Cena/Ziggler was a spectacular match. Cena should beat Ziggler at the end of their feud. Cena should get comeuppance for losing to Ziggler. Ziggler is a cheater and Cena is a hero. But 1) pick one clean blowoff, either last week's match or this week's. And 2) beating him the way he did both times didn't do much to get Big E over as a differencemaker since Cena kicked out of or crossed up all his interference. You're supposed to do that after you've established the guy.
I couldn't have put it better myself. Why do essentially the same finish two weeks in a row? What do you accomplish by that?
At least last week Ziggler didn't cut a promo pledging victory in historic fashion. And seriously, what use is Langston now? If a three hundred pound guy hits his finish and it can't get a three count, maybe it was an off night. If a three hundred pound guy slams a cage door on your head and it can't get a three count, he's a pussy.
Up and down show for me. Lowlight was Miz/Flair. God that was embarrassing. The first Rock concert song was bad, but anyone who thinks the crowd didn't eat up the Vickie song is just in denial. Though Vickie getting shit on is always awkward to watch for me, as I can't help but wonder what Eddie would think. I know it wasn't the cameo/reunion show, but there was no reason for it to be this regular.
Raw wasn't a super celebration, but I did like that despite some teasing, it put the focus on the current generation (and Rock)
The Miz-TV/Flair thing was definitely set up to give Miz a rub. I bet he's going to start using the Figure Four now..
And as crazy as Ric is (and boy, did he bring the crazy) it's fun to see (in small doses) I was afraid he was going to drop an elbow on Antonio but YAY, he hit the jacket instead.
I liked how Mick did NOT get to speak, or even help out but that it was 3 current guys who chased away the Shield.
The concert was lame but it was shorter (or so it felt) than last time. The brawl at the end made more than up for it as both guys went into it. I have faith in Punk and the Rock to know what they're doing..
21 prior replies to this thread and no one actually explicitly mentioned that we have a new Divas Champion, Kaitlyn. I had to devise that from WWE's Facebook page. "C'mon, man!"
Anyway:
TITLE CHANGE STATISTICS
WWE Divas Championship New Champion: Kaitlyn (1st reign) Previous Champion: Eve Torres (120 days; since 9/16/12) 2013 Title Changes: First
This is Kaitlyn's first reign as Divas Champion, and first title overall. She was the winner of NXT Season Three.
Kaitlyn's win ended Eve Torres' reign of 120 days, which began at Night of Champions on 9/16/12. It was Torres' third reign with the belt. There was an unrecognized "hiccup" in Torres' reign: she lost the championship to AJ Lee (yes, that AJ) in a triple-threat match also involving Layla at a house show on 11/11/12, but SmackDown Acting GM Vickie Guerrero ordered the match to be restarted. Torres won the match, and WWE does not recognize AJ's brief time as Divas Champion.

OR, in the graphic they showed before the Diva's match about K8lyn's article in this month's WWE magazine, how the headline begins with "Chickbusters". You see that, J.O.?

Hopefully this doesn't count as a spoiler, but ... yes, he is. Not quite sure what to think about that. Not sure who would be a better "recipient" though.

It's a great hold, someone should use it. Might as well be Miz. I am all for Flair giving the rub to him, that's what the old guys should be used for. I do wish some of that rub had went to Cesaro, but you can't have everything.

How about Ziggler, who is just dying for a legit finisher?

Dolph and some other wrestlers have said the superkick is going to be his new decisive move. Maybe no one told Cena yet.

Only the Chosen One Jeff Jarrett has mastered both -- until now!

Yeah, the "Vickie you are the ugliest!" stuff can be very annoying, but at least in this case she actually did something rude to Rock to 'start' it. Also, I thought Vickie's reactions, going from flattered to outraged, were superb. It's crazy how good Vickie has gotten at this for a housewife with no experience except osmosis who just started coming to work and being in angles.

I'm guessing neither of those were considered. I think Flair's legend status pretty much makes him a full-time face and the conversation very likely was limited to "which face should we give this to?"
I approve of Miz as the Heir To Flair (No heir? No Flair!) in as much as Face Miz thus far has been as entertaining as David Flair.
I hope these leads to a returning Mark Henry as the eventual Enforcer for Miz, partly because Mark Henry would be totally believable as the guy tough heels like Barrett, Cesaro and Big Show would need to worry about, and partly because I want to hear Flair yell "THEXUAL CHOCOLATE!"
Re: Ziggler's superkick, has anyone debuted a finisher by having it fail repeatedly out of the gate before? He should start using a cheat sheet on how to hit it the next few times he wrestles Cena, in homage to Disco Inferno.
Is Finlay back with the company, or did he just get so excited by the Rock/Punk pull-apart that he jumped the guardrail?

None of us were sure if Kaitlyn had actually won the title because Lilian gave one of her classic Lilian jobs running down the (relatively simple, you'd think) stipulations of the match. I'm sure she botched it on purpose to give us a classic memory of RAWs past.
Decent enough Raw, still suffering from the dreaded Sky+ x30 syndrome, but that's going to take a while to cure.
The Rock concert wasn't as good as last time, but the Vicky song had me giggling for sure.
As someone mentioned last week, the Rock has the ability to do goofy and stupid without being overly obnoxious about it, and also has the deftness to know when to stop, and become deadly serious at the drop of a hat. This is something John Cena really should've learned by now.
More light on Dolph's decisive losses -- Meltzer writes that Vince wants to turn him face, and it may be soon. That explains why they'd blow off the heel Dolph team like that, although it doesn't explain why they'd want to blow off the heel Dolph team that has only been together for a month. I think Ziggler will be a good babyface, but it'd be a waste to do it before he had a run as a main event big-bumping prick heel world champion. (I guess you could argue that he's already worked with and put over all the main event babyfaces.)
I think Dolph will be well-liked, but it'll be hard to depict him as sympathetic if he'll be getting triplecrossed by AJ and Big E considering Dolph just pulled the same trick on somebody else. Not to mention Miz and Del Rio both just turned in the last two months. So I hope this is held off until after Wrestlemania and I hope to god his WM match isn't with Langston.
