Perhaps now Star Tours will be open the next time I go to Epcot.
ETA: EPISODE SEVEN IN 2015 (I guess thread descriptions don't actually show up anywhere?)

I've been to Disney twice in my life. First time was right before Star Tours opened, and the second time just happened to be during the month long downtime when they were refreshing it. Had we gone THREE DAYS later, I could have gone on it.

Yeah, I am not sold on this. Disney is also the company that didn't add Mars to John Carter and got Joss, because he works cheap. Pixar also left for a time too. A friend of my believes that Disney is just going to gobble everything it can up and then one day just own everything. I usually dismiss it, not today.
Episode 7, God, if people thought the prequels were bad. The fanboy day dreaming from Thrawn to Rogue Squad to Vong is going to be pretty awful. Expectations are going to be impossible to meet.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
If nothing else, at least one conglomerate now owns all the necessary pieces for the ultimate remake of "It's Not Easy Bein' Green" by Kermit the Frog, The Incredible Hulk, and Yoda.

We live in a world where a Disney/Marvel partnership has led to a S.H.I.E.L.D. television series. Right now, ANYTHING is possible!

I will legit throw money at my monitor in a desperate attempt to get them to do this.
Episode VII will be interesting. Will they:
1) Use Lucas' vision? 2) Use someone else's vision? 3) Dark Empire? 4) THRAWN.
With Thrawn, you can introduce the Rogue Squadron. From there you you spin them off into their own franchise with ease. Zahn said it best in his annotated Heir to the Empire:
Originally posted by Zahn"Rogue Squadron was half convenience and half a throwaway line -- a unit I could move around wherever I needed it, with Wedge in command because anyone who can survive three Star Wars movies is welcome in my book any day. I would never in my wildest dreams have guessed how well and how far Mike Stackpole and, later, Aaron Allston would run with the whole idea.
Obviously expectations would be (too) high, but the good thing is they can do whatever they want to make a good story. They don't have to worry that at point X Anakin must show shades of darkness, at point Y Padme needs to get pregnant, etc. It should help get rid of some clunky writing *fingers crossed*
Regardless of those movies, wow. What a great business plan by Disney, buy Marvel, buy Lucas and you have some of the greatest 'geek' properties in the world for you to get rich with.

They are buying these properties and this goes for Pixar, too, because creatively they are dead. They lucked out with Pirates. Minus that, they haven't really done anything original in a long time. So, they are buying studios that have a built in fanbases to get more money, because their fanbase is pretty much gone. Epic Mikey 2 is one of the few Disney things out there. They don't do the afternoon cartoons anymore to showcase their talent. They haven't done a straight Disney film in years. However, its a great plan. It just won't shock me to see them re-cast Luke, Leia and Han, Ford would be happy about it, with Disney teen stars. If people thought Hayden's acting was wooden wait til you get a load of the kids from Wizardly Place.

It's called "smart business".
Did you like the Avengers? I forget if you did or not.

Like I said, its a great plan. I did like Avengers, but we have to remember everything set-up for Avengers was before Disney got their hands on it. Thor and Cap were already in production as well as the idea to get them together. What they do with something like Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man and Avengers 2 is where we will see Disney at play.

They still could have messed it up, but they didn't. They hired the right people, and got out of the way.
I need to stop thinking about Thrawn, Rogue Squadron, and the New Jedi Order.

When Disney bought Marvel, they made manifest their need to pursue the young male demographic. Girls, they got via the princesses and musicals. Boys, however, they lose when the kids age out of toddler shows and gear. They repackaged a channel with boy-friendly action fare, and Marvel gave them big franchises and Star Wars gives them literally generations of fans.
