I could care less.

I believe it was ten years ago that D'Lo was Teddy Long's boy that had white boy challenges So it's ten years since he was relevant. I would say he was pretty great about fifteen years and was a great heel and a good babyface and looked like he was on the way to having a long successful career before the botched liger bomb. Pretty amazing how weak the Aces and Eights is and how terrible all the reveals have been and it's gotten worse from Devon to Taz to Garrett an Wes with Doc and Knox in between. No idea what the powers that be have been thinking. James Storm really is a mess right now as he's pretty much been totally fubard from last years Lockdown to this years with his loss to Anderson in four minutes his latest setback. Matt Morgan has been off tv for the most part the last two months and out of nowhere on a go home show he takes Hardy? I understand his stated goals, but the whole thing should have been held off for a week. The finish to Devon-Sting was a mess. Bully's go home promo looked to be a highlight of the show until Hogan came out and cut his millionth TNA is no longer the little engine that could and now is a rocket ship and it killed the segment because the orange goblin has to just butt in and get his two cents in and get his airtime. All in all, this was a bad show that even Bad Influence couldn't save. Oh and you should have watched the Rangers game over the Knicks game like I did.

D'Lo was Teddy Long's guy at the start of the angle, but was soon released and Rodney Mack replaced him.

Ok, point of logic...a word I know that TNA doesn't seem to understand...if Kurt unmasked D-Lo last week, then why would he sit on that information for AN ENTIRE WEEK, rather than...you know...TELL SOMEONE RIGHT AWAY??? There's suspension of disbelief and then there's outright stupidity. I honestly don't know how many times I've uttered that phrase over the course of the entire Aces angle. If there's an upside to this, it's that THANK GOD they've finally done the D-Lo reveal. You know, the D-Lo reveal that we all saw coming THREE MONTHS AGO!!!

Sting's the only man in history to get busted wide open from a drink thrown in his face.

I don't know how we've reached a point where Bully Ray leading the Aces would be the dumbest possible next move for this angle (a move that doesn't make any logical sense and flies in the face of everything else we've seen from this angle so far) and yet, it's THAT glaringly obvious that it's the next move for this angle. I honestly have to ask...are we POSITIVE that Vince Russo isn't still booking these shows?

Jesus Christ, the top heel stable in the company is D-Lo Brown, "Stone Cold" Ken Anderson, D-Von Dudley, Luke Gallows, Mike Knox, Eric Bischoff's talentless kid, and Gerald Brisco's even MORE talentless kid. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS??? WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA???

I have absolutely ZERO motivation to get Sunday's PPV. Shit, I didn't know there WAS a PPV on Sunday! This company's rapidly becoming "All Aces, All The Time," and unless they mercy kill this angle on Sunday (Spoiler Alert: They won't), it's only going to get worse starting next week.

What happened to you, TNA? You were just starting to get cool and here you are, swirling the toilet. Again. As usual.

I'd actually rather they throw us a curveball and have the mastermind be Hardy or something at this stage. They've created an amazing paradox where Bully Ray turning simultaneously makes no fucking sense yet is the obvious next step. So it makes Ray heel again. THEN WHY THE FUCK WASTE FOUR MONTHS WITH HIM BEING A FACE. It's the 10-10-10 stuff all over again, but with an even weaker roster of heels.

Has any face won the extra man in Lethal Lockdown? D-Lo, I can't even defend that. At least Joe/Magnus is back. You take both girls even if you don't for gut check, you take the one that is hot knows MMA and isn't a wreck in the ring. Jeff/Bully is the least inspired main event they could have.

Wes Briscoe salvaged what was a horrendous start to his promo. D'Lo has a nice heel swagger, but he and D'Von should switch roles. D'Von should have been the big guy. When was the last time D-Lo worked a full match?

Caveat: if this is a foreshadowing of either Chaz or Tiger Ali Singh being the higher power, then all is forgiven.

Actually, I'm like 90% positive it's going to wind up being Hogan as the leader, but a senseless Bully Ray turn would also be in character for the company.

The girl who won the gut check contract is as green as grass, but I think she has potential to be pretty great with a couple years of seasoning. My wife suggested that she should be in a wild Samoans gimmick with Tamina Snuka, which I think would be a lot of fun if they were in the same company. Highlight of the show for me was easily Joe and Magnus. Who in their right minds would ever break up that team (oh, right, TNA).

Switching the roles is lateral movement at best. I loved both of these guys about 12-13 years ago, but that was...well, about 12-13 years ago. I have been patient, but I am now in the camp of NO WAY TO SAVE THIS ANGLE.

It would at least have built to a Bully Ray/D'Von showdown for the "soul of TNA." That would have some intrigue, and it would have put Bully Ray at the top of the company's biggest angle.

Still, we have midcarder heels vs. main event faces, when it should be the opposite. Who in Aces and Eights gets over as a main eventer here? Briscoe? Bischoff? Much too green for that kinda of push. I'm a Mike Knox fan from WWE, but this seems like the kind of story that would have finally propelled Matt Morgan to the top. Lookit that beard. His jaw might be the power behind Aces and Eights.

I think the plan is for it to propel Bully once he's revealed as the mastermind, but all this has done is damage him.

It'll still probably be Bischoff, Sr. as the leader ...

or maybe Jason Hervey.

To be fair, the WWE would absolutely do it too.

While we're in a thread about stupid decisions TNA made on this episode...

You know, I read something hinting about a WWE Diva joining their ranks on WWE.com. At first, I thought they were talking about Dawn Marie, but I like the thought of Ivory there.
