Will I let Assassin's Creed 3 distract me from doing a full Smackdown recap? I say thee nay! Though this is two hours I could spend getting more of those collectibles. There's a lot of feathers in the Frontier... No! I can resist! This is Smackdown!

Wait, Vintage Collection had a Jumping Bomb Angels tag match? Maybe I need to start PVRing that show too instead of just catching the last minute at the start of my Smackdown recording. Last week ended with the Edge/Angle hair vs. hair match. And the 'viewer discretion is advised' warning on The Score doesn't flicker anymore. Thanks, Arda Ocal!

Tonight on Smackdown, there will be more on the WWE Title controversy! And more on the Cena/AJ scandal! We saw all of this on Raw! And apparently some Sheamus and Big Show stuff too. No pyro or opening video, as we instead go straight to Tony Chimel filling in for Lilian Garcia, who for those of you who didn't hear got hit by a car. Eek! Chimel introduces The Miz, the host of MizTV, and it's time to get underway with our opening talk segment. When's the last time Smackdown opened with a match? When's the last time Raw opened with a match?

"Welcome to the most must-see WWE Talk Show in history, welcome to MizTV! And speaking of must-see, there are some shocking incidents going on WWE as of late, I mean we have the AJ scandal, did John Cena have an affair with AJ? Vickie Guerrero seems to think so, and then at the Hell in a Cell pay per view a WWE referee Brad Maddox (now I feel proud of keeping track of him for these weeks as That Replacement Ref) goes rogue inside the Hell in a Cell to allow CM Punk to retain his WWE Championship against Ryback? Which brings me to an incident that wasn't so shocking in my opinion, and leads me to my guest, the most burning question going into the Hell in a Cell pay per view was which move is more devastating, the Brogue Kick or the KO Punch? Well, for those of you that missed it, ya might've missed Sheamus getting knocked out and losing the World Heavyweight Championship. So please help me welcome my guest at this time, the FORMER World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus!" How many times is Sheamus going to guest on MizTV? He heads down to the ring, still seeming in good spirits despite his loss. Replay of the White Noise on Big Show from Raw.

"Sheamus, it has been seven months since we've seen you on Smackdown without your World Heavyweight Championship. Now, don't get me wrong, that match at Hell in a Cell for the World Heavyweight Championship is one of the greatest I've seen in memory. I mean, it was incredible, but I can't help but think about how embarassed and humiliated you must feel after getting knocked out cold by the Big Show. I mean, you must feel like a loser." Sheamus grins. "Heh heh, y'know Miz, I could ask you the same question. How did that rematch for the Intercontinental Championship against Kofi go last Sunday? I mean, I see you, but I don't see a championship." "You calling me a loser? Really? Really? Really? Really. We're going to go there. You see, the difference between me and you is that I've actually beaten Kofi Kingston, and I'll do it again to reclaim my Intercontinental Championship. You on the other hand, you've never beaten the Big Show, and deep down inside you know you never will, especially at Survivor Series." "Y'know Miz, for once you're right, I've never beaten the Big Show, and I'd be lying if I stood here right now and said that getting knocked out and losing the World Heavyweight Championship hasn't humbled me a little bit. Last Sunday night I gave my best, but my best wasn't good enough. But here's the thing. I'm not gonna come out here with my tail between my legs, waving a white flag. See, I've overcome a lot of things in my l-" "Blah blah blah blah blah blah fella. Save the cliche ridden stock answers, they don't mean a thing. But somehow I feel responsible for your loss, because if you remember way back when at Wrestlemania the big tag match that I single-handedly won for my team, a series of events happened afterwards that led to your demise. See, when I won, John Laurinaitis gained power, and once he gained that power he fired the Big Show, only to have Big Show come back as an unstoppable force to be reckoned with that beat you one two three at the Hell in a Cell pay per view for your World Heavyweight Championship, so can thank me for your loss." Sheamus is lost in thought. "Hang on a second. What are you trying to say? Are you trying to say that you're the one I should be kicking in the face now?" Miz hides behind a chair. "How dare you. You're a guest on MY show. Don't try to take your shame out on me because you couldn't get the job done. You say you could beat the Big Show, but I can see the doubt in your eye, I can hear the doubt in your voice, and to be quite frank, I find it appalling. You see, unlike you, I've never been humbled, and there is no doubt in my mind that when I get my hands on Kofi Kingston I will regain the Intercontinental Championship, because I'm The Miz, and I'm-" interrupted by Kofi Kingston's music! Kofi has the mic! Stop the presses!

