Well Andrew, a few others have pointed this out, but you seem to miss it every time. There is a bit of a difference between not respecting someone, and actually thinking they DESERVE to be physically hurt. I can understand that you have little respect for what the man has done in his profession, and maybe he has seriously acted badly towards others. But I don't recall him ever physically hurting others with any malice or intent, and that is a huge line.

If you don't see that line, then I am sorry. When you talk about Karma, usually it means a balancing out, equal consquences for one's actions. It is hard to see how something like manipulation and politics (even if it goes on for years) should be repayed with physical pain and the endangerment of one's livelyhood and career.

I feel terrible for Nash. He's definitely tolerable as a worker when he's inspired so this is just a total bummer.

Look on the bright side: when (if) he comes back after many months of rehab he could do a killer promo spoofing Hunter "Eight-AHH... Long-AHH... Months-AH..."

Gilkson,
The fact that Kevin Nash put Booker T over cleanly, 1-2-3, in the middle of the ring makes up for anything he might have done to Goldberg or anyone else in WCW, in my book. I would also like to point out that Nash is quite popular and I've never seen any evidence that he ruined WCW by booking himself as champ, you can say the Goldberg thing all you want, but someone was going to beat him sooner or later, that's a fact. And Nash beating him was STILL more believable than Sting or Booker doing it, plus it's not like he beat him cleanly. I have the match on DVD and unless the crowd noise is fake, the fans in attendance didn't seem all that upset about it. Nash is better than Goldberg anyway. I'll say that anyday of the week. At least he doesn't hurt people. Ric Flair booked himself as champ and you don't cry about him. Dusty Rhodes booked himself as champ and you don't cry about him. I get that you don't like Nash, fine, but to say that you're happy he's hurt is messed up. I mean, I can't stand HHH, I said and I quote "I hope he gets hurt" and you know what happened when he did? I felt bad. It's easy to say, but it sucks when it happens. These guys bust their ass out there and for any of us to be happy that they are hurt makes me wonder how much of a fan you are. Sure, you can say Nash WAS lazy, but he hadn't done anything since he returned to WWE that made me think so. Sure, he was hurt half the time, but injuries happen, and it's also not his fault they barely even used him leading into Mania. Every Nash match I saw in WWE was passable, he's not a workrate god, but he's not horrible either. Maybe he has been in the past, fine, but I'm not going to judge people on 2 or 3 years ago. I haven't seen any evidence of Nash holding people back in WWE, it's not HIS fault the WWE books him as a main guy, it's not HIS fault that people like him. I mean, do you want him to go out there and make people not like him? He's over, thus he should be used in the role he was used in. That's what sports entertainment is. Now, again, I'm not saying you have to like him (I don't, I can stand him, but I'm not a Nash fan in the least) but you shouldn't be happy he's hurt.

I also feel sorry for Nash because I was looking forward to his return.
And I agree that Bubba Ray breaking kayfabe was unnecessary and exposed the business. I understand his concern, but jeez.

Eh ...

Would I like to see Nash do the good thing and retire from the business? Well, of course, duh. Still, I don't think he or anyone else ever 'deserves' an injury like he suffered last night. I'd love to see the guy leave the ring, but not like this. Here's hoping he gets better soon, but then realizes that his knees are just too damned old to be in a ring anymore.

As for Buh-Buh Ray breaking kayfabe, it looked to me like he was simply trying to drag Nash closer to the corner and under the ropes - to get him out of the way of the onslaught of wrestlers that were suddently fighting in that corner because of the clusterfuck ending. Once Buh-Buh got Nash farther under the ropes, he took a few kicks from X-Pac and went back about his business of continuing to 'perform' ... I mean, it was bad enough that Nash's leg tweaked on him. I kinda respected Buh-Buh for at least having the concern to not want anyone accidentally tripping over Nash and possibly planting a kick or a twist to Nash's obviously injured leg - especially considering Nash's well-known knee problems.

