Okay. Wow. And wow.

The big rumors going around that Latino Review broke and stands by with their story (latino-review.com) is that Warner Bros. has turned all DC comics movie properties over to Christopher Nolan, the "godfather" of the DC cinematic universe. And...

Nolan is in charge of the Justice League movie as producer.
Zack Snyder may produce and direct the Justice League movie.
Henry Cavill will be Superman in the Justice League movie.
AND
Christian Bale is wanted back as Batman in the Justice League movie.

I... wow. Okay. Make it happen!

This just in...there will be no Justice League movie anytime soon. And soon I mean at least a decade.

So if we say this happens after Dark Knight Rises, how do you explain Bale? I'm fine with him coming back in theory, but that movie provided a nice new status quo that shouldn't be abandoned.

If this happens before Dark Knight Rises, where the hell was Superman?

Justice League needs big-gun creators, and I hope to see their film done right.

eh ... I know I'm probably in the extreme minority, but I really don't want Bale as Batman again ... don't get me wrong, he was fantastic in the Dark Knight trilogy & by far my favorite actor to take up the cowl ... but I want Nolan's trilogy to stand alone ...

I'm with Scotty. I'm not convinced Justice League will be made any time soon. Let's be honest here. Getting Nolan and Bale was the absolute easiest part of all of this (even though it might have taken A LOT of convincing). There is still a lot of questions. Will Snyder's Man of Steel be any good? Is Cavill right for Superman? What actress can play a believable Wonder Woman? Is it possible to make a good Green Lantern on the big screen? Will Nolan's dark Batman mesh with a Superman character that is usually very bright? Who is the villain in the Justice League? How do you get over the fact that Superman is super duper powerful and Batman is just a man (even Whedon couldn't pull this off when Cap looked useless compared to Iron Man/Thor/Hulk)?

Given the way that Dark Knight Rises ended, shouldn't the next step be to bring in Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman?

Having Bale/Bruce providing intel and tactical information to the JLA is believable and, essentially, is Batman's main role in the group within the comics. We know how much Nolan loves his surprise moments --- maybe one of (let's say) Darkseid's minor goons is running wild in Florence, only to be stopped cold by a punch from a random passerby. Camera pans up and it's Bruce Wayne. Theatre audience cheers wildly.

Exactly the sort of scenario I thought up.

But I'm not looking forward to a JLA movie. The only character in the group I really like is Green Lantern, and I'm convinced GL can only be done well by animation. As good as Nolan's Batman movies were, to me they were so good because of the villains and secondary characters like Gordon, Alfred, Lucius. An ensemble piece like JLA would necessarily focus more on the big heroes, and I just have no connection to them.

A few incredible solo lead-up movies would obviously change my mind, but I am not holding my breath.

The Bat continuity as well as Superman us all they need. They are going to recast Hal, but know who he is now. All you have to do is add Diana and Flash. It is not as hard as everyone is making it out to be.

You think they are just going to throw Flash and Wonder Woman out there and the general public going to give a shit?

If Avengers had come out with only Hulk and Iron Man movies beforehand, the general public would have said "Who the hell is this dorky flag guy and what's the deal with the blonde's hammer again?"

The general public only knows the A-list of comic book characters without being fed background info. Flash and Wonder Woman are B-listers right now. Maybe not to people who read the books and love the characters, but those people are not the target audience.

Flash is an especially tricky character to use. I think his all red costume would look terrible in live action, but changing it is likely to generate mountains of nerd rage.

Wonder Woman is a weird case in that most people know the name and have a vague sense of what she looks like, but not because they have read or seen any media about the character. She has the advantage of having been around for a long time and being really the only legit female superhero of the early days (the female Superman "equivalent"). She also, unfortunately, has a name and costume almost as dorky as Captain America. Revamping her will take a lot of ingenuity.

I think you could get away with making Flash the Hawkeye of the movie, but Wonder Woman has so much to explain about her, and a lot of baggage from years of pop culture misuse. She needs rehab or she won't work.

Those of us of a certain age will know of Wonder Woman from the 70s TV show. How much does that contribute to the problem?

The people that remember the Lynda Carter era aren't the people that the WB cares about, I don't think. The big problem is that, in terms of complexity of the backstory and how that backstory meshes with the rest of then team, she's essentially a female Thor. That whole fantastical element needs to be bedded in before dropping her into a team led by the two most famous male superheroes of all-time.

You do her heavyweight title match to be Wonder Woman and have her be the ambassador/banished to the world of man. First person she meets is either upcoming reporter Clark Kent or eccentric back again from the dead Bruce Wayne.

If they maintain her WWII origins, she could be the Captain America. Also? stars and eagles on the costume.

I hope they bring in Ryan Reynolds as GL.

Nolan can not direct action sequences. He's like George Lucas. Lucas knows talking. He frames every single shot as two people having a conversation. Nolan does the same thing.

Take Inception for example. Everything was fine when Leo and the girl were sitting at the table talking, but as soon as the dreamworld started moving, it lost interest. Granted, it looked kinda cool, but it just didn't feel right at all.

Nolan's fight scenes and his action scenes in the Batman movies were such a mess, it completely took me out of the films. You had no idea what was happening cause it was either way too close up, like it would be for a conversation, or the action was to far away from the camera because he thought he was being artistic.

Basically, he can't do a Comic Book movie. The Batman films he made were not Comic Book movies. Justice League needs to be a Comic Book movie. Hugh, bombastic, over blown... Nolan can't do a movie like this.

Christopher Nolan... no thanks. No buys!

Actually, yes, I'm hopped up on morphine right this very minute. Besides that, my hatred of Nolan's Batman films is well documented on here. I hated the first two and will not see the last one.
