With his European Title win on Raw, Jeff Hardy is now neck and neck with Christian and Jericho to be the first person in the WWE to have held every men's title in the company. Both Christian and Jeff have held the company's Light Heavyweight/Cruiser belt, the IC belt, the European belt, the Tag belt, and the Hardcore belt. One Undisputed Heavyweight reign is all that's missing for them to complete the circuit, and they're both still pretty young and have several years to reach the level to do it. Conversely, Jericho has held every belt in the company except the Cruiserweight title (his WCW reign doesn't count, as I'm looking at this purely from a WWE history standpoint). Could he still conceivably be booked into a feud for the Cruiserweight title?

Any thoughts on this?

Actually, I think Jericho HAS completed The Circuit. They mention past WCW Heavyweight Title History (most notable the FIVE TIME W-C-W CHAMPION, Booker T!). The WWE "Light Heavyweight" Belt has been absolved, the W-C-W Cruiserweight belt remains (although a different company's initials are on it).

EDIT: The day Jeff Hardy wins the WWE Undisputed Championship is the time that I stop watching the WWE.

Unless Jericho undergoes a severe weight loss, he won't be cruiserweight champ.

And Christian seemed to have stalled.

The first will most likely be Jeff, if he gets into a more storyline wrestling style.

I'd guess Jericho's only 10-15 pounds over the 225 CW limit.

Jeff Hardy had his chance to win last Monday. He won't ever be a credible champ, but a reign from RAW to Smackdown where he would lose to Angle as a fluke champ could have worked. But his opportunity came and went, and he will never be a world champ.

Christian, I doubt he ever will. He's so small, and his style just doesn't seem to work with world title contendership.

Jeff Hardy: Would need a style makeover and a physical makeover as well. A beanpole like him does not make for a credible Heavyweight Champion. (Don't bring up HBK - he had a more significant build than Jeff Hardy does.)

Christian: Doesn't seem to have that *it* these days.

Jericho: Too big to be a Cruiserweight now, besides which a Cruiserweight feud would be a significant step down for him.

Is there anyone credible who's *two* titles away?

Sure there's somebody credible...JUSTIN Credible.

Er, but I digress. The cruiserweight/Light-Heavyweight title is the main sticking point, since I don't think we're going to see Tajiri, Kidman, Hurricane, etc. get pushed to world title levels anytime soon.

Technically Chris Jericho already has since the WWF/E Cruiser Title is really the WCW Cruiser Title pre-Survivor Series and he HAS held that.

Either way, Christian has the best shot at completing the circuit - so to speak. I think we would be thinking much higher of Christian (and EDGE for that matter) had they not completely BOTCHED the Edge/Christian feud. Perfect build-up to Christian's turning on Edge. The actual turn was beatiful. They both have hella-cool entrances now - but the feud itself was botched and blown off after 6 weeks. But I digress.

Christian may not be there now - but you never know. Hell - did you ever think "Blue Chipper" Rocky Maivia or Hunter Hearst-Helmsley: American Blueblood would both be World Champions way back when?

But the deal with Rocky and Hunter back then is they were very gimmicky, and that is something easily changed. I didn't think they would hit it big with those characters, but I wasn't surprised they made it with altered personas. Christian went through his temper-tantrum stage, but he's very bland for the most part, so there's not really an obvious change to make in him.

Yeah, but that's not say he's not capable of being interesting.

Let's not forget that it wasn't until he and Edge won the tag titles and turned heel that he actually.... y'know... said something. And the fact that it only took Christian a few weeks to become such a wiseass little grub that we cae to know and love.

Hopefully, this Canadian Horseman thing with Stoneface and Bucktooth will make him interesting again.

By the same token, I don't think HHH is going to be competing for the CW title anytime soon either.

At the risk of starting a debate over hanging chads, can you disallow Jericho's WCW CW title reign yet allow Christian's and Jeff Hardy's now-defunct LW title reigns to count? The current CW is a WWE title, but it was absorbed in the WCW aquisition. The old WWF LW belt was phased out before it was ever merged with the WCW CW belt (remember that X-Pac defended those belts separately, so there was never a title unification), thus it has no lineage to the old WWF LW belt. The title history of the new WWE CW Championship only goes back to when Kidman beat Gregory Helms for the belt, which would mean that none of those 3 would be eligible for completing the circuit.

However, if you count all forms of the LW/CW titles, then Jericho is the only wrestler who has completed the circuit, end of debate. Jeff Hardy and Christian probably won't get to that level for at least another 2-3 years, if ever, though stranger things have happened.

Other notables...

HHH - Has held every title except...see above comment.

Kurt Angle - World, IC, Euro, HC. Has surprisingly not won a tag-team title yet. Will not likely contend for the CW belt unless he turns anorexic overnight.

