I am honestly getting sick and tired of hearing a story about Royce White and his anxiety disorder every time I see anything tangentially related to the Houston Rockets! I'm under treatment for mental illness myself, but seriously, enough is enough already.
And the Rockets! Seriously, did you not VET this guy?!

I'm not sure what you are basing this on as you didn't post any kind of link. The latest news I can find on him is this Click Here (espn.go.com) where he sounds like he is resigned to the fact that it doesn't matter what team he is on he doesn't see himself playing in the NBA anytime soon if ever.
Houston isn't on the hook for anything that I know of. It's not like owing Vin Baker 100 million to show up drunk. Houston wasted a draft pick, it happens more often than not and usually the team has to pay that pick for being a bust while they sit on the bench.
Mental health is in the news more lately and it probably should be, but again I don't know if that is what you are upset about or just Royce White. Be happy he didn't get drafted by the Knicks or Lakers.
I am actually interested in how this plays out. How will other teams react to future red flags? I hope he can play one day, or maybe just live his life away from the spotlight.
My thing is, if he knew his anxiety disorder was going to prevent him from traveling on an airplane, what the hell business did he have entering the NBA draft? Did he honestly believe a team was going to go out of his way to convey him to games all over the country by other means?

Well the Rockets knew about his anxiety disorder and drafted him anyway, so ... yes.
Though I've seen nothing from White to suggest he blames the Rockets for how everything went down.
Originally posted by BOSsportsfan34I was hoping at the time he would've fell in the draft some more so the Celtics could pick him. I'm now glad he didn't.
Still would have been more productive than Fab Melo.

But...But Fab Melo had a bunch of blocks in a few D-League games!

Maybe, but I didn't expect him to contribute much this year anyway. Probably plays up in Maine for the season. Sullinger looks like he could be the steal of the draft though.

Exactly - Fab Melo is a project. In 12 games up here in Maine for the Red Claws, he is playing 27 minutes a game, averaging 11 points, 7 boards and 4 blocks per game.
Sullinger is starting to look like the real deal. His positioning to get rebounds one-handed while warding away defenders with the other arm is fun to watch. And what Boston team couldn't use a Sully!?
Fab Melo gets my "Most Hilarious Injury of Recent Memory" award for slamming his head into the top of a door frame and getting concussed. Jeez, he must have been booking!

He didn't lose too much steam the year the Clips made the conference semis. If anything, it actually challenged him to take a different angle on the Clips. And as a writer, he'd probably thrive on the challenge.