"Look, man, you gotta excuse this guy, you gotta you gotta excuse him because he's a little disoriented. Miz, I know you haven't been on the Real World in a long time, but lately, heh, lately it seems like you have completely lost all touch with reality. You know, I mean, look at you man. How many times do I have to kick you in the head before I knock some sense into you? Look man, I need you to do something man, I need you to come to grips with the fact that I beat you. And then, I beat you again. And then this past Sunday, I beat you again! And in three weeks at Survivor Series-" "At Survivor Series I'm going to do exactly what I did at Wrestlemania, and that's lead my team to victory, and in the process I'm going to personally eliminate you, Kofi, because I'm the Miz, and I'm-" interrupted by the Big Show's theme! Nobody likes the Miz's catchphrase today. Big Show stays on the stage.

"Now Miz, please tell me you're not out here running your mouth trying to take credit for my victory. I mean honestly right now, I kinda have to side with Kofi Kingston and think there is something wrong with you. For example, why, why on earth are you interviewing the FORMER World Heavyweight Champion instead of the NEW World Heavyweight Champion? Why are you asking Sheamus about what it was like to get KOed instead of asking me what it was like to KO Sheamus?" "You know, you're actually right. Big Show, how did it feel to knock out Sheamus?" "Miz, I'm glad you asked that question. To describe the perfect euphoria of closing my massive fists-" "Hey Big Show, hey Big Show, why don't you tell everybody about the euphoria that you felt when I hit you with White Noise in the middle of this ring last Monday night on Raw? As a matter of fact, I think it's something that everyone here on Smackdown should see for themselves?" I think we did earlier in this segment, Sheamus! "So how about it, Show? How about we do it again RIGHT NOW?" "Sheamus, you're being delusional again. You'll have all of me that you could ever want at Survivor Series. Besides, if I come down to the ring right now we both know what would happen. I'm gonna KO Punch you and walk out a winner again. There's nothing to prove by me fighting you again tonight. So in answer to your question, no." And he walks off backstage. As Sheamus and Kofi watch, Miz tries to attack Kofi from behind, but is spotted and backdropped over the top rope to the floor. Hit Kofi's music! Later tonight, Randy Orton faces Wade Barrett! Again? And backstage, Car Sterio (thanks, Big Bad) is walking around! So are the Prime Time Players! Sin Cara and Darren Young go one on one next!

Well, next is apparently a bit later, because we come back to Big Show also walking around backstage, trying his best not to make stupid faces at the cameraman backing away from him while holding the camera ridiculously low to the ground. "Big Show!" And it's Booker T. "I just wanted to, um, congratulate you on your victory at Hell ina Cell, you're the champ. But uh, Sheamus, you did a hell of a job, you guys left everything in the middle of the ring, I appreciate that, but as far as you being in the ring with Sheamus again, as the General Manager of Smackdown it's my job, it's my duty to give the WWE Universe what they want, and tonight they want you and the Miz versus Kofi Kingston and Sheamus. Good luck out there, big fella." Big Show scowls.

