I would have preferred Joe Johnston, but knew that was never realistically going to happen.
Given the "tweaks" to Star Trek's design sense/effects style (ST2K9's warp effect is a letter-perfect jump to hyperspace homage), it seems like he was angling for this anyway, but never thought it would be available.

I thought he already did a Star Wars movie, it was sadly called Star Trek. I am kinda ok with this move, its the film franchise he really wants to work with and has knowledge about. That said, light flares and shaky cam is not a Star Wars movie make.

Yep, he was the Han Solo of that show. I am now coming around to the idea of more Star Wars. Boba Fett movie would be cool too, Star Wars doesn't always have to be epic in scope.

J. J. has always been so good at casting really good actors that aren't known entities yet (Keri Russell, Jennifer Garner, Josh Holloway, Chris Pine) as well as elevating actors that have been around a while without a big starring role (Victor Garber, Terry O'Quinn, John Noble). I'm hoping this at least means we'll get a Star Wars movie with a great cast because really as popular as the franchise is it has never been big on good acting. Even Harrison Ford was still a little green in the original trilogy.
I would rather a movie about Boba Fettish than Boba Fett, the most overrated sci-fi character of all time. I just hope he doesn't decided to recast Luke, Han and Leia which is what some morons online are advocating.

Recast them in their old age? Because Episode VII is supposedly set 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Why would you recast them? And I'd have to believe die hard original trilogy fan JJ Abrams is foaming at the mouth to get to direct Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
Not to mention JJ cast Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek so he's down with working with original cast members.
Also, dude, agree wholeheartedly on Boba Fett. I have never, ever understood what people saw in that character. He's just a helmet and a jetpack to me.

Matt Hughes is a whiny little bitch. (I hope he doesn't read this and find me and kick my ass.) I'm glad Franklin forfeited the challenge - I was BEGGING him to do that the longer that went on. Stop messing with Rashad.
