He can so easily make this part of his schtick. If he loses time and they shift the belt to someone else, he can scream conspiracy and claim his reign never ended.
I hope this isn't necessary. I hope he heels quickly. But as with his shoulder surgery they can slap him behind the announcer table, and he will shine.

So Ryback in his attempt to turn into Goldberg has injured a wrestler now he need to punch a glass window of a limo. He needs to find the NWO's limo or maybe the Shields limo though.
I think the most fair amusing thing to do at this point would be to vacate the title immediately, so as to enable John Cena to retain the longest title reign in modern WWE history by a margin of a few hours.
They're going to have to make that TLC match with Ryback awfully short...and very heavy on interference. It's going to have to pretty much be 10 minutes of Ryback vs. The Shield to start.

I love this idea. In the event that Punk really is sidelined (and let's hope not), then this is definitely the right thing to do. This is the sort of material that would be absolute gold in Punk's hands.
Originally posted by PapadocIf it ends up being bad and he can't hold on to the belt, I think a great WM gimmick would be a title tournament.
So you want them to be Champion-less for 4 months? No way that happens. The closest they MIGHT get to that would be making the Rumble for the title like in 1992 and they shift Rock to being in the Rumble itself rather than the currently scheduled 1-on-1 match.
However, I say Punk powers through it. They do a huge schmozz at TLC with lots of interference where Punk barely does anything yet still wins the match, and then he doesn't have any in-ring action until the Rumble itself where he faces The Rock. Hopefully by then he'll be fully healed.
Judging from that article it doesn't sound like something that would keep him out until the Rumble. I wouldn't be surprised though if they have the "Board of Directors" say that since Ryback attacked Punk and injured him that he forfeits his title shot at TLC. The good thing about the Paul Heyman tv character is that he's all about technicalities and legalities, so having him find some loophole to keep Punk out until the Rumble wouldn't be a stretch.
Originally posted by Dave MIt's an injury he came in with but I guess worsened greatly with constant use over the last week. Couldn't put it off longer and didn't want to miss match with Dwayne, almost sure it's a scope and will be back for Rumble but am waiting for confirmation on that.
I haven't watched WWE in many months, so I didn't know Paul Heyman was with Punk now. He looks like the world's biggest slimeball in the photo from the WWE.com link and I love it. It's almost Rumble season and it's time to start watching again, and I am very glad Heyman is around for it this year.
The expectation is he'll only be out a few weeks but they think he's off the PPV and they'll re-do the card tonight. You'd think something straightforward like Ryback & Hell No vs. Shield, although you'd still theoretically need a TLC match on the card somewhere.
I think those that actually exert the effort to physically be there when the tickets go on sale deserve preference over someone just getting on a computer before 10am (especially considering that there had to be some people that made a long drive to be th...