Sin Cara w/Rey Mysterio vs. Darren Young w/Titus O'Neill: Well, the Prime Time Players are apparently the Jerks of the Month in WWE Magazine. Young opens with blocks to the back of the head, and a kick to the gut. Whip, Cara goes under, ducks the clothesline, and hits a running hurricanrana! Stomp on the hand, arm-wringer and fingers laced, springboard armdrag! But Young cuts him off with a clothesline. Stop and legdrop. Neckbreaker with a pose gets one. On commentary, JBL plugs the PTP's confidence and mocks Josh Mathews' lack thereof. "You called 911 to have a flat tire changed one time!" "Well, that's accurate, but.. I'm not sure how it affects us here." Chinlock by Young during that exchange. Punches to escape, but Young goes for the vertical suplex, countered into a small package as Mathews tries to quiet JBL by bringing up Rey Mysterio retiring him. Clothesline to take down Cara, and kicks to keep him down. To the corner, one shot there, then back out. Snapmare back into a chinlock. Back suplex by Young, but Cara flips out. He gets the boot up to block a corner charge, then hits a missile dropkick! Cara ducks a clothesline and hits thigh kicks. Whip, reversed, but Cara hits the handspring elbow for two. Young with the kitk, another back suplex is countered into a victory roll for two. Kick by Young, whip to the ropes, but Cara kicks him to stop. Off the ropes again, Young hoists him up and hits the fireman's carry gutbuster. 1, 2, 3! Wait, what? That's a clean win by Darren Young! O'Neill produces a whistle and blows it into the mic. And now he will speak! "Just when you thought you country bumpkins thought Hallowe'en was over. My body D-Young busted wiiiiide open that little pinata right in the ring! Now this is a classic case of a little dog getting in the ring with a big dog. Oh yeah, now me being the good samaritan that I am, I'm gonna give you good people and another little dog the opportunity to get in the ring with a *bark bark bark* big dog. Rey Mysterio! What's up? You want this? You don't really want this little man." Mysterio throws his shirt at Titus, and it looks like we've got an impromptu follow-up match. After this commercial break!

Rey Mysterio w/Sin Cara vs. Titus O'Neill w/Darren Young: Kick to the calf by Mysterio, and again. O'Neill catches him and throws him into the corner, but Mysterio kicks his way out. Low dropkick staggers Titus, but he takes down Mysterio from his knees with a clothesline. Barking time! Stomps by Titus, and Young gets a cheap shot behind the ref's back. Picked up and shoved into the corner. Elbow by Titus, and a forearm shot. Mysterio kicks back, but can't get anything going. JBL claims he was sick that night that Mysterio retired him. Both nights. Scoop slam by Titus, two count. Mysterio slips out of a powerslam and lands some kicks, but falls to a shoulderblock. Running boot gets hunt up in the ropes, but O'Neill evades the schoolboy. Mysterio sets him up for the 619 with a dropkick to the back, but he gets distracted as Young grabs for his foot off the ropes. Sin Cara is over to take out Young with a clothesline! Mysterio tries the 619 but is caught by O'Neill. He runs Rey into the corner. Three point stance! But Rey dodges and rolls him up for the win! Car Sterio flees to the stage quickly as O'Neill argues with the ref. And now Mysterio and Sin Cara are doing the Millions of Dollars dance! Coming up, recaps!

After the break, the commentators throw us to a Hell in a Cell recap of the Punk/Ryback match. Josh Mathews informs us that Brad Maddox has been suspended indefinitely. Maddox will be on Raw to explain his side of the story on the advice of his attorneys. JBL speculates that CM Punk, Paul Heyman, Vickie Guerrero or the Rock might be behind his actions. And now, a recap of Team Foley vs. Team Punk and the introduction of The Ryback! We saw this on Raw!

