This is the best Bond movie made in my lifetime. It's the Bond movie I've waited all my life to see in a movie theater.

Skyfall. (backofthehead.com) SPOILERS!!

Without a doubt, the best James Bond movie I have ever seen.

Some of the revelations about his past were awesome.

The reveal of what SKYFALL is/means surprised me a bit.

Word association: "MURDER" "EMPLOYMENT".

IT didn't seem like a 2 and a half hour move at all.

HIGHLY recommended.

My only gripe is that they never furthered the "Who was/is Vespa working for" angle.

Plus, yes, the Adele song and the opening credit montage was outstanding, made you remember all the old classic Bond songs.

By the end of the second act (the end of the action in London), I was already ranking it among my top Bond films. It was paced so well that I had no idea we still had an entire 3rd act.

Speaking of which...my god. What a glorious third act it was. Insanely meta and personal. The amount of callbacks to Goldfinger (not just the one-liners and physical objects, but even the introspective view scenes from the mountains in Scotland) were wonderfully woven in to an original and powerful story. Such an isolated contrast from the rest of the film done PERFECTLY.

Silva was the best Bond Villain since 006 in Goldeneye. I'd say he is even better than Sean Bean. He belongs in the Category of Red Grant, Goldfinger, Oddjob, Jaws, Scaramanga and Blofeld. He commands center stage every time he is on screen, and has a memorable physical oddity that is actually relevant to his psyche and the overall story. The idea of life clinging to Silva was a powerful and horrifying thought. (Something the writers of Bond movies have struggled with in modern times: They give GIMMICKS to baddies and hope that will make them memorable. Diamond Face guy, plastic surgery guy, blood crying man, immune to pain man, unmemorable man from quantum of solace, etc.)

Absolutely fantastic movie that cements Craig as a Bond on par with Connery's finest work.

Vespa is a scooter. Vesper was a woman.

I for one am glad to be rid of Quantum, that evil worldwide syndicate of non-descript, thin-lipped, European men.

I have seen Skyfall thrice now. God, I love it.

Victim of my bad hearing I guess.
Either way, surely they can work Eva Green back into a flick somehow. Have her fight it out with Moneypenny?

I love Eva Green. Except for the fact that Vesper died at the end of Casino Royale, I'm all for her coming back somehow.

Gotta go with the chorus of praise for Skyfall. I really enjoyed it, both for the callbacks and for the cool action scenes. The reveal of what Skyfall was made me think of Citizen Kane actually. There was great work from all the actors and the way they made the references to the Bond series as a whole was clever.

Loved it. I did want some resolution to Quantum, but that still does not take anything away from it. I actually think this was their Goldfinger, Goldfinger had nothing to do with S.P.E.C.T.R.E, so all the callbacks maybe on purpose and we get Quantum in the next one. M reading the Tennyson poem was amazing and probably my favorite montage of the new films. The end was absolutely amazing. Everyone was top notch and I can't wait for the next one.

Saw it yesterday! Definitely a big screen action movie and compelling character drama with a new depth and film-making approach that both calls back to the spirit of the old-school Bond movies and brings the series thoroughly into a new era. Bardem is in his element 100%. See this movie.

I think you have a good villain when you actually think. "Man, I good write a damn good thesis paper or psychological profile on him." I do think Silva had a giant either hard on for M even before he was recruited or over-valued his spot with her. I just got the impression she never cared for him as much as she cared for Bond.

The audience applauded for a car. A CAR. I may have started it.

The continuous shot introducing Bardem (and getting his monologue over immediately) was strong.

If not the best Bond film, this is the best looking Bond film. The set pieces are gorgeous.

This is the Avengers of Bond films.

This movie made me want to burn my entire wardrobe and go out and buy everything Tom Ford designed for Bond.

I've always hated James Bond, but even I have to admit how fucking awesome this movie was. I loved every second of it, and I can hardly wait to see it again with the family over Thanksgiving.

So did my crowd.

Bardem was phenominal. If he had more screen time he'd be comparable to Heath Ledger's Joker.

I like how the opening montage basically gives away the movie but in a way you don't get at the time with the tombstones, knives, and the deer.

007 Facts You Didn't Know About Skyfall (empireonline.com) from two of the three writers.

Interesting stuff.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
I didn't realize Silva wasn't a Double O agent, but that makes sense considering his distaste for the more physical aspects that comes with Bond's job.

M was always pegged to die since Quantum of Solace! But I'm glad they made it a movie in its own right. Smart move.
