Pretty much, yeah. Who said his clock was up at WM29?
It's eligible until July, but if he uses it now and he's not in the world title plans for Mania, he has a finite reign. Unless multiple people get hurt at inopportune times at the same time he really takes off, like Daniel Bryan last year. But I'd hold off on the Ziggler title win until after Wrestlemania unless he's going to be part of the Wrestlemania title picture.
I'm down with Taker/Punk because it A) keeps the title on my current favorite until WrestleMania and B) Gives me one last chance to see the Undertaker in person.
I also think hotshotting the title for 3 weeks is silly. I believe if Taker is going out, he has to go out with a loss. Punk would achieve legendary status with the win and could get a rub from it not many others could. If Cena were to break the streak, it wouldn't be quite as shocking as if Punk did. It also sets up the person who beats Punk for the title as a major player too.
I'd love to see Rock wrestle too, but hopefully not against Cena. I didn't think their first match was that great at all.
If Punk beats Taker at 'Mania, you will want to create a new star to get that rub. The only thing is that you are going to want to run with that guy for a while. You aren't going to want to have Punk's signature WM/career making moment to get lost in a title loss to Orton or Sheamus or Cena.
This would be the way to reset Miz's career or find a way to turn Dolph face and springboard him to another level. You could maybe throw Ryback in there too if he can get more fans behind him. Maybe a repackaged Jack Swagger? How about Wade Barrett? WWE has never had a British champion. That can make for some good stuff with overseas tours.
I don't think he is ready yet but look at Cody Rhodes too, he can be that heel HBK type who bumps for the big guys and pulls out the title defense.

Scene: Undertaker barely ekes out Punk to win the match and the WWE title, ending Punk's epic championship reign and stretching his WM record streak to 21-0. An exhausted, beaten-down Taker hoists himself down to one knee for his traditional 'pose with the belt' celebration......and then Ziggler runs out with the briefcase. Wouldn't THAT create a few minutes of sheer panic and suspense at the end of the show??
(Not that I'm advocating ending the Streak on a MITB cash-in. I'd book it as Ziggler getting a few 2.9999 nearfalls and then Taker eventually catching him with a Tombstone for 22-0.)
The catch is also that Ziggler's briefcase is for the World Title, not the WWE Title, but that can be changed through Vickie's executive privilege or some such rot. We could also get another briefcase in the mix if they have another MITB match for WM29 itself. They were apparently planning to have one last year before Barrett (the presumed winner) got injured, so they instead booked the Team Johnny vs. Team Long thing as the multi-man/get everyone on the card match.

On the other hand, if this occured, and Ziggler actually BEAT the Undertaker, would that also end his streak even if it wasn't an official match, per say?

Intriguing, but i don't see any way of Ziggler, Punk, Cena, or anyone else at this point ending the streak.

I mean, I hope so, but probably not. Today's Observer talks about Ryback vs. Big Show and shellshockeding the WLA as a Wrestlemania moment.
So we're up to 6. Let's see how many of them pan out.
Cena vs. Rock (WWE Title?) Undertaker vs. Punk (WWE Title?) HHH vs. Lesnar Orton vs. Sheamus (World Title?) Ryback vs. Big Show (World Title?) Rey vs. Sin Cara
Top 3 seem like locks to me while the rest could change around once they have to commit to Rumble and Chamber winners and when to do Dolph's briefcase. I wouldn't expect them to feel a pressing need to come up with programs for the next level of guys until we get much closer.
Of those six matches I'd guess that Sheamus/Orton would be for the title since otherwise, why would those two square off? Maybe throw Ziggler in there to make it a triple threat?

Given the Tensai fiasco, let's make sure Ryback can hoist Big Show some pre-show trials before penciling it in as a WM moment.

Hadn't Ryback shellshocked Tensai just the week before? He showed that could do it, so not sure what the issue was with the failed attempt.
The Ryback did indeed Shellshock Tensai the previous week on Smackdown. The issue is that it's simply an awkward move to set up. Hooking the opponent's leg and then lifting them up into a torture-rackish position isn't as easy as a normal fireman's carry, and it's a lot harder for the move's recipient to 'assist' in getting up there.
The Ryback and Tensai fought again recently on Raw, and to be sure he hit the move The Ryback used that normal fireman's carry to lift him up. If he was going against Big Show, I'm sure that's what he'd do too.
Chavo Guerrero d. Rey Mysterio. Fine match. Crowd turned on the match towards the end, though. Especially Rey when he did the three amigos. Crowd just seemed to shit all over the Eddie Guerrero stuff. Big Show d. Sabu to retain the ECW Title.
