The Superior Spider-Man thread (The W) garnered the expected reactions, so what the hell, why not double the indignation on this board regarding Spider-Man related projects.
Variety reports Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborn are going to be in the next movie. Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane, and Harry Osborn in a Spider-Man movie, stop me if you've heard this one. I really, really hope there's no love triangle. But c'mon, there'll probably be a love triangle. Or quadrangle.
The article says Shailene Woodley from The Descendants is in talks for Mary Jane. I liked her in The Descendants. Actually, I liked her best about The Descendants. But as Mary Jane? Hmm... cue the fanboy "She's not supermodel hot enough!" reactions that plagued Kirsten Dunst for the three Raimi movies.
As for villains, the article says Electro is an option. The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Electro Boogaloo. Actually, from the wordage of the article, if Sony hasn't picked a villain, then it seems there's no script yet. Or there is an existing draft by Alvin Sergent, but it'll be re-written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner. A lot of cooks in the Spider kitchen.
Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and director Marc Webb are all returning for the sequel.

Anybody reasonable as Kraven would make for a good movie. I thought the comic was a bit dark and depressing for Spider-Man, but that seems to be the direction this is going, so it is a no-brainer for a sequel choice.
Thread ahead: Young Justice: Invasion 2x9 - "Before the Dawn" (Spoilers inside!!) Next thread: Avengers: Assembled revealed (EMH likely cancelled...for reals this time) Previous thread: The first pics of the new Robocop are here...
The Tin Man miniseries was pretty interesting. Sometimes the acting got a bit into the Lithgow/Shatner school of dramatic overacting, but on the whole it was a pretty cool retelling/reimagining of the Oz mythos.