Backstage, we go to Teddy Long and Booker T watching the recaps intently on their monitor. Take it, Teddy! "It looks to me that everything is out of control on Raw under Vickie Guerrero, and I'm telling you playa, if it gets any worse it's gonna be full-blown mutiny in the locker room." There's a knock at the door, and Booker tells the person to come in before responding to Teddy. "Lemme tell you, if Vickie spent less time stirring up this AJ scandal and more time being a leader, she wouldn't have these problems." Hey, entering the room is Beth Phoenix! Is she dodging another termination bullet? "Sorry to interrupt you guys. Um, it's funny that you mention leadership because, since Eve is on the European tour competing, I thought maybe I could, um, step in and be your assistant." As Booker asks Teddy his input, David Otunga w/Thermos steps into the frame. He didn't knock! "Oh please. What do you know about leadership?" "Hey, you went to Harvard. Didn't they teach you how to knock?" I love it when I guess the joke before it comes! "As I was saying, Book, I know plenty about leadership, so if you need anything, anything at all, I'm your man." "You're my man?" "I'm your man." "David, I need you tonight, I need a competitor to take on a returning superstar tonight." "Alright. Who've you got?" "Great Khali." And Otunga, who was sipping nonchalantly from the thermos, does a spit-take right onto Beth's chest. Beth looks distraught as Otunga apologises, then pleads with Booker. "Book, that's not what I meant." "Look dog, this ain't up for debate, so just go get your gear on because that match is tonight." Otunga looks from Long to Booker, then over to Beth, who's still upset. "Look, I said I was sorry. I don't know what you're so upset about. If you ask me, it's an improvement. He takes a sip from the thermos, so Beth slaps him and he goes another spit-take that catches the camera and Teddy Long! That gets an "Oh my goodness" from Booker. Later tonight, Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett! Or is that next? The graphic says one thing, and Josh Mathews says another! Lets find out!

As we return from the commercial, we are joined by Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez and the Black Scarf of Mourning, w/o a car, who heads down to the ring to do guest commentary. Both heels shake JBL's hand, but only Ricardo will shake Josh's.

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett: Wade Barrett has apparently found his entrance jacket again, and it now has a rose on the lapel. Cue the recaps! The ends of both of the previous Barrett/Orton matches are replayed. Barrett waits patiently for the video packages to end so he can do the 'throw the jacket off my shoulders' taunt that he used to do on the stage. Hey, Del Rio has learned how to pronounce apex. That's one less joke for me to make. Hey, before the match can even start, Del Rio runs in to try to attack, but Orton catches him and stomps him. They brawl to the outside, and Ricardo interferes to give Del Rio the advantage. Orton shoved into the ringpost! Wade Barrett just stands in the rig with his hands up and a big smile on his face. Referees gather and escort Del Rio and Rodriguez out. Will Orton be able to compete? We'll find out after the break!

We rejoin a match in progress, so apparently he will be able to compete! Orton clotheslines Barrett over the top to the floor, then goes out after him. Orton with the back suplex onto the barricade! Clubbing forearm to the chest by Orton, and he throws Barrett back into the ring, but a big boot by Barrett ends the momentum. Mounted punches by Barrett. Off the ropes with a kneedrop. Two count! Barrett chokes Orton on the ropes, and sets him up for the running boot in the ropes, which hits! Orton falls to the outside, as Barrett taunts the crowd. Wade goes out after Orton, but Orton blocks the slam into the steps. Barrett blocks Orton's slam into the steps! The third time's the charm, as Barrett rings Orton's head off the steps. Into the ring for a two count. Hit the chinlock! Orton struggles to his feet, and hits a backdrop suplex to break the hold. Both men up at two. Barrett ducks an Orton clothesline and hits the mule kick to drop him. Stomp to the head. He picks Orton up, puts on a half-nelson and delivers shots to the ribs. Short-arm clothesline for two. Stomps in the corner, but Orton blocks a punch and fights back. Slugfest in the middle of the ring, but Orton takes control. He comes off the ropes, but Barrett gets a knee to the gut. Elbowdrop for two, and that's as far as the detailed recap goes because like last week, company showed up. Sorry guys, but real life has to come before recaps! Del Rio and Rodriguez return to run interference in the end, and Barrett wins with a schoolboy. Orton glares at Barrett after the match, who just sits there and grins, so Orton goes backstage after Del Rio.

Backstage, Matt Striker tries to interview Del Rio, but Orton catches up to them and attacks. They brawl backstage and into catering, where in an amusing bit Del Rio tries to grab a coffee brewer to throw at Orton but scalds his hands grabbing it. Orton grabs a handful of napkins to protect himself so he can throw the coffee, hitting Rodriguez and making him scream. Later, chili gets dumped on him too. Del Rio gets put through a table but then flees, so Orton dumps Matt Striker into a plate of food instead.

