I really hope Merle doesn't join up with Rick and his crew. He's been a fantastic villain and I want to see him at it again. I'd love it if he mysteriously disappeared towards the end of this season, then shows back up a couple of season later when we've all forgotten about him again.

For comics fans, wouldn't he be a great fit with the Hunters?

I suggest this because there needs to be some sort of conflict inside Team Prison. Let's say they get Glenn and Maggie and return mostly intact to the jail. Then what? Everyone follows Rick without question. Daryl (unless HE turns, and that's ... I don't even wanna) is the second in command. I don't want Glen and Maggie to be on the outs after their Woodbury torture. I don't want Andrea to be in the jail because she brings nothing to the table.

If Merle joins the team, you've got immediate heat with Glen, Maggie, Carol (over Daryl's soul), and Rick. He becomes Shane 2.0.

Good points, but I suppose I have more bias toward the group dynamics that Kirkman wrote in the comic series. One of the reasons I like that story so much is the transformation from a ragtag bunch to a finely tuned core group of total badasses who are skeptical of everything and everyone and take no chances. After everything that has and is going to go down in Woodbury, there is no way Rick or anybody else should accept Merle into their group. Even with Daryl, I've got to think that blood ties are less important than being with people you know you can trust and rely on.

And if Merle does somehow team up with them, how long until Michonne chops his head off while he's sleeping? Or Glen or Maggie do something (if they survive that long)?

I think Merle will side with them then die saving Daryl. The final shot next week should be Daryl turning with his crossbow ready to see Merle either with the sword to Maggie or Glen's throat. They have done a great job building this reunion it needs to be the cliffhanger.

It is weird how much hate people have for Andrea. Remember the group left her to die at the farm. Yes, Michonne should want to kill her for siding with the Governor, but the others I am not so sure. Plus, her out could be, she was a prisoner too and just lie to the others for the next half of the season.

I like this better than the comics. It hasn't stopped Rickman's fetish of killing characters we like, but it has forced him to play certain character to a lower key. In the comics, Shane was a foaming lunatic, Michonne was a giant whore and the Governor was way over the top like Skeletor over the top. The characters are better here and so is the plots minus "Where is Sophia?" Even that had a huge heart tearing out moment.

I will say that, in the end, "Where is Sophia" served one purpose. It was the plot/incident/etc that pulled Darryl into the group as a positive element. I'd say the episode "Chupacabra"; where Darryl has his fever dream; was when his character made the transition from "defiant asshole" to "team player".

Darryl's been the "Sawyer from LOST" of the group. He started out butting heads with everyone, but once he realized the severity of the situation, he became a good guy. It'll be interesting to see how Darryl responds to this pending conflict with Woodbury and Merle.

This last episode was one where they really made the Governor look like a villain. It's played out well, as we can see through Andrea the temptation to turn to the "dark side". Evil is not without its appeal. Hang out in Woodbury, have sex in an actual bed, drink cold beer, get a hot shower, play fetch with a dog and watch Saturday Night's Zombie Event?! Sounds great! There can't possibly be a catch!

Great call. The Governor should make this the theme of Saturday Night's Zombie Event.

The lyrics weirdly work for the Governor.
