For me it was a great derby, especially Sammy. Man 6 HR's over 500 feet, inhuman. But alas he ran out of gas and Giambi stood tall at the end. But great showing by all except the league leaders Berkman, A-Rod and Bonds who choked Piazza style.

Other notes:

> Piazza, Berman, Schilling and Morgan : I want them to broadcast all baseball games from now on...great chemistry by all.

> The lady that Richie Sexson was playin for the house...hottie!

> What are the odds that Sammy hits a 500 ft shot outside the stadium AND the guy with the Hit it here Sammy shirt catches AND that that's the same guy that hangs outside Wrigly catching the balls also...well i think that's him if I remember correctly from my Chi-town visit last year.

> "No no no no no"...it's cool the firts 50 times, after that, u know it gets kind of old.

> I really was pulling for Giambi to hit the million dollar sign, nobody has been so close so many times.

> Sausage races rule the world.

All in all good baseball night for all as we try to forget about the steroids and stoppage...at least for a couple of hours.

Berman is wearing pretty thin after all these years. I thought they sounded like a bunch of idiots. I get it, Chris, you're hot, you're on your 4th shirt....

Given my druthers, I would have watched it with the sound off and listened to the ESPN radio broadcast, which was Shulman and Campbell, with Dibs doing interviews.

Yeah, which is pretty funny in and of itself.

"Boy, that's a long one and it's off the scoreboard."

How about the one that through the window and into the parking lot!

Sammy planned that one!

That last part is a loaded quote...
But anyway, I was surprised that (from what I saw) 520 was the longest. 520 *yards* was more like it. What was especially neat was the practice shot that took out a couple of lights on the scoreboard.

Schilling gets *MAJOR* props for dropping a Plinko reference on the first Sosa HR to hit the center-left scaffolding.

Berman was being a fuddy-duddy when he tried to quiet the two lil' kids giggling when Rich Eisen was interviewing Sammy with Sammy's "am-I-sarcastic-or-not" reply.

Oh yeah... and props goes to Paul Konerko for almost beating JaGi to get into the finals. *Maybe* people will recognize now.

One of my friends told me that Schill (who is KLASSIC) broke out the "beisbol is berry beery good to me" line and then they cut to the booth and Berman was shushing him.