If you honestly believed in karma, you wouldn't be revelling in the misfortune of others.

Kevin Nash is probably my least favorite in-ring performer, but he has the presence and the mic skills of a main eventer, and those are what is important to the casual fan.

Jaded Joe Smark, who is gleeful about Nash's injury because he's a "backstage politician", he "holds people down", or whatever, is too busy trying to convince himself he's an insider to see that this really isn't a good thing for Raw. Kevin Nash may have have about 4 moves in his arsenal, but he does have the ability to give lower-tiered stars the all-important rub.

Like it or not, the fact is that Nash's injury just decreases Raw's star power. We can laugh and make jokes all we want, but ultimately, this injury is not good for business.

That injury was certainly steroid-related. When you see someone tear a muscle like that without obvious trauma, it's steroids. Those kinds of very, very serious injuries generally don't happen unless there's massive trauma or something unnatural going on -- they're a consequence of the body carrying more muscle than its skeletal structure can handle. You know where I learned that? Dr. James Andrews. Yes, that Dr. James Andrews.

Nash's thing looked just like the HHH injury, and I don't think anybody doubts ol' Trip is juicing. I know someone brought up pulled muscles earlier, but that's much less severe.

It is funny that Big Kev isn't exactly brimming with Levesque-esque hugeness, but as a wise man once said, if there's ANY question in your mind whether someone over in WWEland is on steroids, the answer is yes. I would tend to doubt Angle because of past comments he's made, but I'd say pretty much everyone else with that level of definition is doing it.

When he went down, I thought it was one of those old "Fake injury to distract the ref" spots. I wouldn't have felt bad if he'd have just slipped or something humiliating without injuring himself, but a torn quad is no joke. I don't know much about Mr. Nash except what I've learned here, but no one deserves an injury like that. MAYBE a little twisted ankle for a karmic bite, but not that.

Ric Flair booked himself as champ and you don't cry about him. Dusty Rhodes booked himself as champ and you don't cry about him.

Actually, we do cry about Dusty Rhodes. There's a difference between booking yourself as champ and booking yourself as champ to the detriment of everyone else. When Flair was booker of the NWA, in 1989, he put over Rick Steamboat in one of the greatest series of matches in wrestling history. Luger, Muta, Terry Funk, Sting...they were all made to look equally strong.

With Nash (and also Rhodes), their booking made them the focal point of the entire promotion. On the rare occasions that they lost, it was surely because their opponents cheated. The heel might get in a bit of dastardly action, but any heat would be lost the next week because Nash/Rhodes would squash them.

I, for one, was excited about seeing Kevin Nash return to the ring. He's not a great wrestler, but he has charisma and knows how to mix it up. If you noticed the crowd reaction when he stepped OVER the ropes, it was quite loud.

At least, that's what it sounded like on TV.

Get better soon, Nash.

PS: About seeing Dudley break kayfabe: I'm guessing it's because nobody wants to see another man injured., so Dudley started helping Nash out. I don't think he needs to be flamed for it.

Someone made the point in here earlier that you don't see taller guys like Nash walking around becasue their bodies (ie knees) can't handle the stress of carrying all that weight. I'm not saying this wasn't a steroid case, but I'm pretty sure this could happen to anyone who's that tall and has had their body put through that kind of stress. I'm honestly just surprised something like this hasn't ever struck Big Show (with all that weight HE carries), hoping it never happens.

As for Nash holding people down and all that crap. Wrestling isn't real. Get over it. You don't know who screwed who backstage becasue these guys generally don't tell us. You ASSUME this all happens, with no proof. There is no PROOF Nash did any of this. Sure, you can say he WAS booker at this time and ruined this person, but WHO CARES!? The general consensus around here and everwhere is Goldberg sucks, so who gives a crap if that guy who couldn't wrestling didn't continue his streak even if it isn't bad for business.

