I was in attendance for yesterday's Angels game against the Rays. I've never had the kind of desire to wear a bag over my head the way I did that night. Blowing an 8-0 lead is the exclamation point on a four-game sweep.
When you have a pitching staff of Weaver, Haren, Grienke, Wilson, and Santana and NONE OF THEM can get out of the 6th inning...well, at that point, it has to be a coaching problem right? That's without even mentioning that the bullpen is GOD FREAKIN' AWFUL! (Which I called before the season started, sadly.)
I hope the Nationals can keep up this level of play, especially after they shut down Strasburg. Intellectually I understand the reasons for it, but I'm on pins and needles wondering if it will effect how far we make it through the postseason.
(If we get into the postseason, knock on wood. Also, I'm extremely superstitious when it comes to sports.)
