By the way, Punk claiming it could have been Paul Giamatti playing Paul Heyman in Vince's video last week was the new gold standard for ridiculous heel explanations.

They stole it from DVDVR from last week's Raw thread:
The best thing they could do with Punk at Wrestlemania is have him take on Del Rio for the Heavyweight title. Give Punk the win and the belt, and then set up a Cena vs Punk, title vs title match for Summerslam. I have no interest in seeing Punk job to UT at Wrestlemania.
Originally posted by CRZIf you're gonna rig a poll, at least make it BELIEVABLE. Something closer to 36-34-30 I could believe, but 57-30-13 with Mysterio dead last? That's a huge neon sign saying "this is why we don't do this on Twitter where you can verify it any more."
Actually, Dave says that the poll was legit, and the show had been scripted under the assumption that Orton would win. And Vince actually was in the building (on crutches).
Which is great, because their empowerment of the Universe not only forced them to pin Jericho clean in his first match back, but probably took Ziggler off the show and a post-match briefcase shot on Jericho or something. And maybe took Bo Dallas out of a distraction spot on Wade, although he already got an inset promo.
I suppose it could be that Dolph is supposed to lay low for a couple weeks and then jump out of the bushes to briefcase Del Rio at the PPV. I guess we'll see.

YUP. He's not just delusional smarmy heel #454. He's strange. He makes weird, wonderful choices in how he says and reacts to things.

I like that idea if UT can't do the show, but even with the heel/face switch, I'm not in any hurry to see another Del Rio/Punk match. Whereas the Undertaker match is 2nd from the top, a part of history, and kind of a big honor at this point.

I'll jump on this bandwagon. Great promo last night.
Originally posted by Dr UnlikelyI want him to destroy the Elimination Chamber himself. Like, make a big deal about him not even wanting to go into a chamber pod and needing like 20 guys to back him into one, and when he's not the first guy out of the pods, he just breaks his way out from the inside and says things "One in the Chamber, you better have five more where that came from!"
Man, I love Mark Henry. There should be an alternate audio track for Raw where it's just him mic'ed up and we hear him talking to himself as he walks around the building.
I should have specified; by "destroy at EC" I was including the structure itself. Hall of Pain MVP of the Company Mark Henry got his start when he ripped apart a steal cage and attacked the Big Show with it, I see no reason why further feats could not happen.

The Punk DVD does a pretty good job of burying the World Heavyweight Championship, so I don't expect Punk to go back to it any time soon.
I was pretty excited that Raw was being headlined by a barnburner of a singles match between two talented guys...until it ended and I realized there was still 20 minutes of show left.
That said, I was amazed that so much of the final segment was devoted to four relatively fresh faces. But, uh, why is Cena mad at The Shield? Just because he needs something to do between now and Mania?

The part of Eve,Kane and Ryder will be played by The Shield
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
I don't think I'd be that excited by Del Rio/Punk. Especially since I like what Del Rio is doing with the Big Show and he could do well with Mark Henry next and there is always Ziggler looming.
I almost want to say the best thing to do with Punk might be a MITB match. It might seem like a step down to not have his own singles match but it's usually one of the most exciting and talked about matches, Punk could get right back in the title hunt with a win and they can further the Punk/Shield alliance by having Shield members in the match to help him (or they could end the Punk/Shield alliance when a Shield member goes after the briefcase).

True. Though Punk also went on at length about how angry it makes him to not be main eventing. And that's not going to happen at Wrestlemania anyway. I'd just rather see him in an interesting angle that builds toward him being back at the top, rather than be in a two-month feud that just leads to a job.

Well, yes, but basically because of this.
Ah, yes. I forgot something that happened a week ago. Not uncommon for me, really. Shield attacks were starting to blur together there for a bit.
WWE.com has a post-Raw promo from Cena where he challenges The Shield to a six-man at EC. I think he says something along the lines of "finally The Shield will be in a fair fight!" I guess TLC never happened?
Brad Maddox is still a ref. He just isn't an active wrestler but he's still allowed backstage. All he has to do is make it to the ring and he's home free. It's obvious that it wasn't planned or anything. Didn't you notice how long it took for him to convince someone to give him a mic?
And give Vince a break. He has a major surgery coming up and he's in a lot of pain. I'm sure he's more concerned with not becoming half crippled than dealing with all the paperwork and bullshit that comes up from terminating someone from their contract early.
I've never really liked Jack Swagger, but his new look is pretty cool. They need a new badass explanation for it, like that he was kidnapped and then this all happened:
It's been bugging me all day but I just realized that bearded loose bangs Swagger reminds me Fallen hero of Metro City and escaped prisoner Cody of the Street Fighter Alpha series.

Well Vince is in luck then! Heyman worked for Punk and not McMahon.
Although the fact that he'd be firing someone who doesn't actually work for him would probably cause even more paperwork....
Best moment of the show: When Maddox said he was going to call out the Shield, and not Cena..and then he stared at the entrance for a couple of seconds as if he expected Cena to come out. After that he still glanced at it a few times, even stopping what he said. Very funny.
It was a good Raw, with some decent-to-good matches. Punk vs Jericho was ppv caliber. Oh and Yes! Daniel Bryan did that move again on Rey. And this time facing the camera so they could play it up and everything.
Cody's new shirt is awesome, but how long can it be before Kaitylyn falls head over heels for him?
Cena-Ryback-Sheamus vs the Shield is not a bad match up at all. Sure, now that Cena gets involved they'll lose, but as long as they aren't treated like the Nexus vs Cena they have a chance of coming out with some good heat.

Appropriately, the intro to the show is Lawler being a lech. -On Austin Time is healing all wounds, and the locker room is now more open to taking back someone who quit in the manner he did.