Wanting people to get hurt, or being happy when it happens is...well, there's no other word for it. It's tool behaviour. I can't fault the guy because he hadn't done crap in WWE. He's popular and the fans cheer him and he could be used to get people over. It IS a loss. Well, I hope to a speedy recovery. He can still be used to get some newer/younger stars over if given the chance. And under the right set of circumstances I would be looking forward to it.

I don't think Nash will be let go right now. Sure the WWF is probably pissed he's hurt again, but I don't think they would fire someone who was hurt in their ring. Persuade into retiring, perhaps, but I don't think they will go low enough to release him.

And to Andrew...even if Nash HAS been somehow holding people down lately, how would this change a thing? The NWO will still be around, and Nash will be wrestling just as much as he has for the past four months.

I hope he comes back for one last series of matches, culminating in Booker beating him clean, perhaps at Mania next year.

Why all the Nash love around here?

How can you say that losing Nash means RAW loses star power? I wasn't aware Nash brought any new viewers to RAW. I wasn't aware he became a draw again. When was this? Was I asleep when Kevin Nash was actually getting pushed for something other then "being one of the original members of the nWo"?

Nash is getting pushed because he USED TO BE A DRAW, that's it. Just because he USED TO BE A DRAW doesn't mean he still is one. It's the same as Hogan right now. He gets crowd pops for what he USED TO DO. That doesn't mean he should be main eventing right now anymore then Nash should be main eventing right now.

NEITHER SHOULD BE MAIN EVENTING NOW. THEIR TIME IS DONE, OVER, HISTORY, GONE.

You guys seriously believe the nWo is over? Did you NOT hear the fact that the fans at ringside were fucking bored out of their skulls when HBK was talking about the Kliq and how Triple H needs to join the nWo and blah, blah, blah. One guy even shouted "get to the point", which were my thoughts exactly.

Look, I am tired of the fucking Kliq. I am tired of HBK and Nash taking time away from wrestlers who still have a chance to turn into money draws for WWE and wrestlers that I want to see. I am tired of Kevin Nash hanging on longer then he should be because he wants a last run.

I am sorry, but Kevin Nash is a CANCER. Has been since 1998, and doesn't have a place in the business anymore. Karma is telling Nash to fucking retire by giving him injuries, and I hope he listens so WWE can finally have a chance to rebuild for REAL, with guys like Booker and RVD and Eddy and Benoit and Jericho and Lance Storm and Kurt Angle.

And to the guy who wanted Nash to come back and job to Booker at WM next year, I have to ask... what would a win over Nash get him? Unless Nash becomes a legit draw again, Booker wouldn't gain anything from being him. Put him over Rock and now you're talking.

Nash and Hogan AREN'T main eventing. The reason they are on TV still is because they still have some rub to give. Hogan's doing it. And I honestly believe Nash was going to lay down for Booker when it all was said and done. He had done it before. Hogan may wrestle the occassional TV main event now, but he won't be going for the title anymore, and it's not like the WWF is relying on the star power of those two to build their shows around.

Well, at first I thought it was a work. That Nash was using the same type of injury to get on Triple H's sypathetic side, so he can join the nWo out of compassion.

But then, after the ref called for the trainer, and Bubba broke charater, I knew it was real.

Look, I'm not the biggest Nash fan, and I HATE someone using backstage politics to get themselves over, but GOD DAMMIT! He's a fucking HUMAN BEING for Christ sakes! I hate seing one of the guys (or ladies) get seriously hurt. I wasn't the biggest fan of most of the guys that has had serious injury, but at least I had HUMAN FUCKING COMPASSION. The man has just lost his livley hood. How can you NOT show ANY compassion for the man!

I may be in the minority, but to hell with it. Kevin Nash, like all of us, is human. And to not show compassion for human injury, no matter how much you hate him, is heartless and souless. I pitty you.

This is just like Eddie Guerrero back when he joined the WWF with the Radicallz. In Eddie's first match back after his elbow injury, he went and reinjured it. He didn't do it on purpose, it was just plain bad luck.

Get well soon, Nash.