X-Pac - CW, Euro, Tag. Would probably be able to snag a HC and IC title reign with a little politicking, but even Vince isn't stupid enough to put the Undisputed title on him.

Crash - LW, HC, Euro, Tag. IC title is a stretch, much less the Undisputed title.

When you add the fact that Jericho also held the WCW TV Title, that's a damn impressive title history. I know the Television Title doesn't count for a damn thing anymore, but...

About Triple H-- he also hasn't won the Hardcore Title, either, and probably won't.

While we're on the subject of “circuits”, let's talk about a different kind of circuit, one that only Bret Hart has so far accomplished:

Winning the World, secondary and tag-team titles in both the WWF and WCW.

In the WWF, Bret won the World Heavyweight, Intercontinental and Tag Team Titles, while in WCW, he won the World Heavyweight, U.S. and Tag Team.

There are only two people I can think of that even have a chance to complete that circuit anymore-- Chris Benoit and Ric Flair. And Flair would be a contender only if you count NWA titles as part of the WCW title lineage. If you do, then Flair needs an I-C and Tag Team Title reign in WWE to accomplish this feat.

Benoit needs only to win the WWE Title. He's already won the WCW World, U.S., Tag Team and TV Titles, as well as the WWF Intercontinental and Tag Team Title.

If Benoit were to add the European Title to his resume as well as the Undisputed Title, he would be the only wrestler ever to win the primary, secondary, tertiary and tag-team title in both feds.

Nobody has considered that, in this day of Sports Entertainment, to truly complete The Circuit you must also have a Women's title reign as well. The only man to have ever held the Women's title is Harvey Whipplemen, but I don't see him completing the circuit any time soon. From the female side, Chyna was the only woman with a legitimate shot once she won the women's title, but she won't be back anytime soon. Molly Holly is a former hardcore champion, and with her butt she might be able to bump in other male title matches as well.

After all is said and done, I guess Jeff Hardy has the best chance of anybody. I can see him spazzing out, putting on a dress, and fighting in a women's title match or something...

Kurt's introed and listed on WWE.com as 220 pounds.

Doesn't make him any more likely to win that belt, but I'd certainly enjoy that storyline.

Chris Benoit's titles:

2-times announced WWF Champion, both decisions reversed
WWF Intercontinental Title [3]
WWF Tag Team Title
WWF Light Heavyweight Title [as Pegasus Kid]
WCW World Heavyweight Title
WCW United States Heavyweight Title
WCW World Television Title
WCW Tag Team Title
ECW Tag Team Title

Mick Foley and Chris Benoit are the only men to ever win the Tag Team Championship in every federation [all Big 3 feds]. Cool, eh?

Bubba and D-Von wont all 3 the tag titles too.
Although ofcourse that was the WWF version of WCW.
They are the only team to do that pretty amazing feature.

Btw..Flair is a 16 time champ but (not counting any hardcore title bullshit) I believe Booker T is the most decorated champion with 25 wins or something?

I could see Angle or Jericho win a LW title in an angle like Disco's a while back where he essentially lied about his weight.

I think it would be a short term gig, between main event pushes for these guys, where either Angle or Jericho would bemoan their lack of gold and decide that the LW title is easy pickin's. Then they beat up on the little guys for a while, but sometimes only barely, until someone bigger gets them to pick on someone their own size.
Actually, either Angle or Jericho against the likes of Helms, Kidman, Tajiri, Noble, etc, would be a great match. Jericho could bust out his double power bomb and can you imagine the hang time some of those little guys would have on the receiving end of Angle's release suplex?
whatever

Does Benoit count as WCW champ? Sure, he won the PPV match against Sid, but then they had the infamous Arn decision reversal the next night.

The WWF/E certainly has recognized Benoit as an "undefeated" WCW World Champion. The old WCW didn't.

Jericho could possibly pick up the LH/CW Title in an angle where he acknowleges the circuit and wants the title only to be able to claim that he has held them all. He could set it up like it wouldn't mean anything to him but a means to an end, so this wouldn't really lower his stature because he would still act superior to the cruiserweights.

I think Rick Scaia says it best when he talks about the "Big Three": World, IC, and Tag Team titles. They're the ones that matter, traditionally. The Fed never really gave us a reason to care about the LHW/CW title, and I doubt they ever will. The Women's title? Get serious, will ya? The Euro title has meant something at times in years past, but not recently (maybe they should invest the time they give Trish in the Euro division instead?). The Hardcore title has been a joke since the 24/7 thing started.

On a separate note,
If we go by "real" fighting standards (shoot fighting, boxing, etc.) then talking about the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight titles as part of a circuit doesn't make sense. They (in theory) are separate divisions with separate competitors, where (in theory) the particular weight class's title is the top of the mountain. It's remotely like noting that the Yankees have never won a AAA championship. So what? They compete in a division with the heavy hitters.

Of more interest is who is a KotR or Royal Rumble winner.
