So what are your favorites for this time of year? I admit that I'm not a Christmas Music aficionado, so this is also an ask for recommendations. Right now, TSO is the only one in rotation.

1. John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together
1a. Kenny Rogers Christmas

Every year since I was a kid. Love them.

(edit per samoflange below) Ooooh, the Bob Dylan one is excellent too. "Must be Santa" is a great song.

I had little exposure to Christmas music before getting married but my favorites have been the Christmas albums by Jewel [1999 Joy] and Bob Dylan [2009 Christmas in the Heart].

My own personal favorites are a couple of Time-Life collections: Country Christmas (The W at Amazon) and Treasury of Christmas.

I do not care for Christmas music. It started as a slight annoyance when I was in grade school and every year seems to get worse and worse until now when I am at the point where it makes me want to rip my ears from my head, screaming and cursing ever being giving the sense of hearing. I'm not sure why, but there you have it. If I had to pick a least offensive album, it would be something by Mannheim Steamroller- harpsichords help.

My favourite Christmas album is Almost A Full Moon by Hawksley Workman. Songs about family and food and warmth and some holiday loneliness and a mighty fine pad of paper.

He re-recorded the album last year and called it Full Moon Eleven and it sounds like someone shot his dog and then ordered him to redo the songs at gunpoint. It is a neat experiment for completists (read: me) but also as inessential as anything ever. The good news is it comes with a copy of the far superior original album.

This year I'll be spinning Michael Buble's "Christmas" that he released last year. I hadn't been much exposed to him prior to his appearance on SNL last year, and I was quite impressed.