The Great Khali vs. David Otunga: Otunga takes out the knee, but that doesn't go very far. He winds up losing to the brain chop. Backstage, watching this on the monitor is Natalya. who is totally not Beth Phoenix and you should ignore that I said she was before. They look alike when not dressed to compete, I'm sorry! I mean, Beth's taller, but that doesn't do any good when they're not standing next to each other. Backstage after the match, Natalya congratulates Khali and comments on how big his hand is.

Justin Gabriel vs. R-Truth: The commentators spend most of the match talking up Gabriel, with JBL mentioning his father and grandfather and saying that the sky is the limit for Gabriel if he fulfills his potential. So of course, Truth beats him clean with the Little Jimmy. Handshake of Friendship after the match with no sneak attack or anything.

Backstage, Miz reminisces about Show-Miz and says that just like back then, if Big Show follows his lead they'll do fine. Big Show says that it's different now, and if Miz doesn't want to get knocked out like Sheamus and Kofi will, he'll shut up and do what Show says. He can start by handing Show his title. Miz, cowed, grabs the title off the locker and gives it to Show, who stalks off without a word. That match is next!

Sheamus and Kofi Kingston vs. Show-Miz: miz and Kofi start, until Big Show tags himself in. Sheamus quickly tags in, so Show immediately tags out. Sheamus and Kofi work over Miz, leading into the last ad break, but we come back from it with Show in control of Kofi. "You want to see me wrestle? Here, watch this!" And Big Show does a waistlock takedown and rolling headlock vise. Headlock takedown by Big Show! "All night long!" Show and Miz continue to isolate and dominate Kofi, until Sheamus gets the tag and comes in to squash Miz. Sheamus has new black and white tights, by the way. Mostly white! Finlay Roll, then a tag into a springboard crossbody by Kofi, but Big Show breaks up the count. As Sheamus is ejected from the ring, Kofi takes the knockout punch and Miz gets the pin. Sheamus was too busy going after Big Show to break up the pinfall. But he wants the last word, so he lands a Brogue Kick on the celebrating Miz. What a sore loser! Play his music anyway! Next week we'll have Super Smackdown Live on Tuesday (it's from England, so it won't actually be live). Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio in a Falls Count Anywhere match! We'll see you then!

Come on, dude! That was Natalya! And don't pull the old "Oh, the Divas are so interchangeable" line. You can't tell the difference between Beth Phoenix and Natalya. Is it because she didn't fart in the skit?

It was the Night of Coffee Jokes turned into full on Food Fight. Two David Otunga coffee spit takes, Alberto Del Rio burning his hands on the coffee pot, and Ricardo taking the pot of coffee in the face. Plus the pot of pasta sauce (or chili? Looked like pasta sauce to me) Ricardo ended up wearing. Coffee and pasta don't go together. Striker with cake on his face popped me like it did the 3MB.

I couldn't tell the difference, you're right! But I corrected myself later when the announcers said it was Natalya, and decided it was funny so I didn't go back to edit it.

Like I said on the later segment, in non-wrestling attire they look kind of similar, especially when they aren't standing next to each other so you can't identify them via height. And when she first entered I was thinking along the line of the last time Beth was fired/suspended, when she went to Booker to plead for her job back. It made sense to me on seeing her enter that she'd be doing the same thing again, and they never mentioned her by name in that segment, so..

I thought last night's Smackdown was actually pretty good. No matches that we haven't seen before somewhere, but they were all executed pretty well, and I liked the way the booking moved the show along. I've been feeling that Smackdown has really been dragging lately, but this episode felt like it had a nice, brisk pace.

I'm the same way. I always confuse Randy Orton with Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay with the Big Show, and Green and Red lights when driving.

I was baffled by her shawl. It aged her about 30 years. Are they trying to make her Casual Land's End Linda?
