If they were so Hellbent on using the CHICAGO guys they probably should have made sure Renee Zellweger avoided the bar until after the show. She was LOADED.

Director was a bit of a mess this year. The two best directorial jobs - Bigelow and Tarantino - and the preseumptive winner - Affleck - all got snubbed, so the result was always going to feel a little "huh?". When the big awards started getting sprinkled here and there I kept up a kernel of hope that DJANGO might somehow snag BP, but in reality it was always ARGO's to lose.

Oscar Ratings: Viewers Rise to 40.3 Million With Seth MacFarlane As Host

NEW YORK -- The Oscars telecast was seen by 40.3 million people, a slight increase over last year's show.

The Nielsen Company said Monday it was the most-watched Oscars telecast in three years. Last year's show, when "The Artist" won best picture, had an audience of 39.3 million people. After bringing in "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane as host this year, ABC saw an 11 percent ratings boost over 2012 among viewers ages 18 to 49 years old.

The Academy Awards exceeded 40 million viewers four times in the previous 10 years.

The Oscars regained its traditional status as most-watched awards show, after the Grammy Awards topped it last year.

The ending of "Life of Pi" completely ruined the movie for me. I hated it with every fiber of my being. So whenever it won something, I got angry.

But that's just me...

If you get a chance to see "Searching for Sugar Man", you really should. It's a great story.
